The Warriors don't have 4 tradable firsts where are you getting that from? Are you thinking 25/27/29/30? They can't because of Stepien. They didnt have a 2024 first so they can't trade 25. That relegates them to 26/28/ and the partial in 2030. So 2 1/2 picks. Am I missing something?
Stepien rule applies to all 1st round picks, not just the picks for the team in question.
So Warriors can trade their 2025 (swap), 2026, 2027 (swap), 2028, 2029 (swap), & 2031 (swap).
They technically have 6 tradable 1st round picks, with 4 of those needing swap rights.
2030 was sent to Washington last year in the CP3-Poole trade, protected top 20 though so those 1-19 rights can still be traded.
@@jhank0cean I am well aware Swaps don't count for Stepien. When Windy is saying they have 4 1sts to send I can 100% promise he is not referring to swaps. Swaps aren't first round picks to trade. They are swaps. No one has ever referred to a swap as a first round pick. So no they don't have 6 tradable 1st round picks.

I don’t think the jazz have a plan. All they want is draft picks. Danny doesn’t know how to build or win with a small market. What he is doing works in big markets because you can get big-time free easier, but not in a smaller market, you have to take what you can get and build your team up and that means you’re not getting high draft picks, you’re making those draft picks better players with superior coaching which I don’t think Utah has right now either. Danny has single-handedly ran this franchise into the ground

I dont think Lauri qualifies for a no trade clause: needs to be in NBA for 8 years and same team for 4 years to qualify. Neither applies to him yet
No way is Markkanen walking away from that money, particularly for someone in his prime who is not a superstar and is somewhat injury prone, never playing more than 68 games and playing in only 55 games last year. The Jazz will sign him on August 6th and trade him in accordance to how well their tanking strategy is going. The Jazz have been jerking him around from the beginning with the negotiations and the ongoing tanking; so, I think at the end of the day, Lauri will take the money and prepare to be heading elsewhere sometime in the future.
Lauri was healthy to play last season but they were tanking. I mean all players have minor injuries but they fight to get playoff. Jazz did fight to stay away playoff.

Markkanen was shut down in late March due to re-aggravating an earlier shoulder injury, and prior to the Olympics, Basketball Finland announced that Markkanen would not participate in the Olympics because of the same injury that ended his season in Utah. Also, he missed significant time at the beginning of last season due to a hamstring injury.
@@docwiltro I know a bit Lauris situation personally. He sure was not 100% but he was not badly injured either. Its big year for him and he would only play if Finland has make it to Olympics.
