About this video: While visiting Southeastern Texas in mid-February this year, I took a drive to the city of Hearne which is about 30 minutes north of College Station, where I was staying for the week. Two separate journeys to the eastern track diamond (of the two that Union Pacific has in town, and the only one that is easy to access up close) granted shots of several trains and some unusual consists. Highlights include a manifest freight with six locomotives at the head end, a work train expressing straight through town, and local-based operations doing some unique switching moves around downtown. All videos were taken in downtown Hearne, Texas on February 20 and 22, 2024.
