The original WH40K: Rogue Trader rules virtually begged (if not demanded) customization and proxying for tabletop armies due to the lack of available figures from GW, plus the mere fact that being sci-fantasy, WH40K: RT meant that players were *expected* to use their imagination, and not be shy about making up their own Space Marine chapters, Ork gangs/tribes, Imperial Army/Guard regiments, and so on. Further, from the beginning the Rogue Trader was an Imperial faction that would consort with xenos in order to further the best interests of the Imperium of Mankind. So a Rogue Trader's retinue could be a rather interesting gang to roll with accordingly. Fun stuff! Love the Death Watch!
You guys are rocking it out of the warp!!!!! Constant uploads of high quality and long form lore will keep us all coming back. Only feedback is to put a foam or voice filter over the mic…..lore to sleep to!!!!!!
That Black Hoof idea was top tier. At first I was thinking, why wouldn't they just do with the Space Marines did & eat??? But the towel are evolved from herbivores not carnivores... i believe. Unique awesome idea
Two of the combos (Choas Salmanders and the Necron Space Marines) sound really close to something in the Dornian Heresy. It's a fan thoery that basically asks if every space marine chapter is on opposite sides. Choas was loyal and loyal was choas
These videos lately have been on point. (They're always good though). It is obvious that you guys have committed to next level presentations and that you love the subject matter.
one hybrid faction i think would be very cool and easily implemented, would be a severin dominate human/dark eldar hybrid. the humans of the severin dominate would form a pact with the dark eldar for technology and to keep control of the population. any one opposing the severin dominate would be force conscripted into cheep slave solder regiments or simply enslaved and shipped of to the dark eldar. the dark eldar possible supplying compliance technology like detonating slave collars. loyal humans would be outfitted with above standard imperial tech, forming strong shock troops and possibly outfitted with some eldar tech. officers and commanders would be loyal brianwashed humans, but their retinues and body guards would be masked dark eldar kabal warriors. to ensure full compliance and loyalty. maybe even something like commissars, just even more sadistic. the dark eldar would provide battle barges and other vehicles to the severins, somewhat slower but better armored. mainly used for slave raids outside of severin space. the severin rulers would get very capable mercenary forces that keep the rank and file in line, as well as much needed vehicle support. the dark eldar would get masses of slaves, without having to commit many of their own forces to the raids or battles. they would be able to control the humans, without them even knowing they are controlled, by choosing their leaders. on the battle field the kabal warriors would feed of the masses of slave soldiers being used in suicidal human wave attacks, while the loyal humans and the eldar themselves clean up after them. they would be supported by fast xeno tech battle galleons that enslave any one captured. the pseudo praetorian guards would disappear large portions of the captured, under the guise of interrogation or something like that, while the capable fighters would be forced into the slave regiments or even transformed into gladiators, by the dark eldar. a novelty for spectacle for them. maybe the severins would even create colosseums for the dark elves to amuse themselves by showing of to the humans and local kabal warriors, against malformed and twisted human stock gladiators. i think it would work well as a hybrid faction. with the whole roman theme, it would be similar to the preatorian guard. where the bodyguards take over an empire and play kingmakers. and i think it would make for a nice romanesque faction that makes sense in the world of 40k. while the human rules and higher ups of the severin dominate would probably think they were getting a good deal they would be nothing but puppets for the dark eldar. and while most dark eldar would probably look down on this as beneath them and maybe downright shameful, the profits for the kabal controlling the severin dominate would be huge and serve as a justification. why waste your own solders and resources when you can make the humans kill and enslave each other?
Didn't go over the obvious choice of Xeno tech magos and Necron technology. I'd figure we'd get even more of them in lore now that we have seen void dragon shards and the Imperiums new obsession with Blackstone.
I imagine slaves of chaos salamanders might still be treated well. They might protect loyal slaves or at least treat them better than other marines. I think it fits into khornes less discussed positive traits.
Halt! The Blue-Smurfs (Ultramarines) also care for the people (probably not at the same level as the Salamanders, but they are still above many chapters who resent regular humans!)
i think nurgle could be an easy flip for the salamanders by preying on their empathy. when given the option to take nurgle's gifts to releive the suffering of a civilian population they might just cave. plus the area of effect tactics, the durability factor, and the tenacity all fall into aspects of nurgle. replace fire with rot, or even some kind of specialised disease made to emulate flame, and youve already pretty much got a plague marine.
Question: isn’t the worst thing about being deaf not the fact that you can’t hear anything, but that you can never tell if that fart you just blasted was heard by anyone?
i am honestly not sure Human and Tau Tech is really compatible in any way. Human tech is just such a weird mix of pinnacle high-tech and basic, whereas Tau are sortoff middle-of-the-road. At least the Tau understand their stuff, whereas a Mechanicus Tech-Priest might be able to get a factory to make a part, and he sortoff knows what he can use it for, but doesn't really undstand what it was originally for, or how exactly it works.
A very popular theory is that the tau simply happened to come across a completely intact STC archive from the dark ages and that's where all their tech is from. Also the lore of the new starcraft gnomes seems to back this up because they use very similar tech to the tau and they still have all their AI colony ships up and running.
@@flatheadgg2443 I suppose it's possible, allthough to me it's more likely their fast advancement has something to do with the ethereals as well as the canon of having high-tech alien races as friends.
Salamanders you would think are not the best fit with the puppy kickers of Khorne they value family, respect the innocent surely Grandfather nurgle would be a better fit after all they know greenness is next to godliness
I don't understand this comment. OMS never once said that "Salamanders are African". Salamanders do have "coal black skin and fire red eyes" (according to the wiki) though, which is a result of the conditions on their homeworld. Don't know how your mind connected OMS mentioning individuals within an entire galaxy of different planets with different biospheres having black skin to them "being Africans" and then having to jump in and say that they aren't Africans. Are you perhaps racebaiting? Leave your real life bs in the real world and let a fictional setting be what it is.

Ork-Genestealer Hybrids were mentioned in 1st edition, I think in Freebooterz (the Ork army book), and I remember seeing custom minis in White Dwarf.

@23:54 Necron Graverobberz. Say less.
Loving the deep dives, as a tau player I was thinking human auxiliary army, keep it up
Ork-Genestealer CHAOS hybrid?! Had no idea that was a thing, so yeahhh, fuck those things...that does sound like some of the worst critters in 40K

I can't find this Sept Forge world
Tau aligned renegade space marines would be the most likely combo (aside from the ones that are already canonical) .
What?! Where can I read that?

My crazy combination is human + human which creates Human. Games workshop contact me please.

By the way, There are presently Salamanders traitors mentioned directly in Canon as a result of the Murdercurse during The Arks of Omen event.
How about a Sisters of Battle and AdMech hybrid that follows AdMech dogma.
That sounds cool

I surprised you didn't mention an Ork warband that would joined the Tau Empire. Your podcast is their battle cry. "For the greater Waaagh!!!"
space marine + necron tech
The dark eldar are the most likely to cross breed I mean they would find a way to cross breed out of some form of pleasure they'd get from it
Thank you for this

In space nobody hears you fart
Come to think of it, chaos aside, literally any one of these factions influences on the other can basically be seen as corruption in a similar way.

Shaimundas? Is that a real or fake sept world?
It’s a homebrew planet I made for my skitarii Tau faction. I have a full series on it. One day I’ll go back and finish those models

I'm tryna see a necrons who had the flayer virus be transferred into a living body of the tau or an ad mech or a friggin astardes.
this is very heretical.
I'll be honest OMS, you need to find some speaking personality
The Tau took over in Human Space because, the imperium was really fascist and most humans hated it more than they hated being run by aliens.
