    Your the only reason that I've kept trying to learn to pinstripe. Everytime I get overwhelmed I watch one of your videos and get inspired to keep on going. Thank you sir.

    Practice is the answer. 97 degrees here gotta thin about every other stroke to keep it flowin

    I think one thing that can be overlooked atleast in my opinion is the paint consistency on glass vs on bare metal at least I think it's 2 different feelings in my opinion.

    first let me say thank you for the best tutorials on striping , your amazing . i used to dabble in striping many , many , many , many years ago , and recently decided to try it again . while watching this video you said something that sorta shocked me , you said you don't really use sword brushes that much , back when i was trying to learn that was the only brush they had ( i think ) . my question is , do you feel a scroller is a better brush then a sword for a biginner. thanks

    • @villapinstriping
      @villapinstriping  2 года назад

      I think swords are better in general. I wish I would have stayed with the sword. Scrollers are specialty brushes. I unfortunately kinda use them as a crutch. So.. short answer. No. I don't think they are better. Not in the long run

    As a newbie just starting out with one Mack 00 sword and one bottle of Alphanamel so far, I’m trying to commit one hour a day for practice. What should I be focusing on during my practice? A bunch of straight lines, lazy S’s, curves or doing actual designs instead? I know you’re probably going to say “all of the above” but should I be focusing on one of those more than the other for now? Right now my stuff is very much hot garbage. I’m taking a pic every day and after 4 days now, am hoping that it starts to improve in…. Maybe a month or so? Is that realistic?

      I'd focus on line consistency. Maybe do one day straight lines, one day curves and one day design... So you don't get bored.
      Just aim to get the most consistent line possible out of each stroke. Don't settle. And don't quit.

    Is acetone good to clean brushes? When I use mineral spirits the paint clumps up.

      I would easily wipe off some of the paint with a paper towel before doing the actual cleaning..
      Getting some of that paint off helps a lot

    Maybe it's your attention span that's to short to help people with doubts and insecurities. Need patience to help them through struggles. They can be taught, anyone can. Perhaps your teaching technique needs to change. It's will power and confidence to learn this not patience. Some people practice in shorter segments not for hours straight. Someone practicing 20 min a day is better than an hour a week.
