No matter what, my child go independent as I watch; will only give up managing if the child is off age and I am sure s/he is responsible enough to manage own business.
I think I would show him or her all the aspects and bits and pieces of what they are getting into and trust that they make the right decisions for themselves. However there has to be many different ways of doing what they are talented at, and love, while also gaining what they deserve and being safe and productive towards society at the same time. So perhaps I would suggest that to them.
Not everyone in showbiz is crazy or weird . You got some people that still got a good head on there shoulders. Very few nonetheless but there still a handful out there. I'd support my kid no matter what they venture in to a certain extent however I'd advice tread lightly in showbiz for sure.

Let? Forcing decisions isn’t usually a good idea. Explain where the pitfalls are, then let them make choices. Age is definitely a factor though.
