You missed the fuel pressure hand pump ;) Thanks for reviewing our plane. Glad you like her. Ahh you found the hand pump ;)
Also, please reach out to us on Discord or email so we can send you review copies.
I enjoy very much your reviews! Congrats! Keep up the good work Angel!
That TV is hilariously Fallout, I love it. My biggest complaint (other than the fact I can't land a tail dragger worth a damn) is that the cockpit seems way too dark, unless that is RUclips compression. Cool plane though, but don't think I'd change from the Beaver though, love that thing.
Gotta say, that first landing was quite impressive! Great video too.
Noticed this on Orbx earlier ( decided to check out " the tube " and see if my trusted reviewer had anything posted as regards this , and here we are !! 😁 ) . Really , really nice add on . In my opinion , a nice alternative to the Beaver . Love all the little details , ie the weathered look , especially the visible cargo etc . Can see this fitting in very well with my Air Hauler bush flying save, from the Seattle area . Excellent value for money ( considering its features and the price of some current add - ons ) , and a definite purchase from me 👍 . ( P.s Great content / vid as usual !! 👍) .
VERY impressive landing on the wheels and like the technique! This is definitely a difficult aeroplane to land well but you greased it onto the tarmac!
Reminds me of the movie "The Snow Walker". One of my favorites!!!!
Fun first impressions thanks!
Definitely should be also available in Fallout with that great little CRT!
Thanks for the review Angel. Interesting aircraft and it does look pretty good. I like the vintage look they gave it. I am a little concerned about the darkness of the instrument panel, that might be bothersome. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
Dark colored panel. I increase gamma in Nvidia Control Panel which does away with the problem. But it also washes out the outside scenery a tad bit too.
The scenery is incredible
I wonder how much longer before we have human and animal dynamic scenery
I simply love the CRT ❤
I'm enjoying the hell out of the Norseman at the moment. It ticks all of the boxes for me. It's a run-down, rackety workhorse and I love it for that. Regarding the random time that the sim picks for you: don't know if it's the same for you, but for me the sim resets the time to real time when I switch the livery before flight.
We happen to own more than a dozen 1920's to 1950's radios and test equipment. The wooden box TV styling reminds me of our 1949 Airline brand TV set which still works perfectly. (But it doesn't have a 'touch screen', LOL)
>But it doesn't have a 'touch screen', LOL
You can make any CRT TV to have a "touch screen". Remember Nintendo's 'Zapper'? 😉
Nice video. Really like it....... Also you can control de """autopilot"""" from the Garmin GX clicking on the flight director
Hmm most disappointed not 1 ground loop and I was hoping to see my first water loop!!!!!!! lol. Hint: with all tail draggers I fly either a circular final or a 10 to 20 degree offset so I can see the run way whilst landing just need to kick it round at the last minute. Other than those whinges a delightful video thanks AV lol
That CRT is amazing! Is that the 1930s version of an EFB? 🤣
50s maybe :D
Hi Angel, I think Wing42 nailed the vintage realism genre with the Boeing, so the Vega should be the one for bush trips, when it comes out. Speaking of knuckle draggers, have you tried the Denarq realism mod for the D18S? I kept the original sounds, too much doppler on taxiing, and rear wheel. Love to know what you think of it!
Pronounced: Nor duin/duyn/dwin eh :) Thanks for posting; it's a beauty eh!
Take off !
I feel a bit bad for the Norseman, it must be said. Normally, i'd pounce on this like a starved Tiger, but well, in terms of similar-ish aircraft, we just got an amazing AN-2, which i find more interesting conceptually, and if i crave something with more depth, there's also BB's study-level Otter looming on the horizon.
So while it's an interesting aircraft and i'm fairly sure i'd enjoy it, i just..... don't feel like i need it. Ah well, perhaps some time in the future, if i wanna try something different.
I think I prefer the visibility of the beaver/otter honestly, this is gorgeous but i can see why development of aircraft for this use case continued.
@@AvAngel Actually, i wonder if that was the purpose of the AN-2's curiously "bulbous" cockpit glass. It allows you to lean to the side and look past the engine cowling, or indeed quite far behind the aircraft as well. Quite a cool feature of the Machine, especially using headtracking or VR.
Yeah great forward visibility is important for STOL aircraft.
Hey have you seen how awesome the time selector is in Flow Pro? Way nicer than the built in MS one. Give it a try.
Yeah it is! I love it.
@@AvAngel Beware though! if you use more than 1025 mods, including Flow Pro, it'll hang the sim when you try to return to the main menu at the end of a flight. And its surprisingly easy to get that many mods with lots of planes, liveries, and wilderness airstrips. Ask me how I know! :/
Looks quite good for the price, pity the cockpit is so dark...😢
It's really not if you turn on the panel lighting 😅
AvAngel is having an affair with the Beaver 🤣. I have to say this aircraft is truly a work of art. The sounds alone make this aircraft worth it.I've always prefered the Norseman over the Beaver. Very few things beat steam gauges and PW radial with a smokey startup.
I'm certainly on team Beaver :D But this is like the Beaver's older brother.
I wish it had a 1930s style A-3 or a 1940s A-5 gyropilot rather than the electronic autopilot. I don't mind having a Garmin as backup, but the fantasy "Fallout" style autopilot kinda rubs me the wrong way.
It’s a tablet analogue I guess I rather think it’s unique
The original plane had no autopilot whatsoever back in the day. So having modern AP being "rigged in" (even as stowable option) is more realistic than seeing an ancient one where it doesn't belong.
Is it available in FS Marketplace?
Nor yet
You touched on this but the inside looks so dark, I can't make out the instruments. Not being a content creator, I don't know how much youtube can effect things like this, but did you feel that you were able to see what the instruments were saying at all? I love retro planes, and the sound is amazing, but I'm not such a good pilot that I feel like I can fly it without seeing my instruments.
It was difficult honestly.
Fully agree, the black cockpit is a big turn-off! Searching for some real life cockpit pictures, I immediately found some nice white, grey and even blue (two-tone!) variants that look a lot better.
Is this a plane that needs to be purchased?
Yes
@@AvAngel Im really surprised because I didn’t know there were any water physics. I was under the impression all the terrain and scenery was basically just static.
Not at all, there is certainly a difference between asphalt, grass, dirt, snow etc, water isn't that realistic but it does behave differnetly.
Beautiful exterior but and ugly interior. Love the look of planes from this era. The CRT is a nice touch as with the GPS panel. I would like an autopilot, although not realistic, as this is a simulator and not the real thing. Overall, looks to be a nice effort by Big Radials.
The crt gives you autopilot as I showed
Must have had a Brit help design it....gross. Just my opinion. lol
