only thing i don´t get is if team usa is so dominant then why aren´t they including 2,3 young players to have them experience that competition while learning from the vets .
Exactly. They do this on World Cup teams all the time. It’s not unusual for soccer or basketball teams to groom future star(s) at the Olympics or World Cup games.

I became a Kobe fan that’s why I watch NBA now I became Tom Brady fan that’s why I watch NFL now Even I don’t watch golf, Tiger is the only reason I pay attention to golf Same for David Beckham and etc And this is the reason fans fall in love with sports, first they pay attention to that particular player then falls in love with the sport and supports them. There are many players in WNBA awesome, amazing basketball players but sometimes there is just someone truly special thats CC! And you don’t put that person to your Olympics team? I’m sure CC use this feeling and get even better.
@John-PaulHunt-pv6ol The Olympics is a scam run by corrupt oligarchs. It's origins in some glorious ideal of "amateurism" was put in place so that only the upper class, who had enough money and time to train for the Games, could participate.. It's a false front, a facade, The scam runs on gullibility and naivete.
Plus, why is Chelsea Gray, who’s recovering from a broken leg, prioritizing the Olympics over being fully ready to go back to work for her employer?!?!?!?
I think the only reason she fits is that she is probably ok playing the least amount of minutes. She will argue with no one while she is still good enough.
My guess is in the end Gray gets replaced due to injury. But will it be Clark who replaces her? Probably not.... Other players are more deserving but her brand is so big and that make her too big to pass up $$$!
WNBA players dont make enough money to warrant missing out on an olympic gold medal...her real employer is the european team she plays for during the winter
If CC is taking someone’s opportunity away so is DT. And DT already has what, 5-6 gold medals? She needs to pass the baton. If anyone is being selfish, it’s her. She’s not only taking a spot away and not helping grow the sport.
Already has 5, this will be #6. I don’t fault DT for accepting the opportunity given to her by the committee because she’s a player but the committee shouldn’t have done that
She is a straight white woman with basketball skills that few have seen in the WNBA before. She is not a drama queen. All she wants to do is play basketball.
The committee does not want the backlash from the veterans and frankly the entire league for putting CC on the squad. The league/players resent CC getting the endorsements and the TV coverage.
They don't resent endorsements or ratings - bc that increases their pocket books... But what they don't appreciate is people acting like Clark is the "Face of the league" when she cant even lead the league in any category - including assists, not top 5 in scoring, not even close in any defensive category etc.
I’m old and have never had interest in wbb until Caitlin caught my eye. Now I love the game, thanks to her. She’s just different. People are drawn to her
Caitlin is NOT a bad player and the team USA will benefit alot by bringing her to the olympics!! Even south east asians are now watching the wnba because of her!! And what they said about picking the team for winning instead of marketing thats totally BS!! She can play and she WILL play better than some of the players they picked!!
her play in the wnba is bcos of the focused attention to show her up and a lack of good enough teammates. on the olympic team, no team can double or triple team her. she will have better stats.Eye popping assists, logo threes etc. its a no brainer
The Olympics are not about growing a game or ratings, they are about winning. She is not in the top 15 wnba players right now. In 4 years when she earns a spot this won’t matter.
@@stevens26 Team USA has won 7 straight Gold Medals and blow out 99% of their opponents. Adding the a player in Clark who brings attention to Women hoops would be massive and I agree she isn't top 15 player.

Nobody have asked for nobody to kiss CCs feet…people are asking for these crazy women to be clean, play hard against her, in all fair play and sportsmanship. Also recognize her value, say hey we have been fighting for this attention for so long, thanks CC for finally taking us where we have been trying to get…hey I just want to meet her and see what’s behind the beautiful smile, the trash talk in the court and the logo threes , with the passing skills, and we hope it will get us to better place, with better pay and opportunities for all of us…we want her to know though, that we won’t make it any easy on her…but she amazing, has done amazing things for the sport and at college level. We have to consider her one of the best to ever play at college level, ring , no ring..because it’s a team sport, but as individual athlete she accomplished more than any other women, and she broke men’s records too, she is a great conversation piece for us..We can tell curry, hey you won the three point competition against Sabrina, but one of us already broke your record from college more 3s in a season, and she scores for as far as you do…hey MJ you are amazing, the greatest , but look one of us put up a 40 points triple double in D1 tournament, you never did, nor did KD, DW, LB…with pride they could do that…in all good spirits. But instead, reality s coming, well is not just her , we were here first, and there was Rebecca, Moore, DT, SS, CP, all of them, which is true, but people did not care … And if you pay attention, CC has but kind words of admiration for all those players, she and her family have been supporters of the league for years, she would ask to be taken to games..And I get it, some people thought she would fly through the league like a storm. But not her, she was always candid and realistic of the adaptation process. She is not the one putting herself in every wnba marketing video of the draft…it was your own league trying to help U..all..trying to help U where you wanted to go…sometimes that’s what it takes, (watch the last dance and you will see MJ say at times he hopes his teammates would understand that some of the things he told them at a given moment, he considered at that time necessary in order to achieve their common goal) but CC it’s not at fault for it. She just wanted to play and follow her dreams, which by the way, some she shares with all of the league players…none of these players looked at this big picture with positive energy. Since the beginning it has been resentment, warnings..we all saw what Carter did, we all saw Angel Reese celebrate the attack. The rage..does not allowed for them to think..she could have been paralyzed with a broken neck, because of the whiplash given the force of the hit..and the surprise, like being rear ended while waiting for a green light in traffic. ..when I saw Arike Ogunbowale embrace CC at the end of the first preseason game fever vs wins..I was hopeful…I watch Breanna S and other player of the liberty, jokingly surrounding Clark as in we are going to double team you and you will go nowhere…and I was hopeful…but instead we got Carter, and Reese, and then Lloyd, who could have said hey we have had crowds similar to this at some point, but never something like this in the first few games of the season, and yeah you are right (to the journalist) its thanks to the rookie class popularity, specially CC..we are happy to see the arena like this and the atmosphere, amazing, and we appreciate it ( that’s class, sportsmanship, honor where honor is due) it wouldn’t hurt anyone..pettiness and jealousy does hurt..sickness the soul…instead Lloyd said, ooh yeah yeah, we are used to play in front of crowds like this… and the journalist had to tell her, no I am sorry, but you are not…there were 10 K people in that Seattle arena, above the average attendance…how do you expect people to react to that…let’s be honest ..
Hey! Maybe those WNBA girls could ask THEM for some money. Because hittin' up NBA players for cash isn't much different than scopin' out the fancy bars for drunk old guys at closing time.
All I know is that I’m going to be 50 years old this year, and I never saw a WNBA game until Caitlin Clark showed up. And I’m not a Caucasian guy neither. If the players want to grow their income from beyond $250,000 a year in top tier salary, they need people like me to be interested in filling seats, purchasing fan gear, and watching games on tv. Without marketing the product, you don’t get to the endgame of the desired outcome. The women need to stop being jealous of their own and don’t kill the goose who is laying the golden egg for them.
They should’ve put her on the team because it’s what fans want. 90% of y’all didn’t care about women’s basketball until CC and another 7% of y’all lying saying you did.
The big problem is two of the guards that are on the team. D Tarasi and Gray are not better than she is currently. All you have to do is look at the stats and compare Tarausi to Clark and she’s not as good. Clark has more points per game, more rebounds per game more steals per game and the assist is not even close. Shouldn’t that be a pretty important stat for a guard? Clark has 6.3 assist per game and DT has a terrible 1.6 Clark actually even has a better turnover to assist ratio because DT never passes. I guess And Gray hasn’t played a single game in 10 months and it’s still questionable for the rest of the WNBA season. So how do you put her on and think in four weeks she’s gonna be a top 15 top 20 basketball player? There are probably 6 to 7 other guards besides Clark that should be on that team ahead of those two. The only reason. Tarasi is on is because she’s been there forever and they feel like they can’t cut her. Tarasi along with at least two or three others were put on the team as rookies at the age of 22 so that is not an excuse to say why she didn’t make it. Again, I’m not saying Clark should be on that team, but those two definitely should not be. and if they actually wanted to “grow the game” then you want to get as many viewers as possible and it’s pretty obvious from what’s happened in the WNBA so far the only games drawing 1,000,000+ viewers are the ones Clark is playing in all the rest are drawing 200,000 to 300,000 viewers. They have the worst ratings and the worst in person attendance now. Clark been on this team. I guarantee you all the euros would be going to the games just to see what all the hype is about. Now they’ll have nobody at their games, which is sad.
I’ve told my boss many times that I can’t put his thanks in my pocket. The same goes for the WNBA players who have won 7 Olympic gold medals and received thanks, but over the last 28 years, the WNBA salary cap has still been under $250,000 per year. WNBA players, please help me help you to open your eyes! Period!
The main point is whether we want to help the WNBA grow. Do you know why Ms. Griner had to play overseas to earn extra money and ended up in jail? It's all about MONEY! If we don't open our minds to this issue, the WNBA will forever have a salary cap of $250,000 per year. Period!
They left CC of the team to prove a point. That they will not fall for the hype like everyone else is. But hype is what is needed to start momentum. What do you think advertising is all about? CC is advertising for the wnba that you cannot buy. It's real, organic, human excitement that nobody can deny.
Mental picture: CC is on the Olympic team, but not a starter, and that’s fair… but the game is straight up over capacity! 15 min in the game, she stands up and unzips her sweats. The crowd begins to cheer. Time out is called… she steps on the court… the place is so loud, players can’t hear the whistle to resume play. And the WNBA botched this…?
Sports in general is an entertainment biz. The USA Olympic committee and the WNBA apparently don't have anyone with any sense of the marketing boon it would be for the growth of womens b-ball in the USA and WNBA.
I blame Diana Taurasi, Dawn Staley & Cheryl Reeve for refusing to select Clark for the Roster due to their hate for her. Cheryl Reeve's has been seen making petty posts and comments on twitter regarding Clark with the hashtag #theWismorethanoneplayer Diana Taurasi indirectly threw shade at Caitlin Clark when asked during an interview how she felt about the snub ordeal and she said that "Yes, I made Team USA as a rookie after winning the natty 3 times" Obviously pointing out that Caitlin never did. Dawn Staley also has been known to indirectly throw shade at Caitlin while simultaneously praising her NCAA accomplisments(media trained), Dawn Faced Iowa in the Final four in 2023 and lost 77 - 73. In 2024 she got her revenge and won vs. Iowa 75 - 87. Even tho she got her revenge Dawn has made comments regarding her not being pleased about the unfair treatment other players worthy of the praise aren't getting compared to Clark
The argument that Caitlyn would only be on the Olympic team to grow the game is erroneous. She is top 5 in a few statistical categories in the league as a rookie! She would grow the came while fitting right along with the best players in the league because she's already there! Anyone who knows ball knows that! Stop pretending like the women's league is only known to people who supported it before Caitlyn's arrival! It never had good ratings, therefore, it didn't have real support. I hear people referring to Caitlyn's fans as the new WNBA supporters. Most of them are basketball fans to begin with, and people are now following this player because she is exceptional on the court. Not because she is white, not because she is straight, but because she is the best women's college player ever! That's the only reason why the WNBA is getting attention now, because she's in it!

All good points, but the women of the WNBA have been bitching about pay, what they feel they should get/be entitled too. This opportunity may not present itself again for a long time. If that's the case, then shut the eff up and take what you get when everyone currently interested walks away.
If she was on the team.. people would complain about her starting, minutes, and standing in the center when getting the gold.. it’s not good to baby her

I would’ve gladly put Caitlin in her position not my opinion. Would’ve been the no-brainer basically Brittany Greiner is being rewarded for misbehavior.

Only one reason why Caitlin was not selected by the Olympic Organizing Committee, and that is ENVY. All you have to do is to look at the people responsible for the final line-up.
I would argue that she is one of the 12 best. Nobody is guarded like her and she still averaging 16 points and 4th in assists. Statistically she has better numbers than 75% of the roster and better in every category than Diana. It's evny and jealousy. For instance can we say definitely that Clark will play that long? See we disrespect anyone when we don't agree with things and send strays. She is a top 15 international player, and this roster wasn't constructed based on the WNBA season. They were invited to Camp. Clark was as well, but couldn't make it due to her teams success in the tournament. This team has been training together for 3 years. Clark would have missed 2 of those camps because of the tournament. Even those injured players played in the camp that Clark missed, so they have the chemistry together. And DT was holding her own at the Olympic tryouts. What you don't realize is that Taurasi because of her OG status also is getting everyone's best shot. Taurasi on top of winning three chips in college and 3 chips in WNBA also has the highest career scoring average in the WNBA. So much for her just being apart of those UConn teams. 2 Finals MVPS, one MVP to name a few, but internationally she has 20 championships between the Euro, Turkish, and Russian leagues with three player of the years over there, not counting the 5 gold medals and world championships she helped win for the US. She is arguably one of the best international players ever as well as domestic, and she is very capable of holding her own in international basketball. There is no way she comes off this squad. They will cave however, and Clark will be on the team so relax. I'm just saying no need to send strays. @@NeighborTom and CC is not number 1 in either of the stats you mentioned. Alyssa Thomas is the assist leader. Kayla McBride is the 3-point leader. So, just because you say it doesn’t make it true. CC is not to blame for the rightful backlash that has come with the media’s, and some of the public’s, desire to paint her as something more than she is in this moment. She is a very good basketball player. But, in the W she is a rookie that is still learning how to play at that level. There are 2 arguments. One, is that CC is a marketing juggernaut for the league. Very true. The second argument is that CC is not the best player in the W. Not even close. This is also true. There are women in the W that are absolutely sensational to watch. I hope that this newfound attention sheds light on some of these deserving women, as well.
This issue to me is there are some other players on the team. That shuld not be Brittany Griner is one. Tarausi is another. Pick two other more deserving players. They dont have to be Clark. There are more than two other players in the W that are better than those two thats the issue
Has anyone talked about having a player type like her on the team to spread the defense. Has anyone seen an nba game lately? Imagine if she was on a team where they couldn’t blitz, double, or face guard her. Just from a basketball standpoint it makes sense.
To answer your question, it's the coach's skill and experience that matters. The coach needs to effectively utilize the situation when two players trap Caitlin. This creates more open space for her teammates to score.
Not many people know all of these so called WNBA greats globally. I’m in Australia and I like many want to see CC at the biggest stage even as a rookie. Magic and Bird on their last legs played for the dream team instead of all NBA Dominique and Iseah for a reason - to market the game globally. CC is the only who can do that from WNBA perspective This is the platform to make it a global product. Not something that only a few cares 😊

The argument that Caitlin is not good enough to be on the team is dishonest and I am tired of shows like this enabling that point of view. She has just as good if not better stats than at least 4 players on this team. She is 13th in scoring and 4th in assists for one. Two, one of the women has not even played a game and Griner has only played 1 her stats are better than plums and just as good as Turasi's. So just stop it with that it is a very dishonest take. If there was merit to it I would not be saying anything but its not true and I am so sick of the dishonesty overall in reporting. All the time I see myself listening to things that are not true, or the proper context is not given. And this is one of them. She also would have gotten playing time naturally because some of these games are going to be blowout wins, so stop with that idiotic take too.
Thanks to Hembo for pointing out that she's not actually a struggling newb. She's playing extremely well considering the circumstances. She's facing more defensive pressure than anyone in the WNBA, and is still playing well. This also appears to have eluded USAWB. Imagine how good she would be on a team of the best players in the world? Especially against players that aren't even in the WNBA, in most cases, or aren't nearly as good as she is. How about not having to face constant double teams, on top of 94ft defense? She would eat that up right now! She's still going to get 94ft because EVERYONE knows that's who she is. But zero double teams because her teamates are even more dangerous? Everyone should be asking themselves, what if she played with the best the USA has to offer, and what that would do for the game!
her team had a losing record last year she was a liability when she wasn't even on the team. you know what her record was in college and she hasn't gotten taller so what are u talking about. they win gold no matter who is going
If you win Gold in an obscure sport, does it have the same cache as winning Gold in a prime time sport? Woman’s basketball is not prime time. Most people probably didn’t even know they were winning Golds. But with Caitlin, you can potentially do both. Win gold and make this prime time. Huge difference between winning gold in the 100m sprint or speed walking. Let’s get honest about this.
Bro we are trying to keep winning gold and we are not going to do that if we have caitlyn over there just giving them the ball ..plus the women over there are 10 time more ruthless she wouldnt make it out alive and i dont wanna hear cc fans cry during whole olympic...pack her up please and talk about performance last night
Sports on a stage only exist because of the audience. If no one cares about the game, does the game matter or exist? CC brings the audience and deserves to be in the Olympics.
The best way to see the whole Caitlin Clark situation more clearly is replace Caitlin Clark's name with " Tiger Woods " even before he won a golf tournament and you'll see how silly and those arguing against Caitlin Clark are. Should Rookie Tiger Woods have had to thank and deferred to all those who came before him in the PGA ?? LMAO!!! Never watched a PGA event before Tiger. Never watched a PGA event without Tiger - even when he was past his prime.
If it is not Bigotry and or Jealouy explain this. The USA Women's Basketball team has included numerous rookies in their Olympic squads over the years. While the exact number of rookies per Olympic roster can vary, here are some notable examples of rookies who have made their Olympic debuts in recent years: 1996 Atlanta Olympics: The team included several rookies such as Lisa Leslie, who later became one of the most celebrated players in women's basketball. 2000 Sydney Olympics: This team saw rookies like Tamika Catchings and Katie Smith making their debuts. 2004 Athens Olympics: Notable rookies included Diana Taurasi, who would go on to become a key player for the team in subsequent years. 2008 Beijing Olympics: This team featured Sylvia Fowles as a rookie. 2012 London Olympics: Maya Moore made her Olympic debut as a rookie. 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics: Breanna Stewart and Elena Delle Donne were among the rookies on this team. 2020 Tokyo Olympics: Rookies included Ariel Atkins and Napheesa Collier. Each Olympic cycle typically introduces a few new players to the team, depending on the team's needs and the emergence of new talent. However, the exact number can vary with each Olympic roster. Overall, the integration of rookies has been a common practice, ensuring a blend of experienced veterans and fresh talent on the team.
Now i see why the wnba has struggled for so long. They don't know who their bosses are: the fans. They think THEY own the game as 144 collective. They don't. Fans own the game. If fans want more CC , give em more cc. That includes in usa jersey. Otherwise you go against the ultimate immovable wall. Especially nowadays with this social media thing. And this idea that the national team and the wnba are these discrete entities is ridiculous. They both feed of and supply the same thing: fans. The sooner they get that like NBA did in the 90s the better. One player catalysed the mass consumption of basketball then too.
Sue Bird 🕊️ has dual citizenship and had played for 3 teams in Russia. Men barely respect Coach Pat Summit surpassed Woodens Records. Someone who studies spoets and respects the awards in the WNBA it would help. This has been in the work since 1973.
That's because Pat Summit had loaded teams when most of the other teams in women's college hoops had 5'3" guards and half their roster couldn't make lay-ups. As soon as Geno caught up talent-wise, she stopped winning titles.
@@RobbieStacks90 She's also the Coach of the Century, was awarded a medal of freedom, coached the 1984 team. Kim Mulkey was on that team. Orange 🧡 is the color for UT. No one still remember the VOLS?
Pat Summit was great for the women's game. Wooden was great for the men's game....The common denominator is basketball. There is no comparison between talent levels of the two and should always be separated as such. You can take the top high school boys varsity basketball team and they will beat the top women's college and WNBA team every night. ..Lets appreciate the women for what they do and quit comparing their accomplishments to men. The two are not equal....It CC 47 more games and 500 3 pointers to surpass Pete Maravich's record.. In sports, the disparity in numbers matters.
@@MMBeing Respect the Coach and the code set designed. Taurasi is going because of a fan favorite award to honor the best from the first 25 years of the league. Candace Parker was coached by Summit.
@@MsNerdsRevenge I have much respect for coach Summit and what she accomplished. The same for coach Wooden and what he accomplished.. You cannot compare the two coaches or the two sports....Women's sports and Men's sports are not and cannot be compared so stop it. Serena Williams, the goat female tennis player said there is no way should could compete with the top men, they are just too powerful she said...Florence Joyner holds the world record for women in the 100 meter dash at 10.49...That time would not even make the TOP 200 men's all time...Lets appreciate women's sports for women's sports..
She's a rookie. Your not looking at the big picture. She also is the leading rookie scorer. She's in top 5 offensive stats. Defense will come. Most popular female athlete on the planet. Yeah dont put her on the team. Brilliant move!!
Besides Gretzky, Tiger, LeBron, etc...maybe sticking to golf, one of Greeny's favorite sports...another close comparison to Caitlin Clark would be Michelle Wie. She had a ton of fanfare. Broadcasts would have her in featured groups...show all of her shots...there were lots of endorsements coming her way that were bigger than what established LPGA stars were making. Some golf fans questioned her participating in a PGA event before she had ever won an LPGA evernt. And the LGPA at the time was probably closer to fighting for deserved visibility at the time in a similar way to the WNBA. And to this day, although she picked up a lot of fans, won some tournaments and ended up a Major winner (US Women's Open) there are still golf fans who are divisive about Michelle Wie.
I love how the media love to feed the 'jealous women' and 'resentful ungrateful bi***s' narrative. WNBA players are not 'jealous' or 'resentful' of Clark. She gets treated like rookies get treated for the same reasons rookies get treated that way. You going to let the new guy at work show you up? You not going to try and test a ballyhooed new guy to see if they're all that? The amount of extra effort you will spend is proportional to the fanfare a rookie comes into the league with. The East refused to even pass Jordan the ball in his first All Star game, that's shade. But, that's only part. She gets the defensive attention and physical play she does because she has not shown she can handle it much less make defenses pay for it. If Jewell Loyd or Kelsey Plum turned the ball over, threw the offense out of whack, couldn't punish it they'd be pressure defended 94' and blitzed on pick and roll just as much as Caitlin is now. Not only don't you want her heating up and having a rookie make a fool of you but the way the Fever's offense is constructed Clark is the center and really sole option. You give a professional team one thing to stop and their defense will shut that one thing down. Caitlin gets the 94' treatment not because they hate her or are jealous of her but because she's the weak link, because doing so gains your team so much and costs nothing. At some point Clark will learn how to punish a blitz, at some point she'll develop better off ball skills, at some point the Fever will learn to function as more than a Caitlin Clark show. If not then Clark will go down as the biggest bust in WNBA history so I'm hoping she can learn with experience and become a player to match her talent. BTW: Clark is a top 50'ish player in the world right now not top 20. She isn't even a top 20 WNBA player. Aside from being maybe the 30th'sh best player in the WNBA there are some excellent ballers in the EuroLeague, the W does not scout outside the US as much or as deep as the NBA and does not have the roster room or salary space to go after them and many are playing the equivelnt in the Europe Club system to AAA baseball from 13-16 years old and not eligible for NCAA like the men who come over to the NBA. There are female versions of Luka Dončić, Nikola Jokić, Kristaps Porziņģis, Victor Wembanyama playing in the EuroLeage right now. Europe has taken Women's Basketball more serious for longer than the USA. If it were an All EU team instead of country by country I'd be inclined to favor the EU team if played under FIBA rules and style like the Olympics are. Seriously, look up film on Emma Meesseman, Marine Johannes, Cecilia Zandalasini, Alina Iagupova, Satou Sabally. Those 5 vs Team USA would be a game and that is less than a full list of WNBA quality level players. And, from a pure basketball as a team sport I'm not sure there are not two or three current college players that aren't better, JuJu, Hannah Hidalgo, Paige....may or may not be depending on what you're assessing by. At least if you're looking at all around play and not just shooting.
i agree it is the media that is making it seem like CC is weak and all that. she isn't a baby. wnba has been a physical game. people who just started watching it because of clark are now just realizing this.
That's a good business decision. The last thing you wanna do if you're the WNBA is start screwing around with the notion of putting out a quality product.
Caitlin Clark is not a top 25 player in the league, that's absurd. She's inefficient, she's bad at defense, she hurts her team every night with turnovers and never getting back on defense. She is not a good player yet. The guy has no idea what he's talking about and simplifying it as jealousy and resentment is ridiculous.
I’ll admit, before CC, I didn’t know a single WNBA player. I now know at least 3: CC, Reese, and Brink. They all know how to use social media effectively, and they are forming a new generation of celebrity athletes in the league, and the entire league will benefit.
Nobody should be Torn about a player that doesn't Deserve a Spot on the Team. She isn't yet playing well and she isn't good at building TEAM Chemistry on her own Team. So what's to be all Torn over about. Heck, she isn't even the Best Rookie of 2024.
That has to do with coaching....if you got bullied and fouled hard and non of your teammates step in to defend you would you be interested in building chemistry lol fk no that may be another reason
It’s hard to justify her being on the team for anything other than publicity. She’s one of the biggest draws in sports but she’s not one of the best WNBA players yet

But instead, reality s coming, well is not just her , we were here first, and there was Rebecca, Moore, DT, SS, CP, all of them, which is true, but people did not care …
And if you pay attention, CC has but kind words of admiration for all those players, she and her family have been supporters of the league for years, she would ask to be taken to games..And I get it, some people thought she would fly through the league like a storm.

Mental picture:
CC is on the Olympic team, but not a starter, and that’s fair… but the game is straight up over capacity!
15 min in the game, she stands up and unzips her sweats. The crowd begins to cheer.
Time out is called… she steps on the court… the place is so loud, players can’t hear the whistle to resume play.
And the WNBA botched this…?
Michael Jordan was the last time we saw anything like Caitlin Clark LeBron was anointed but he didn't face the same animosity from the vets
nobody complained when Jordan shined.. but when CC shines ...its diff... call it like you want.

Clark has played 12 games against 8 different teams and each team has 12 players. If you clark "fans" haven't been paying attention to the W as a WHOLE yet how would the Olympics be any different
@@magyare10 Whether we like it or not, that is the case for any sports leagues for a long time. You need 1 or 2 players to be the draw. That's why there's this thing called "face of the league".
She is 42 in a league full of youngins averaging the same pts as Clark, and a better three point %. What you are trying to put out as a diss is really a compliment. Its crazy how someone can help you win 5 gold medals then you want to scrap them for someone with no experience because they are popular.

*6) She Is the American and International #1 WNBA fan favorite*
*7) Her presence & participation increases WNBA visibility & Olympic viewership*
*8) She brings more curiosity to Women's Pro Basketball*
*9) Game viewership both on TV and in the stadium increases*
*10) More advertising, revenue, jersey sales and recognition comes to the players*
*Clark has enough cachet to be on Women's Olympic Basketball team and the U.S Women can still win the Gold Metal and still reap all the benefits, her taking another players spot won't be detrimental to the team accomplishing it's goal, how can anyone not cease a gifted opportunity, capitalized on it and just go with it, because it makes to much sense?*

There are 2 arguments. One, is that CC is a marketing juggernaut for the league. Very true. The second argument is that CC is not the best player in the W. Not even close. This is also true. I agree with you! But I believe Caitlyn Clark needs a rest! She hadn't had a break since college!
This issue to me is there are some other players on the team.
That shuld not be Brittany Griner is one. Tarausi is another. Pick two other more deserving players. They dont have to be Clark. There are more than two other players in the W that are better than those two thats the issue

To answer your question, it's the coach's skill and experience that matters. The coach needs to effectively utilize the situation when two players trap Caitlin. This creates more open space for her teammates to score.
But if you hate your own country. Should you deserve a spot to represent said country?
Not many people know all of these so called WNBA greats globally. I’m in Australia and I like many want to see CC at the biggest stage even as a rookie. The USA Women's Basketball team has included numerous rookies in their Olympic squads over the years. While the exact number of rookies per Olympic roster can vary, here are some notable examples of rookies who have made their Olympic debuts in recent years:
1996 Atlanta Olympics: The team included several rookies such as Lisa Leslie, who later became one of the most celebrated players in women's basketball.
I'm only watching this video because it is about CC.
Imagine your daughter worked her whole life for something and someone takes the opportunity because their popularity..
She should be on the team due to popularity. The guy saying she isn’t because of jealousy and resentment though is an idiot. Period.

Pat Summit was great for the women's game. Wooden was great for the men's game....The common denominator is basketball. There is no comparison between talent levels of the two and should always be separated as such. You can take the top high school boys varsity basketball team and they will beat the top women's college and WNBA team every night. ..Lets appreciate the women for what they do and quit comparing their accomplishments to men. if you want a record number to watch you play CC , if not then dont let her play. The question is , do you wanna make more money.
Yea. You’re a great analyst. I’ll bet you’re a pro.

The crazy part about the playing time is that if you’re blowing out teams by 30+, is she not going to play?!?!?? 🧐🧐🧐🧐🧐
It’s hard to justify her being on the team for anything other than publicity. She’s one of the biggest draws in sports but she’s not one of the best WNBA players yet
She’s better than 42 year old DT. Stats are better and she gets guarded way way harder
Precedent is another key reason. 3 other rookies in the last 20 years have made the team.
On pace to be only the 5th player to average 15 5 and 5 but what does that mean
@@TBatt15 - That's going to be her last chance for the Olympics. Clark will have at least 3 more chances. It's not a flex to say a 22 year old's stats are better than a 40 year old's.
@@arealgoodguy exactly, it’s not a charity! Taking CC over DT would have been smarter. For business and building the players of the future and because CC is already better
