I loved watching Roseanne growing up, as a poor, working class kid who didn't seem to have many options. That show really captured moments of desperation that we felt, just trying to buy groceries or trying to pay the bills. I respected the hell out of her. I respect the hell out of her now for pushing back against establishment malarkey. Roseanne, we love you, thanks for being a voice for us poor ketchup-finger plebs, just trying to pay the bills every month.

My late father was a very well known comedian and later in life, his career was in a slump and was in a tight spot. Roseanne loved dads work and put him on the show a few times, giving him good paying work and reigniting his career. She and John Goodman both. Whatever our political differences, I will forever be grateful to Roseanne for helping my dad. I met her a bunch and she is a good person who respects old Hollywood icons. Yes, she’s eccentric. That's what almost cost Brendan Fraser and Terry Crews their careers. Terry is still doing okay but Brendan's career was damn near destroyed. If you grew up as a 90s kid he was one of your top stars but as the years pass you noticed he virtually disappeared from major movies since the 3rd Mummy and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Imagine my shock of Googling 2010s photos of him overweight and very short hair. Him winning the Oscar reminded everyone how much we missed him.

It's too bad that Sara Gilbert turned her back on you, Roseanne. I liked "Mama's Family" and Roseanne. Roseanne was so relatable and blue collar and loved the whole cast.
I'm a fan of John Goodman, too. The show was so popular because the house wasn't a mansion, they seemed like ordinary people. I liked Roseanne better than Ray Romano's show. The personality of Roseanne came through naturally and it was binge worthy because it wasn't heavy. It had humor.

It was totally her cancellation and how deplorable it was for her TV family to drop her like trash without any concern. I remember saying to myself as i read Sara Gilbert's response to it all "wow you f****ng thankless **** way to literally throw her under the bus!"
When i would state this to others they all would look at me THE EXACT SAME WAY OUR IDIOTIC LEFT REPRESENTATIVES AND SHEEPLE do now to anyone who's level headed enough to ask "why" to anything regarding trans/gender ideology/allowing children to transition/ covid vaccine concerns. Basically any level headed question at all.

For example - How does an unknown comic/actress suddenly get her own show on primetime network slot and get the massive support to be pushed into top spot? No one gets that push without being backed by a major player. And best believe that she would've had to do many favors to get that. I don't buy this story of her fighting her way in.

Roseanne didn’t have to do sexual stuff because she was a comedian working the circuit. She wasn’t a hot starlet! All these attractive young women who we see on TV and movies did the “casting couch.” That’s just how it works.

Loved watching Roseanne as a kid but back then my country was doing quite bad economically. I could never understand why Roseanne would say that she was poor. They seemed so rich to me. I couldn't distinguish between her lifestyle and other rich American lifestyles. Everyone in America just seemed to be loaded beyond my comprehension. I'm also talking of the early seasons in the late 80s.

Honestly Americans are rich compared to the rest of the world and most of them are so ungrateful it isn’t funny.

Nirvana kind of blew up out of nowhere -- there was a prominent scene in the PNW but they became the darlings of it relative to everything else, they were signed to Geffen ... makes me wonder a bit. Kurt wrote about wishing for 'more' homosexual tendencies and who knows what happened in private that set things in motion for their commercial explosion, could have been organic and could have been 'deals' made. Unfortunately Kurt didn't take to being big time too well in the end (but he seems to have wanted it at one point hence the signing with DGC in the first place).
