- Welcome back to skyrim! Where today we set out on an impossible challenge! Can you beat the survive 100 days in Fallout 4 hardcore challenge? The rules are simple, Maximum difficulty Fallout 4 with survival mode. This is the hardest possible challenge Fallout 4 can offer. You are effectively playing at 1 hp and almost anything will kill you and fail the run. Ontop of that in survival mode you must eat and sleep similarly to an indie survival game. You must also balance temperatures which in the nuclear apocalypse of fallout 4 is rather impossible.

Survival is my favourite way to play FO4, Hobo build (if that's a thing lol) keeping notes of where I stashed things and getting lost running away from fights that are to tough, picking perks that let me eat and drink stuff I shouldn't, lucking my way through another night etc, awesome stuff lol

It's a really fun mode.
What's not fun?
The game randomly crashing because it's a Bethesda game.
You can play perfectly but because of the game engine, you can somehow set up the coding in the game by accident to just have it crash after a few steps after loading and your save file is softlocked and ruined

You can actually build functional sinks and functional drinking fountains in one of the furniture decorations tabs of settlement building. They don't add to your settlement's water statistic but it's infinite purified water that you can both drink and fill bottles at. It actually requires even less materials to build than a standard purifier or pump.
It just works.

The best part about lifestreams are the wonderful superchats. The favorites from this one are: "Hi Spiff, I went from years of homelessness to just having my own apartment for the first time in my life, here is some of my first earned money," and "Hi spiff, I'm several thousands into debt, do you have any tax exploits?" What a fantastic way to spend money when you absolutely should not 🤣
Yes for reference I spend most of this money on tea and dog biscuits so not the best use of everyone's money xD
You should try human food spiff. It's a great exploit for sustenance
Long term goal? Fix up the Citadel. Which means crossing the map and taking out a mirelurk queen. Fun!
I’m currently on that task in my survival play through, but I didn’t get lucky this time and don’t have my legendary two shot mini-nuke to take out the Queen.
You’re thinking of the Castle. The Citadel is the Brotherhood base in 3.
Also, I don’t know if you can fight the Queen before doing the Minutemen mission.

I was tryin to save up to leave and the "2-weeks tO fLaTtEn Da CuRve" cost me everything. I'm doin good now, hopefully I'll escape early next year. But we'll see
@@brosephbroman7564lockdowns did that for my family as well, had been saving for almost a decade to move out of Oregon and then lockdowns took both our jobs and we ended up having to use that savings just to survive. Now we are destitute and barely keeping a roof over our heads even with work. At least we never got the "just one shot and one booster" poison. Saying this as we now sit at booster number 7 I believe?

Love playing survival, it gives me a reason to actually use the settlement building system and while your damage taken is increased, the enemies aren't complete bullet sponges either. Adrenaline perks are awesome. Just takes a little setup b4 you can really get into exploring the commonwealth proper. Vats and power armor are your best friends
If you add in the real combat mod with survival mode it gets absolutely nuts. EVERYTHING except behemoths, death claws, and bears die in a single headshot, including you, and regular super mutants take 2 to 4 depending on the rank of the mutant. Makes every single fight extremely intense and really rewards forethought and good planning.

I suspect that Preston was stuck waiting for you to finish Sturges preliminary Sanctuary quest? Perhaps he wouldn't give you dialogue for the first Minutemen quest until you completed setting them up fully first.

If you really want a challenge, try the War of the Commonwealth and Arbitration mods. WotC for random encounters, and Arbitration helps those random encounter groups notice each other from farther distances, so you end up just coming across random battles already in progress.
My *_Magic_* brain seeing WotC not being used for Wizards of the Coast is _very_ confused.

2:58:25 Gas station is because it sells gasoline, a processed version of petroleum, so I can understand either phrase. Jam and jelly are actually different things. Jam is made from processed fruit where jelly is made from fruit juice, so if you are insisting on calling both jam, that is wrong. For example, a common one here is grape jelly, which is made from grape juice and does not have fruit solids in the creation

A survival challenge I would love to watch you play: “Walking Wastelander:” no sneaking allowed! You stay perpetually over-encumbered, from the beginning of the game you must loot everything, you can never drop loot or store loot, and you are only allowed to sell it, or break it down into scrap and junk. You must loot and carry everything you see, in every container and on every body unless it would result in stealing or committing a crime to do so. Of course you can still optionally commit crimes and steal at your leisure. Easy mode is with a follower of your choice. Hard mode is as a lone wanderer. Must be done on survival and again no sneaking allowed. The benefits of having everything you want and need on your person at all times is obvious, the draw backs of always being encumbered, keep the challenge consistent, even as you get the necessary perks to mitigate this. It’s the perfect challenge for a play through series, especially if you add a few patrol mods, as you’re pretty much always walking and vulnerable. The only mods that are allowed are mods that make the world more dangerous and pretty
Tips: swimming is fast even when over-encumbered, doesn’t count as sneaking, and mostly safe consider aquaboy/girl as a means for quick travel in certain areas. This is balanced out if you are reliant on power armor for combat
-You’ll have all of your crafting supplies wherever you go
-Melee and heavy weapons galore, burn ammo, hit hard, blow stuff up, and horde fusion cores
-consider endurance as a must and any perks elsewhere that increase survival ability
-AP is crucial, you can move quick without it, don’t underestimate how annoying it is to have low AP because your characters survival needs aren’t met
-running while over-encumbered in power armor counts as sprinting in power armor
-actionboy/girl

I tend to play as a pack rat, so i like having a base and collecting. I try to get perfect weapons of every type, stocked shelfs of each food and a comfy looking place. My last time playing, i used a base mod to make the storage organised. Had to destroy all the given items so i could truly be a collector.

He doesn't like power armor because he's using vanilla power armor, you slap some armor improvements and a good jetpack on one of those things with some mods and you can float about the battlefield like a death butterfly. Complete game changer for the better imo

Lotteries in the US are often state-run and usually have very low pay-out rates. A huge percentage of the lottery proceeds go to various causes, so you're supposed to donate for charitable reasons rather than to win money.

One thing to note about survival mode: unless Spiff has some other mod installed, you actually do MORE damage in survival normally. Enemies do 2x damage, but you do 1.5x damage under normal circumstances.
That isnt a permanent consistent thing. The base damage is lower. But adrenaline (automatically added perk in survival mode) increases it.
”Adrenaline is a perk that is granted automatically to the Sole Survivor when playing on survival mode. It provides a bonus to damage output and is increased by killing enemies. Every five kills made increase the Adrenaline rank, adding five percent bonus damage, up to a maximum of 50% at rank 10.”
Rank Requirements Effect
1 5 kills 5% bonus damage
2 10 kills 10% bonus damage
3 15 kills 15% bonus damage
4 20 kills 20% bonus damage
5 25 kills 25% bonus damage
6 30 kills 30% bonus damage
7 35 kills 35% bonus damage
8 40 kills 40% bonus damage
9 45 kills 45% bonus damage
10 50 kills 50% bonus damage
”Sleeping in a bed removes a certain amount of ranks, depending on the amount of time the Sole Survivor has slept. The first hour of sleep always costs two ranks, with the next four hours costing one rank each. Any additional hours slept will cost two ranks per hour.”
@@LitcheTheArsm No, trust me if you mess with stuff with mods you can see your default damage is 1.5x, I know because I often buff it to 2x just for fun. Adrenaline is an additional 50% on top of that.

survival its challange. beds important at least for stabalizing game cache otherwise its for checkpoint. also gouls are powerful on that difficulty espacially in a swarm.
also depending on the state of the activ game cache and also on ones luck it alters the state of enemy spawn swarms and these can be extremly deadly when they ocur.
with that in mind there is a chance per playthrew to have between 0 - infinite swarms depending gow long one plays and how lucky one is.
if npc glitch on survival go to concord / diffrent area then one is in then walk back. another option is restart the game and load. that only thing one could do if bugged. the chnage area is so it unloads and reloads the areas if size is increased you will have to walk further then if have shorter/ standard load cells. so for survival a just see able load area is better since on then easier can reload fix areas.

I don't know if you will see this message, Spiff, but the Dogmeat-Cryolator glitch still works. You just have to get Dogmeat into the small cage and then command him. He will pick it up and it will be in his inventory.
Fun fact. That blast would not have killed you. A man in japan surived 2 blasts by just diving into a ditch. He had severe burns but survived both.
It's not gasoline or indeed petrol sold at the vehicle service-station, or any form of petrochemical fuel --- In case you hadn't noticed it's the Fallout future in which they use atomic-fusion for fuel, so the "gas station" actually sells coolant, which may in fact be a gas or a liquid depending on how the vehicle's cooling system works. Similar to a refrigerator or air-con, it probably uses something similar to a Freon product, such as an HFC, in which case, calling it a "gas-station" is probably the more accurate description.
Not sure if Spiff will ever see this, but I started a survival run too without knowing they 'patched' out the Dogmeat/Cryolator exploit so I tried it anyway. While it didn't work immediately, it did eventually when I asked Dogmeat to find stuff while he was standing in the weapons locker that has the case.
Also, for Preston Garvey, you need to finish the first settlement quest he gives you. Once that is done he will accept being your companion. He needs to call you General first before he becomes a follower.
I wish there was a mod so when you take psycho, you'd hear Grog from Critical Role say "I would like to rage"

I'm not sure if you were using a mod, but survival mode damage is increased to 150% while the damage received is 200%.

Next-gen update means most mods from Vortex need updating, too, which is all up to the individual creators to do. I'm not updating purely because I want to keep all my mods, especially Sim Settlements 2.
Use the terminal you can activate that sentry bot or blow it up for 10 fusion cores
