I like how in the final boss of this version Sonic's friends do less talking, Well they don't do any talking at all here I don't mind the talking on the console version but they didn't need to have them talk every 5 seconds so the 3DS does have the better version of the final boss and it feels alittle more creative than the console version
@@iam4026 Yep! I like that as well And something about the console version you never have to switch to Classic Sonic you can beat the entire fight with just using Morden Sonic Fans were triggered that I wasn't switching but if I don't have too then why should I?
Me too! I’ve always preferred the 3DS version of Sonic Generations but I never got to play it much since my dad owned it and I only had a 2DS. Somehow I only recently realised that emulators got laptops exist
@@ryanjacques1347 Yes, the Shadow one felt cool because it was a Modern version of the Metal Sonic one but other than teleporting, if I remember correctly, since I didn't watch the video before commenting, they're pretty much the same. Luckily they changed boss system later in the game
Really like how they include the Boilizard into Sonic x Shadow Generations, this aged so well. Also, as bit of head cannon, in the Time Eater boss fight I like to think that blue glowing line in between the two portals on the top and bottom is the main timeline it’s self.
While I decided to sell off the ps3 original to upgrade to the Switch version, really glad I kept the 3DS version. Besides Green HIll Zone, the Final boss, Radical Highway and the Biolizard boss, just love that everything else had other different bosses and different levels.
I really wished that Shadow X Sonic generations was like this because they did try to make it into the real game but it did not work like it does not have the same hype as the 3DS does
@vreikezen8268 so apparently Sonic team tried to make the Sonic X Shadow generations final boss in Sonic side play the 3Ds ver of the boss but sadly it doesn't work like I would imagine it to
Honestly my only criticism with 3ds was the rival fights and the actual soundtrack *more specifically modern sonic's takes* I actually think these bosses while easy... are actually great from a sonic design standpoint because you don't immediately learn how to beat them instantly. You get a chance to learn the pattern before the speedrun method. The problem with the rival fights is that your essentially playing the same stages again but with a "faker" chasing you down. I would have preferred somewhere original if they were going to do this, like metal sonic could have been been in collision chaos or shadow could have been a race out of green forest before the timer ran out. For silver, he's an odd case cause both of his bouts are in the overworld, so a good cheat I'd do is swap silver for blaze and have like a duel just like vela nova
Okay real questions: - Who's remember Big Arm? (I don't personnally) - Why the SA2 stage is Radical Highway? (A stage that Sonic NEVER goes on) - Why the second boss is Biolizard, a boss that Sonic never fought? It's Shadow who fought him. - Why Silver's fights is in Tropical Resort? It would be logic if it was in Water Palace for the references of Blaze. - Why Classic use the homing attack?! He never learns this attack until SA1. And lastly... - Why the Time Eater boss fight is (veeeery slightly) better than the HD version?

I can't answer most of these, but for what I can contribute: A) Big Arm was the final boss of Sonic 3, without having Sonic and Knuckles unlocked. For a lot of people, he happens to be something of an intimidating difficulty bump when they first play through Sonic 3. I myself can attest to having trouble with his fight for quite an extensive amount of time until I figured out how to dodge his descending grab. B) I can't 100% speak for why Sonic fights the Biolizard, but I think we were expected to give it a pass because Sonic was *at least* there when it was first unleashed, and he wound up fighting the Biolizard in its Final Hazard form anyways, alongside Shadow.
So you're okay with sending Silver to Water Palace (A stage that Silver NEVER goes before) but not okay with Sonic going to Radical Highway? Aside from this nitpick, the reason is to not repeat themselves. In XBox version Sonic fights Shadow at ARC, similar to their fight at the end of Hero/Dark campaign. He fights Perfect Chaos in Dreamcast Era section instead of Biolizard. And also he fights Silver at Crisis City, a place of great significance to the latter. And while yes, fighting Silver at Tropical Resort is dumb, what boss that Sonic have fought against should he battle in Dreamcast Era? Egg Golem? Finalizard is a candidate, but fighting without Super Form is... Meh, ikd
I like to headcanon the 3DS version as level canon at the same time as the 360 version, Though it does play with hot water that can view it as not canon Here's my headcanon the console version is fully the canon one WHILE the canon parts of the 3DS version are the extra stages though I like to think of the biolizard fight as not canon because Sonic never fought him

Time Eater boss is 100x more fun in the 3DS version. I really hope they fix it in the remaster.
Heck I wouldn't mind if they make it exactly like this one, probably as an alternate though, just make the graphics fit with the rest of the game.
