- Tyrese aka Darrel from Evan's detailing and polishing shows how simple polishing a peterbilt grill can be with the right process. Keep in mind this is only the third time he has polished a grill and he is killing it. I've watched this young man grow a lot over the past few months and his buffer control is growing everyday. I truly hope these videos are helping you learn how to properly polish metal. Be careful and stay safe.
Of course everything we use in our shop is available for purchase in our shop and on our website. goshineon.com/shop

DETAILING AND POLISHING GUY
Hello!
How do you clean and polish a 1980 autocar constuctor has never been cleaned for 30yrs been in a coal mine is it looks like a old soda can he on a budget
Awesome job only could keep getting better
He was killing it. Too bad he quit. He was a great asset.
@@EvanStegerMetalPolishing good help is hard to find these days ....hope he had good reasons?!
@@geronimo55kj I wish it was a good reason but you are right. Good help is very hard to find. Especially in this industry.
Love the videos. I've been doing alot of metal polishing myself lately but the one question I have is that I see alot of you guys using 6000rpms instead of the 3500 variable speed. What flanges are you using because the zephyr one is only rated to 3500???
goshineon.com/shop we sell the all aluminum insertable safety flanges that are rated for higher speed. Thanks for watching.
@@EvanStegerMetalPolishing gotcha thank you sir
Can I call him Ty the new polish guy?
You sure can. I'm hoping to involve him and many other polishers into this series of videos.
Hey Evan,
I'm.wondering about this
I have an 2011 honda odyssey aluminum wheel I'm sanding faulty clearcoat down to 600 grit and polish with mothers polish and then clearcoat 5 coats to offer protection so raw aluminum is not in the air. I'd rather leave the polished surface but presume it will oxidize quicker with no protection. So I clearcoat and the shine then comes from the clearcoat vs all that nice polishing. What do you think am I doing the right thing?
Most clear coats won't stick over proper polis. You'll also need more than mother's polish over 600 grit. Mother's isn't very abrasive.
So for the grille can u just use the orange and brown and yellow and green or do u have to do it the way u guys did it
You can do it however you want. Our videos aren’t guidelines. They are videos of how we do it. Many do it differently. And that’s ok too.
Where can I buy the “loose white” wheel he used to buff out the hand polish?
goshineon.com
Love seeing young dudes excited to get dirty and earn that money $$$
I agree. Thanks for watching.
Where can I get a loose white buff?
www.goshineon.com
This is how to polish a grill with ty
Thanks bud.
Do you modify your triggers so they dont lock?
We only remove the safety start tab. The lock feature is still enable able but we just don't use the lock in our shop very often. We do have a video on how to remove the safety start tab though if you need it.
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen you use a rake on your cut buffs?
I never rake my cut buffs.
What brush or pad is that
goshineon.com 2 step aluminum kit
Was that a 3 or 6 thousand rpm grinder?
For cut we use a 6,000 rpm grinder and for finish polish we use a 3500 rpm buffer. Thanks for watching.
Is it brown green and last white?
We finish with green compound
Was any sanding done on the grill before hand?
Not on this particular video. We avoid sanding as much as possible.
@@EvanStegerMetalPolishing man I wish I knew what I’m doing wrong. I’ve tried sanding first and without sanding and I just don’t get good results. I put hours and hours into polishing my truck and the fuel tanks came out ok but the grille looks basically like I never touched it. Y’all make it look so easy on RUclips.
I see orange wheel , brown polish?
Yes most of what we do is orange with brown first.
Where did ty go
He is in the area living life. Thanks for watching.
I was gonna hit the like button, but its at 379 and thought 379 grill 379 likes, I'm not gonna be that guy. Great video though
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Shimmy shimmy shimmy, blah blah blah. No disrespect Ty, but you polished that grill twice already and it’s not very shiny until this time. Makes me question your mentor. Shimmy shimmy shimmy, blah blah blah. Say, what’s that red goo behind you? Shimmy shimmy shimmy, blah blah blah. 🎵🎶Don’t push to hard or you will leave scratches. Shimmy shimmy shimmy, blah blah blah.🎵🎶Chunky and blah blah blah
Lmmfao not sure what that stuff was.
