Im sure Giannis/Luka/Joker would want to win the Olympic gold medal than the NBA championship. Its all about the pride and creating history for the country not all about money.
Nah , giannis wanted that ring bro lol , bro was 18 moving to Milwaukee when it was nothing
@@plugcap2604 nope if he can choose leading Greece to win 1st ever gold medal Olympics once every 4 yrs and the ring that is being played every yr something he has already done it. For Greece to win.a gold medal will be a fairytale and is more precious and much harder. 100% he will take a gold medal over another ring. Don't 4get he already rich. Gold medal will just add to his legacy.
@@plugcap2604 For international players from small countries winning an international tittle is a bigger deal.
@@jonpetter8921 you don’t know that lol , look at giannis reaction to winning mvp , an American sport award
@@plugcap2604 Ask players like Luka, Jokic, Lauri Markkanen, what is more important for them international titles for their countries or NBA titles i would bet they will pick the former.
Man forgot to mention the 2005 loss to Greece, 2002 to Argentina and last year’s World Cup to Lithuania
In the World Cup last year, they lost against Germany in the semi`s;-)
Didn't you see Giannis CRYING for simply making the Olympics? Pretty sure he'd prefer a gold medal (with Greece, not the USA...) over a second NBA title.
Cough cough EMBIED 😂cough cough
Making the olympics through European qualifiers is pretty hard, you know that right?
@@ZaferGazoz-1996 of course. My European country hasn't made it in 60 years, including this one...
Didn’t U17 and U18 boys basketball just win gold by beating every team by 50+ ?
Yeah but they’ll ignore that lol
It’s 17 and under . A bunch of kids
@@judahchild2612 if they was catching up their youth would be better than ours
Not the same. We talking men's national teams. USA still number 1 tho
70+
Who wouldn’t care of their country wins Olympic gold? 😂
The question was would any NBA player trade a gold medal for a NBA championship? None would FACTS!!!
This is the most talented team USA assembled in years, with great experience and full of winners with the best coaching staff.
One correction is that it is the most talented group of Individuals, not Team.
Look at Team USA, they only begun practising 3 days ago, Canada has been in the Gym together for 12 days and many played together in the national program while growing up.
I don’t think the world has caught up, but one thing to watch out for is our defense. We used to have elite two way players and now we emphasize offense so much. This way we are just trading baskets that makes it much easier for a team to beat us. In the past we are turned up on defense putting so much pressure on the ball and then the offense was just the icing on the cake.
That's probably why the included Jrue this time. Lock down perimeter defender. If overwhelming offense is not enough...
@@Jonteponte71 yeah but he only one person. And he’s gonna play behind someone else. So how many minutes is he really gonna play? And even still, will his offensive output justify playing him the extra minutes if needed?
There is no NBA player who would trade a championship for an Olympic gold.
Yeah ask Barkley if he would rather have his two gold medals, or a NBA championship ring
Melo has 3 gold medals and y'all can laugh but history has him written down as the most decorated male basketball player in the olympics.
@@kcalnekso? Championships mean more than medals.
@@theprophet25do they? That bank account means more than all of it
It's going to get much much harder to win gold
“the US has not performed well in recent world cups and exhibition games” are you people really this dumb?
What people don’t realize is other countries put a team together that have been playing together for years just to hope to beat a USA team that practices for two weeks together. That Germany team that won awhile back had over 5 players that have practiced together for over 9 years
Partially correct.
Many national teams are also made up of players who only get together two weeks before the official games. Especially over the past 7-8 years that FIBA and Euroleague (mostly) have conflicting schedules.
Now, the fact that these players know each other and have played together in young national squads or in earlier competitions says more about their dedication to their national team than anything else. The fact that Americans put together teams with no guaranteed connection or former experience is totally on them, is something that they seem to want to change and is also the main reason why in some instances the US falls to the international teams.
It definitely is not an excuse or justification for anything.
That's always the excuse americans make when they lose, but It's false, because those conditions are exactly the same for the rest of national teams.
@@romanosaraviadis that’s not true at all. The greatest international competition is the NBA. Now as far as Olympics though the main contenders always have a structure of about 5-8 players who have practiced together for years to prepare..besides the US who practice for two weeks with a coach they’ve never played for..This isn’t a guess or opinion you can just do the research yourself. And ps we’ve lost twice in over 20 years of dominance. I don’t think are gameplan is to shabby
So Americans would feel that winning a championship for his club is more relevant than winning for their country?
Yes , because that’s the best league to them
@plugcap2604 , stop that's silly. That's like saying the England football team should care more about the Premier league than the Euros or the World Cup. What a brain-dead take.
@@kesenaememere8520 i never said they should do anything , they just care about the nba more , rather u like it or not
If Europe would be a country you wouldn't have a chance anymore. But the biggest country in Europe has nearly 4 times less people then the US have. You can choose out of way more players. Good for you
If you put all the worlds talent on one team maybe outside of that no
We bout to find out bro.
We will find out soon
Team USA is still way better than the other teams in the world. But you could argue the world collectively is now better than USA for the first time.
Jokic, Giannis, Luka, Shai, Siakim, Markenan, Sabonis, Murray, Kristaps, OG, Franz Wagner, Giddy, Barret and Sengun are no joke.
And lets be Real Embiid is on that list too. But i guess its his choice to jump ship. I mean i guess hes gets to finally win lol
Oh wow greeny actually doing his radio show
The fact that you guys even question that shows that your insecurity level is at an all time high.I am a European and I can for sure tell you that you are the best😂
Every international team that plays the USA lines up to get their autographs after the game.
That should tell you what you need to know
Simple as that. For rest of the world winning a medal is a big deal, whereas for the US it's a big deal if they don't 😂
Still the best if you take it as a whole nation as European nations are small. But let's say we do USA vs Team Europe. Well that would be a different story.
The top of the NBA for sure belongs to the international players. Consensus top 5 rn has Joker, Embid, Giannis, and Luka in whatever order you like. Then you got Wemby who will eventually crack that within the next few years
if you don’t care about an olympic gold medal in basketball you’re not a real basketball fan
This is a horrible take
Olympics is the real deal. For almost everything , its even more important than world championships like fiba.
@@BronxBorn99its a great take
@@jmgonzales7701 the Olympics is not the highest level of competition for basketball, the NBA is. Just because there are more players and other countries involved doesn’t mean too much. Most international players that can compete at the highest level choose to play in the NBA for that reason alone.
@@BronxBorn99 hmm no. Nba is a club withim the US not an international competition.
It is the 🇺🇸 to lose!
In Europe basketball is a tiny sport compared to the US, plus the US is a lot bigger. So it is impossible for a European country to have the kind of depth in talent that the US has. Of course if you combine all the talents from all non US countries it is a different story, and then the team play vs individual play becomes a factor.
Its not even close.....
First of all, US wasn't robbed in 72, deal with it, secondly, for a non-american basketball fan the FIBA World Cup is at least as important as Olympics, if not more, third, FIBA has caught up with NBA level? to some extent yes, but to be fair, logic dictates that this particular US squad should win the olympic gold medal
USA b squad would still win gold just look at the talent that’s not even on this years team.
Dame, kyrie, Jaylen Brown, Ja morant, jalen Brunson, Donovan Mitchell, jimmy butler, Zion, D fox , Paul George, trae young, Maxey, Chet, JJJ etc etc.
Really? then what happened in the most recent FIBA World Cups? 🤡🤡🤡💩💩
@@JulioLeonFandinho, Facts.
Honestly, its for the Americans to lose the gold. There isn't a question about the credibility to win gold, unlike the last time.
Nope. The only way a national team could beat USA is to have multiple NBA level players on the squad.
Canada and all them still getting smoked
Which several other teams do have this time.
@@Jonteponte71 So when the USA team wins gold it will be obvious to everyone where the best basketball in the world is played
Well greece defeated usa in 2005 with Euroleague players bro. Also lithuania last year. Very few nba palyers. 😢@@I.am_Groot
USA's first A, A+ team since redeem team
Yes we have more numbers and talent if we want play hard but if we just joking around some teams can beat us...but watch out the gap is closing every year
the one place that produces an exorbitant amount of basketball talent are the balkans and its not just recently they have through out time so places like croatia bosnia serbia slovenia etc if they were still under the same banner under yugoslavia i dont thinik america would go into these Olympics as the heavy favorites what so ever .. just imagine the starting 5 they would have bonkers
“Other countries are catching up”
11 of 15 all nba players are American.
Europe isn’t a country, it’s a continent. So if you say the continent of Europe is catching up with the United States of America……that’s 3 of 15 all nba players.
The players that play in the Euroleague are really good as well. You don't seem to be counting those. That's the whole point of this convo. You are looking at the tree and miss a whole forest behind it. Did you really expect euro players to be more than American players in the US national league? That's absurd isn't it? Its your NATIONAL league , not an INTERNATIONAL league
Since this was clipped, I thought maybe it had something worth listening to. My bad.
Most of the European young players, play on professional teams not all-star teams.
The US is no longer the uncontested definitive best in the world. You can't even call the NBA champion world champion. Yeah, even the best European players play there, but that's just ridiculous. The whole thing is absurd. If the league is north american, you're the champion of north america. Stop extrapolating just because you think it might. That's not how it works. And in terms of national team, yeah, the US will win most times but not every time. That ship has sailed.
Top 2 players per team that's foreign...
Shai, Giannis, Victor, luka, Lauri, Franz, joker & Murray.... The other 52 are American
THESE aren't Americans playing Americans rules. American RULES ARE NAISMITH RULES, NOT EURO SECOND HAND RULES
Jaylen Brown should've made Team USA
Agree 100%. He could play the wing defender role that Kawhi will probably play and would be less of an injury risk.
Every 4 years we have this conversation... Obviously as basketball continues to grow globally, US dominance will gradually become less pronounced. However, the fact of the matter is that soccer will continue to funnel all the best athletes in other countries away from BBall. Even though height can be a detriment in soccer, there are a lot of 6-9/6-10 guys who would have been all-time great basketball players but grow up wanting to be soccer players.
Additionally, basketball is just a tiny sport in Europe, it is not as if every big guy that stops playing soccer will start playing basketball. It is a sport that is not even on most people’s radar.
Just look at how it works with soccer in the US, even though it is the biggest country in the developed sports world, the number of great US soccer players is zero. Because there is just not a culture of every boy playing soccer from a very young age that exists in the rest of the world. In basketball it is the other way round.
Yall swear KD not that guy but yall media teams not on the same page
Yes they have
Dumb Question 😅😅
Some individuals have but not enough to win the gold. We got a first team out there now. If we put our 2nd and 3rd team we still winning. Just facts. Now and world team vs USA might be different but don’t take my word for it. Watch and see.
We will get our facts after USA plays Canada exhibition game on the 10th. If they don't slaughter them like France did Germany, then Houston we got a problem. And yes France lost by a mere 5 to Germany the 2nd game after the slaughter.. why? Because Wemby was out and resting lol. Not to mention Team USA has an ego problem to overcome. You have so many captains on one ship.
The answer is NO Greeny. USA has the best and deepest basketball roster in the world.

How many Olympic gold medals have we won in a row now??? Just bc the NBA has fixed the rules to allow these guys to thrive just so that they can grow the game globally doesn’t mean the world has caught up. The world hasn't caught up because the US is still producing better players overall.
There may be a few great players from overseas but the vast majority of the NBA is filled with American players and team USA has more depth than all of the other teams combined.

Dream Team didn't play against great international competition back then. The game was relatively new to many of the countries they faced. As much as it pains me to say this, but i gotta keep it real, their dominance was a tab bit over hyped. They were supposed to win those games. The redeem team with Kobe, LBJ, and Melo was better. That team played against far superior competition.
