NIce, awesome reviews, honest, fair, just how we like it :P You'd be pleased to know the first update coming soon will adress most if not all of these issues, namely:
-Fixed directional indicator
-Fixed Prop disc
-Added a greyish metal cockpit model to ALL variants
-Reworked oil temp
-VR zoom capability
-Much more!
I love Big Radials! The Nieuport 17 is my favorite low and slow plane for scenery ogling.
@@thesn00tyfox the Goose has one. Norseman too
@@thesn00tyfox Theres no hidden AP, and yes, the gyro is a type of autopilot
Happy to hear there will be a brighter cockpit. The Norseman seems to be a really nice plane, but I know I would not enjoy sitting in such a dark cockpit.
Congratulations on another great plane for the sim, you guys are among the best.
Do you know what has a big radial and needs a great developer like you?... The P-47, just saying... 😁😁😁
Flying in Papua New Guinea is no joke. I have nothing but admiration for the gentleman who did throughout WW2.
This is a very fitting video and you did it justice good sir.
Absolutely, Mercury; I’ve flown with a few guys who have done it, sounds like it really sorts the men from the boys, even today. I can’t imagine what it must of been like doing it with 1940’s tech, whilst getting shot at to boot! Certainly a little bit more comfortable doing this sort of stuff in the sim haha, but it can make for a fun virtual challenge nonetheless.
I’m really glad you enjoyed the video! Hope you’re having a great weekend : )
You’ve done it again. No other reviewer of any game or other platform does it quite like you do! I love these videos so much
Haha, incredibly kind words indeed, James! It’s always very satisfying to hear that someone is enjoying the content : )
Much appreciated. My pleasure and all the best!
Thank you for mentioning the Aussie troops in PNG. We are generally glossed over when it comes to the allied history of WW2 (and WW1), and one would think we never participated at all. My late grandfather served in PNG, as an AA gunner based in Port Moresby.
The absolute least I could do, Arokh!
Indeed, British history / history in general, often does a poor job of acknowledging all those who fought in WWI / WWII and often tends to gloss over many of the theatres also. To be fair, I'm no history expert myself haha, but I know that fighting in the Pacific was no joke, so you're fellow countrymen (and your late grandfather) certainly deserve to be remembered for their actions.
All the best! : )
The scenario of hauling avgas in 1942 is very accurate and shows the true desperation in those days.
Thanks Andrew. I tried to come up with a scenario that was plausible, if not entirely historically accurate (and wanted to make use of the nice little touch that Big Radials added there, with the oil drums animated down the back).
Cheers and all the best! : )
It’s called a CRT TV, which means cathode ray tube television. It’s the original TV tech that used vacuum tubes that shot electrons to build the picture.
Thanks Kris!
Actually, the Big Radials box is the “Combined Remote Territory Technical Visualiser” CRT TV - which was why I couldn’t remember what the acronym stood for haha. I grew up in the era of Cathode ray tubes ; )
Much appreciated though. All the best! : )
Watched this on the back porch with a beer and a cigar. Another great video. Always appreciate your reviews. Cheers!
Haha, love to hear it, NTF! I’m always happy when someone is enjoying the content, but it’s all the more satisfying to know that someone might want to sit down and watch the video for its own sake (as opposed to a quick flick through etc).
My pleasure on the video! Thanks very much and all the best : )
Another superb video. I was lucky enough to fly in two Norseman at Red Lake, Ontario in 1998. Brought it all back for me!
Thank you very much James! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video and indeed that it brought back some nice memories. Flying in the Norseman must have been a great experience - lucky you for sure : )
Cheers and all the best!
What we used to do on the Norseman, DHC2 and DHC3, to unstick the aircraft and once on the step, was to roll onto one float. To do that you could introduce a slight turn while on the step. That of course is when you were max gross. Only did 300 hours on the Norseman. Got another 5000 on the Dehavilland float machines. Geoff Quickfall BSc, MSc, ATPL 28,000 hours.
Thanks very much for the info Geoff, it’s always great to hear from those “in the know”! The Norseman, DHC2 and DHC3 - it sounds like you probably had a very fulfilling flying career : )
Much appreciated and all the best to you!
Aircraft, "Airports" and Weather all = GREAT flight. I did not check the price on this aircraft but that all have been a good value for the money. Unless you flew one of these, most desk pilots will be pleased. As it has a propeller, I just may give this a go and use the same airports. Thanks again for an honest review, I am sure the developers appreciate a good non-biased review of their products, after all, it only makes their end result better! !! !!!
Many thanks once again, Mark! As you say, the Norseman should satisfy most desk pilots and as before, I think Big Radials have priced the product very fairly (and are apparently already working on an update, that fixes most of my issues). I’m glad you enjoyed the flight - definitely one I would recommend giving a go!
Haha, well Big Radials were pretty happy with the review overall (it seems), but that certainly isn’t always the case with every developer XD
Have a great weekend! : )
bit of a suggestion for a challenge, during the campaign on PNG the air force lacked sufficient parachutes for supply drops so they would instead descend to minimum altitude and speed to avoid shattering the supplies on impact then throw them out the door. you could try to simulate doing this over a jungle clearing.
Haha, cheers Russell, interesting story / suggestion! I’ll definitely keep that in mind and can perhaps incorporate the idea into a future video : )
Thanks and all the best!
I feel like I'm in a Hell Let Loose expansion! Great video! Great Audio
Haha, cheers Agent 00! I’ve not actually played HLL, but that’s very much the sort of vibe I was going for, so I’m glad it came across.
I’m really happy you enjoyed the video! All the best : )
Great background story as always. Great view and music at cruise. Makes me smile and open a beer.
I am not sure if invasion stripes is correct for Pacific Theater. Anyway - no Zeros showed up.
Loved the takeoff run. Flashback to Murphy's War in Grumman Duck (Peter O`Toole).
CRT is Cathode Ray Tube - Similar to television set your grandpa watched QEII crowning.
I love Murphy's War. Great movie!
Thanks once again Øystein! I’m really glad you enjoyed it; it’s always a pleasure to hear that someone liked watching the video purely for the sake of it - even better with a beer haha!
I don’t think the invasion stripes were appropriate, but one has to work with what they’re given and honestly, it was the only livery I really liked with the package haha (and the one that inspired me regarding the flight).
Clearly, I must come across as younger than I actually am; I grew up with CRT TV’s and flew a few aircraft that had them. The Big Radials box is the “Combined Remote Territory Technical Visualiser” CRT TV - which was why I couldn’t remember what the acronym stood for ; )
I haven’t seen Murphy’s War actually, I shall have to give it a watch!
Have a great weekend : )
This is amazing. Looks I need to be playing MSFS2020 more and less DCS
Haha, well I’m glad you enjoyed it, Iceman! DCS is the better sim in many respects, but unfortunately the maps tend to feel a bit of a dead-end, once you get used to the “freedom” that comes with MSFS. I still enjoy both sims very much though and it’s nice to change things up from time to time.
Happy flying and all the best! : )
Great review of a very nicely turned out aircraft. For anyone interested in chasing up old books I read one years ago called Sepik Pilot by Australian Wing Commander Bobby Gibbes DSO, DFC, who flew these aircraft commercially in the same area after the war. It was a great read. With any luck some of the livery artists will recreate some of his aircraft for us. Will pick this one up for sure.
Cheers Terry!
That does sound like a very entertaining read. Those chaps really were on another level; flying 1940’s tech, in and around PNG - I can’t imagine the challenges / risks associated with that at times. Then again, I suppose when you’ve flown into combat, everything else rather pales into insignificance thereafter ha. One I shall put on my “when I retire” reading list XD
Thanks very much for the suggestion! Glad you enjoyed the video. Hope the weekend is treating you well : )
21:38 External shots look fantastic!
Someone has been sampling Hell Let Loose ;)
Haha, someone else mentioned the same thing Benny. I didn’t actually get the samples from Hell Let Loose (at least not directly), but perhaps I inadvertently found them from a second hand source, or perhaps HLL used the same samples in the creation of their game. Not sure on that one ha.
All the best! : )
Deadstick - Bush flight should just become a MSFS mod
Haha, now there’s an idea, TMTG! I was looking forward to Deadstick, but it seems to have withered on the vine. . .
Cheers all the best : )
Enjoying your content! You have a great voice, almost like you are speaking with your passengers! LoL!!!
Thanks very much iRace, really happy to hear that you’re enjoying the content and indeed the commentary haha!
Much appreciated and all the best to you : )
I recognize the radio chatter from Hell Let Loose.
Haha, I actually got the audio from somewhere else Reaper, but you aren’t the only person to mention it, so perhaps HLL uses the same audio samples, or the source I “borrowed” them from, used HLL himself haha.
All the best! : )
really wish they would get the water physics right for the float planes in this game they suck so bad...
Indeed Colin, definitely an area of the sim that still needs a lot of attention (and for sure, there are a few other areas also haha).
Cheers, all the best! : )
Given those D-Day Invasion stripes, that Norseman must have flown through a wormhole over the English Channel and ended up in ... Milne Bay.
Haha, have you not seen The Final Countdown, Tom? This sort of thing was happening all the time during World War II! : P
@@IntotheBlueSimulations "Splash the Norseman"
Haha, exactly! ; )
Comprehensive high standard of review as usual 🙂
Thank you very much sir! Happy to hear that you enjoyed it : )
All the best!
CRT is: Cathode Ray Tude
It's an old school way of generating an image on a screen. You have a coating on the back of the screen with a material that gives off light when it's struck by an electron. You then have an electron gun that fires a stream of electrons at the screen, and finally you can use electromagnets partway down this stream of electrons to guide the beam to hit the screen in different places, thereby allowing yourself to build up an image.
So, it becomes CRT, Cathode, because the electron emitter is a cathode, ray, since it uses what could be called a ray of electrons, and tube, because all of this is contained within a vacuum tube.
Haha, thanks very much Streaky!
I actually grew up with CRT TV’s and even flew a few aircraft that had them. The Big Radials box is the “Combined Remote Territory Technical Visualiser” CRT TV - which was why I couldn’t remember what the acronym stood for ; )
Much appreciated though. All the best : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations ooooh, I see! Haha, thats pretty funny of them to come up with their own meaning for it!
Haha, indeed. I actually realised as soon as I said “I can’t remember what it stands for”, that it sounded like I didn’t know what CRT ordinarily stands for hah.
Cheers Streaky! : )
Gorgeous looking vid and full of good info. Though for takeoff I wouldn't recommend two stops of flaps. That will cut down on speed and make you bounce. On water I'd recommend No flaps and 25 degrees elevator trim. Then when speeds at 100 very lightly pull back on the stick. Great vid though and i enjoyed the flight with you.
Thanks very much David, both for the kind words and the pointer. Flaps seemed like a good idea at the time, but your logic sounds very reasonable. I’m no floatplane pilot, that’s for sure and clearly what I was trying, was barely working haha XD
Thanks for watching! Much appreciated and all the best : )
29:48 Water level on left side close to shore looks very strange
Great video, I think some tweaks and it'll be great, can I put the DC 6 in the hanger ? Not sure 👍
Thanks very much once again CP!
As you say, a few tweaks here and there (which Big Radials are already busy working on) and the Norseman should polish up very nicely. I don’t think the aircraft is a DC-6 replacement, but it’s a nice change of pace from some of the other “bush” aircraft available within the sim.
I hope you’re having a great weekend! : )
This is Pratt & Whitney R-985 ! Why no smoke ? )))) This is cold start !!!
Hi Sergio,
I think the angle / lighting was somewhat misleading. There certainly is animated smoke when starting the Norseman : )
I hope that clarifies things a little. All the best!
I see floater and radial engine I press Like instantly!
Haha, I can’t fault your logic, Ilja! I hope you enjoyed the flight. Cheers and all the best : )
Hello Captain...do you find Papau New Guinea to be one of the more challenging area's to fly into? I watch Missionary Pilot take his Kodiak into these places. Last one was "ibby". Perhaps you could head into there with marginal weather lol.
Hi Steve,
Without a doubt! Whilst the sim only replicates a fraction of the challenges posed by flying in that part of the world, PNG is still one of the more challenging areas in which to operate, within MSFS. I’ve seen a couple of MBP videos and heard many stories from friends / colleagues - those guys have my utmost respect!
You’re right, I will have to revisit PNG again at some point (I guess I’m waiting on the right aircraft for the job haha).
Cheers for the suggestion! All the best : )
Hello, enjoying your videos. Is this boat/plane dock an add-on mod? Thanks
Hello Greg,
Thanks very much, I’m glad you’re enjoying the content!
Yes, the scenery is freeware, available from Flightsim.to. I forget the exact name of the scenery but, I believe I may have listed it in the video description (otherwise, I expect you would be able to find it after a bit of searching around on Flightsim.to : )
I hope that helps a little. All the best!
God this game can really look good if you have the card for it
If you invest in handcrafted addons and airports. This game will look good even on 4years old pc.
It certainly can, Flight Knight! I recently upgraded my PC and no doubt the sim is looking better than ever, but weather and lighting makes a huge difference with regards to how the sim looks - something that I tend to spend quite a bit of time tweaking for each video (and this can have a nice impact of graphical fidelity, even at lower sim settings).
Cheers, all the best! : )
I don't know why, but the sound gives me headaches, it's like a constant trumpet loop xD
Ah no, well that’s no good, Homie! XD
Personally, I didn’t have any such issues, but I’m far from any sort of audiophile, so perhaps I missed something haha. I hope you’re now fully recovered!
All the best : )
If you downloaded your knowledge to a competent AI, I am positive that you could train every single pilot in perpetuity.
Haha, now there’s an idea! Presumably I could get the AI to make the RUclips videos for me also, Acheiropoietos - that could be a great time saving device actually XD
Cheers, all the best ; )
What a wonderfull aircraft!
Indeed MZ, Big Radials have done a very nice job with the (rather quirky) Norseman overall! : )
The thing that I always miss with radial engines in sims is that they can't simulate the absolute shit show that is the start of a proper radial engine, false starts, needing to rev and wait for all cylinders start firing, smoke everywhere etc.
True YFNM. A2A were pretty great at modelling that in FSX / P3D, but we haven’t really seen anything like that in MSFS to date. A2A should be bringing their Comanche to MSFS fairly shortly though, so hopefully we’ll see some of their radial birds in the sim at some point.
Cheers, all the best! : )
Another spot on video but I have a question . Have you ever done a review on the Scottish Bulldog from Black Box Simulations ?? cause when ever I consider purchasing an MSFS 2020 product I always watch reviews from 3 different reviewers and I have found two soooo wondering I am on the fence about it Thank You
Cheers Mike!
I never did look at the Bulldog actually. I considered it, but I think I was working at the time of release and didn’t think the video would prove all that popular anyway (I try and prioritise reviews, based on addon popularity, at least to some degree). The Bulldog looks like fun (and it’s an aircraft I could certainly imagine myself enjoying), but I don’t have any experience with it I’m afraid. I am looking forward to the Black Box Shorts 330/360 though : )
Sorry I can’t be of more help on that one. All the best! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations baught it and simply luv it
Enjoyed this newly subscriber thx u
I’m really glad you enjoyed it Anjinsan! Thanks very much for the sub and welcome aboard : )
Thank You for the Honest review and Hope You have your greasy coveralls ( or whatever they call them in the uk) and a baseball cap and those boots yes and a big cigar yes this was a time of anything goes and to stay alive
Haha. Big Radials really ought to have included all of the above with the addon, Mike XD
I’m sure it really was “anything goes”. PNG and all its challenges, 1940’s tech and that’s before you’ve even encountered the enemy! Those guys must have been tough as nails.
Cheers, all the best : )
Soundeffects from hell let loose garrisons? 😄
Haha, that audio was actually from somewhere else Fredrik, but you aren’t the only person to mention it, so perhaps HLL uses the same audio samples XD
All the best! : )
How could rec your screen with that quality!?
Hi Lorkio,
I’m not using VR, if that’s what you were thinking? I'm using a head-tracking device called "TrackIR" for the camera movements. It's great, although a little pricey. As a result, I’m able to move around freely, but record at my screen’s native resolution. I use Shadowplay for the recording itself.
I hope that helps. All the best! : )
Greetings sir! Great video as always.
I see from your specs now that you've gone the PC equivalent of full burner. Lottery win? 😂
I have an i7 12700 (no plans to change that for a while) and a 3070ti. I am looking at the 4070ti (4080 and 4090 are prohibitively expensive and would require a new PSU too) and it's impressive in comparison, just seeing if the price drops a wee bit.
4090 is king for msfs
Hi Michael! Thanks very much once again, I’m really glad you enjoyed it.
Haha, indeed! I threw caution to the wind and thought I’d convert a load of cash into heat, via an RTX 4090 XD
To be fair, I rarely “treat” myself and I’ve always had a mid-tier setup previously. With the channel ticking along, I thought the new PC would help improve the content (+ speed up editing times a little) and also I blame VR Flight Sim Guy, as I’m now very keen to get a proper VR setup haha. The new PC certainly wasn’t cheap and was probably overkill to be frank, but hopefully it’ll keep me / the channel going for a good few years.
I hope you’re having a great weekend! Cheers : )
Great review..but man the way you talk in short sound bites, means I can't watch another review of yours without chucking my computer out a window.
Haha, fair enough, Swatius; you wouldn’t be the first person to make such an observation. My commentary style isn’t “put on” so, there’s not much I can do to change it unfortunately but, I certainly wouldn’t wish to be responsible for your computer going out of the window haha! XD
Cheers, all the best
Panel is way too dark . If no light colored panel is available as an option, I hesitate to buy for sure.
Hi Acra,
Apparently, the dark panel is one of the areas that Big Radials is looking to address with their first patch : )
All the best!
I’m patiently waiting for this to arrive on console. It’s airplane pourn. 😬
Haha! I hope the wait isn’t long then, Jack, if indeed the Norseman hasn’t already arrived onto the Marketplace. Enjoy! ; )
Is there a wheeled version, please?
Yup
Hi Kokoete,
Apologies for the slow reply. There is indeed a wheeled variant also : )
All the best!
Magnetos off?
I don’t think so Tor; the “handle” on the magneto selector is not pointing to the selected position, rather the opposite face of the control is (ie the magneto selector was in the “both” position).
I hope that clarifies things. All the best! : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations yes it sure did🙂thought maybe bad grounding 😂
I see PNG still looks as ropey as all hell. I thought the latest WU was supposed to improve that part of the world?
I believe 😅its the next world update due to drop 25th April that covers PNG.
Hi Philip,
As Stephen points out, hopefully World Update 13 should have taken care of PNG, at least to some degree (I haven’t had a chance to try it myself yet though).
All the best! : )
Tailwind on water with an aircraft full of oil? Why have you take off with tailwind?
Hi Antonio,
Well, into-wind would have have had me about 50m from the shoreline haha. Of course, in the real world, one would simply backtrack, but sometimes in the sim, it’s nice to save a little bit of time here and there ; )
Cheers, all the best! : )
Did you say "British" aircraft?
I don’t believe so, Vince. I mentioned that the British used the Norseman, but that’s about it I think. . .
All the best!
A very enjoyable video. Hollywood cringe music notwithstanding.😀
Thanks very much John, very happy to hear that you enjoyed it!
Flying a floatplane, over the wilds of PNG - how could one forego some Hollywood cringe?? ; )
Have a great weekend : )
Missionary Bush Pilot flies a Quest Kodiak in PNG and has a great YT channel. Check him out for the real PNG bush flying experience.
@Simrealism www.youtube.com/@MissionarybushPilot I think that's a Kodiak.
A Canadian aircraft.
Not British.
Hello Robert,
I must have made a slip of the tongue or something; I was aware that the Norseman is Canadian and don’t recall having said otherwise, but as you’re the 2nd person to make such a comment, I guess I must have said something to that effect haha.
Cheers, all the best : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Thanks for the viideo. Kind regards.
Thanks Robert, my absolute pleasure! : )
Needs work before I will buy it.
What's your computer setup
Hi Coal Train,
My PC specs are in the video description. I hope that helps. All the best! : )
@Into the Blue Simulations guess I need to open my eyes lol
Haha, not at all. Not everyone automatically thinks to look there and it’s also a little buried away, in fairness ; )
Cheers!
why do the lakes look concave in this? this must really hinder the landing and an eye sore to look at. C'mon Microsoft.
A touch screen cathode ray tube?... year 3000!
Interestingly, touch screen CRTs did exist! They obviously never took off due to LCD tech, but it’s amazing what we’re able to accomplish with old school tech.
They absolutely did exist, we still use one on a 90’s audio mixing console! 1992 touch control! Works completely well! It’s an IBM-screen I believe.
Haha, indeed Teh509, seems the Norseman was well ahead of its time! ; )
How did you set up your camera controls? You have like a freeload-camera, how can I setup this? Thanks!
Hi Tim,
I'm actually using a head-tracking device called "TrackIR" for the camera movements. It's great, although a little pricey. There are cheaper / freeware alternatives available though, should you wish to give it a go for yourself : )
I hope that helps. All the best!
Autopilot? You mean VATS?
Sorry Mr AFT, I’m probably just being slow, but what is VATS? Is that what Big Radials are calling the autopilot and I’ve forgotten haha?
All the best : )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations Quite alright Mr IBS! It's a game mechanic in the Fallout video games that allows you to shoot something with a chance to hit determined by your character build. It's an autopilot for shooting, and given the Fallout-like appearance of the very nice Big Radials CRT flight assistant/computer - you can piece the rest together :)
Ahhh, haha. I’ve not played fallout myself, but I have seen that mechanic at work, so I should have known ha. Thanks for the explanation, much appreciated : )
Don't know whether it's because i bought this bird from Orbx or not but the nav button will not turn on for some reason.
Hi IKA,
Hmm, I don’t think that should make a difference. Are you sure it’s not a control binding issue (a hardware switch, preventing you from changing the switching position in the cockpit)? It could be that there’s a bug with the aircraft but, I’m afraid you’d have to get in touch with the developers on that one. . .
I do hope you manage to get things sorted. All the best!
Didn't Glenn Miller disappear in one of these over the Channel in 1944?
I believe he did, Jason, yes. Recreating that fateful flight, was actually the first scenario I considered when making this review. The flight itself wouldn’t have been all that interesting though and for sure, RUclips copyright would snag me if I had used any of Glenn Miller’s music so, I went with a fictitious PNG flight instead.
Cheers, all the best!
Great video/review ,, however the D-Day stripes look wrong .
Thanks very much Dave, glad you enjoyed it! Haha yes, the D-Day stripes were a bit out of place, but this was the only military livery available at the time and indeed the only livery available that I really liked, so I ran with it ; )
Cheers and all the best!
Lol @ Hell let loose soundbyte sugar 5 0 😁
Haha, I actually got the audio from somewhere else Xiao, but you aren’t the only person to mention it, so perhaps HLL uses the same audio samples, or the source I “borrowed” them from, used HLL himself haha.
All the best! : )
Enjoyed the aircraft more than I expected, especially given your excellent review. Love all the round engine aircraft. Also truly appreciate the external views (re-views, as it were) of key flight segments like takeoff. Much better review than some that show only cockpit review. I’m just a fan overall of your presentations, you get first prize imho. Thanks again!
I’m very happy to hear that, Arther. I’d actually never heard of the Norseman, prior to Big Radials releasing the addon and whilst the aircraft is a bit of a dog in the looks department haha (it’s design, as opposed to Big Radials rendition of it), it definitely offers up something a bit different (which is always nice).
Thank you very much again for the kind words - much appreciated! Cheers : )
your water looks amazing is that vanilla?
nice video as always
Cheers Metriximor. The water is indeed vanilla, albeit at Ultra settings and with a little bit of windspeed added, giving it some body / motion (rather than the “millpond” effect that we often see in the sim).
I hope that clarifies things. Really glad you enjoyed the video! Cheers and all the best : )
I would love to know your trackir curves. Looks so much smoother than what I’ve achieved. Great video
Hi SCP,
I actually uploaded my TrackIR profile, over on Flightsim.to (just search for “Into the Blue TrackIR” and you should find it). Feel free to give it a go! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers and all the best : )
Always a pleasure!
Thank you very much, sir! I’m glad you enjoyed the vid : )
All the best!
Looks and sounds good! But that take-off, man! It took longer to get in the air than some Aerosucre birds! 😄 P.S.: I recommend Captains of the Clouds for a good movie featuring the Norseman.
Hi Jigsaw,
Haha, I do think the takeoff was a little bit “leisurely” haha, but I did give the aircraft a tailwind to deal with in fairness and the flaps may not have helped in hindsight. Apparently, the Norseman’s takeoff performance was nothing stellar, though I do suspect that it probably had a touch more “get up and go” in reality.
I haven’t seen Captain of the Clouds, I shall have to try and remember to check it out! Cheers and all the best : )
Hey into the blue! Are you thinking of offering flight lessons for beginner simulator pilots and upwards? I feel a lot of fun is lost because the beginning is overwhelming for many, and can lead to interest disappear over time. There aren't many great complete courses out there that are well designed.
Hello RB,
Well, I did actually create such a series (it’s a bit old, so you’ll have to forgive it being a bit “rough around the edges” haha): ruclips.net/video/VPrljZevacU/видео.html
I had planned to make further videos, delving into IFR, more complex aircraft etc, but the fact is that there didn’t seem to be much interest and I didn’t find the videos to be as enjoyable to make, so the series somewhat fell by the wayside. If I find myself with a bunch of free time on my hands one day, I might revisit the idea, but for the time being, I’ll most likely be sticking with the reviews I’m afraid.
Still, I hope you find the above series to be of some use! Thanks for the suggestion. Happy flying and all the best : )
Maybe should have mentioned this was a non-smoking flight.
Haha! This sort of flying, I can imagine the pilot would have a pipe, or beefy cigar lit throughout the entire flight XD
Cheers JJ, all the best!
Nice review. Nice plane too; Aviodrome museum in the Netherlands (on the EHLE Lelystad airport) is busy on a full flyable restore of one, which seems to be coming along nicely after many years. Hope to see that flying within the next couple of years..
Thanks very much Jarno, I’m glad you enjoyed the flight! I shall keep an eye out for the Dutch Norseman then - hopefully we’ll see her flying in the not-too-distant future : )
Cheers for the info and all the best to you!
another fun video, thanks a bunch for the detail I am learning a lot watching your procedures. Just a bit of advice, as an avid boater i would never push off the dock until she is fired up and running, there is no faster way to end up in the weeds LoL
Thanks very much James, both for the kind words and the advice haha. I moved away from the dock, as interactions between the water, aircraft and the platform itself can be a bit “haphazard”, but your point is certainly a fair one (and a lesson I have learnt the hard way, on more than one occasion ha)! I’m really glad you’re finding the content informative / enjoyable, that’s always great to hear : )
Cheers and all the best!
Kind of boring. I respect you though. War thunder is and will always be the best and battlefield. DCS is okay
Haha, well thanks Mitch XD
To each his own, I suppose; I tried War Thunder recently and couldn’t really get into it. DCS is superb, but the maps can be a bit restrictive at times. MSFS is certainly the least “exciting” of the bunch, but it’s great fun being able to explore the entire planet.
All the best : )
❤hello our was your day hi
Awesome video. Gladly take my sub. I just got a 4090 from a 1080 and reinstalling msfs now to see how much better it looks and runs. (With a 10600k and 32gb 3200mhz ddr4)
Thanks very much Bowsewr, I’m really glad you enjoyed the video!
I hope you’re enjoying the 4090 then; I’ve certainly found that being able to crack everything up Ultra, makes the sim look that much prettier still.
Thanks very much for the sub - welcome aboard! Happy flying and all the best : )
Great video.. How you move in the cockpit view like that which button you using? Thank you
Thanks very much Zoltan, glad you enjoyed it!
I'm using a head-tracking device called "TrackIR" for the camera movements. It's great, although a little pricey. There are cheaper / freeware alternatives available though, should you wish to give it a go for yourself : )
I hope that helps. All the best!
If only I wasn't poor.
Haha, I think most of us have been there JD. Hope things pick up for you my man! ; )
@@IntotheBlueSimulations was mostly a joke. Im trying to save to get a half decent joystick(for DCS too) and they are so damn expensive.
Ah ok haha, best of luck with the saving then! : )
The Thumbnail Legend strikes again 👏😉
Haha! Thanks very much Jeff, glad you liked it! ; )
That ground is very boggy!!!
Haha indeed, it is a little bit “damp” Austin, yes! ; )
All the best!
Great review👍 Subscribed.
Thanks very much Orion, glad you enjoyed the video! Welcome aboard : )
Well done as always.
Thank you very much Tony, I’m glad you enjoyed it! Much appreciated and all the best : )
The plane is really freezed when floating static 🤣 Very unrealistic detail, hope Asobo improve it. But in other hand, I like the bouncing when take off, would be perfect with some water effects. Awesome video, thanks :)
The static behaviour was actually caused by me, Socorrista. The Norseman will bob up and down in the water, but the motion looked very unnatural close in to the jetty (and the aircraft also wanted to weathervane), so I opted to “freeze” the aircraft’s position in place for the intro / outro shots.
I’m really glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks very much for watching and all the best! : )
