Man, thats an awesome swap! 👍Did you have to customize the motor mounts and what about the wiring was that difficult to do? Were all the manual transmission parts like linkage and shifter from your e30 or the e39?
Nice work man ! can you help with this please ? i have an E30 i'm planning to restore and there is a N62B44 V8 engine taken from an E65 available to purchase from one of my friends. i've been looking online for information on the possibility of this swap especially the gearbox which is an automatic (ZF GS6S53BZ) , i want a manual though and the only thing i could find online is some talks about using the E39 6 speed manual but those are very rare and expensive. do you have any idea how can i do this swap ? what kind of manual gearbox would work with this engine ? and if no manual gearbox is available , how can i use the engine and its original automatic gearbox in an E30 ? any informations regarding this is quite appreciated , thank you in advance.
I actually used the pump off the e34 m60 but made custom stainless power steering lines. You can probably get away with oem e30 lines and just "bend" them to fit.
I actually replaced all the seals and timing chain guides before the engine went in. The engine was actually a obdII non vanos so I actually converted it to obdi also
ANT5003 the swap itself took about two weeks cause I only worked on it after work and weekends, you can probably finish it within a week but only if you have all the parts ready to go. If not, it'll be a waiting game for parts
Mouthy Mechanic wow, that’s a very small amount of time. I do I have a majority of the parts all including the custom driveshaft, ECU ect. Ready to go. Was debating on just doing it on my own vs paying a shop.
you make this look so easy!
Nice work! I can't wait to see your next videos!
I felt the “out of battery” vibe
excellent video! Keep up the good work - it's appreciated. Btw: Jack your car up a little higher and make your life a little easier!
yes good job

The motor mounts can be easily bought online so you don't have to do the guess work in the angles of the motor
The shift linkage was actually from the e39 I just cut it to fit and then welded them
Put up some updates... is the same as the 740 engine?
Awesome video, please post an update!
Hy what about fuel economy
Nice work man !

How is the car still running after the swap? Any updates?
When you turned on the car it was growling sound? What have you done to fixed it? Thanks
Need more!!!!
Wouldn't it been easier to lower the car on top of the car?
What is the engine control unit?
Didnt cut the oil pan?

What steering pump did you use? I know the v8 pumps have higher pressures compare the straight six.

What did you do for wiring? Harness, ecu, ews???
404 ecu
Jw how much did the total swap cost in $ and time?
nice! How long did it take you to have the engine swaped?
The engine swap itself took about a week but it was only like that because I had all the parts ready
Did you change the timing chain guides on newer engine ?
I actually replaced all the seals and timing chain guides before the engine went in. The engine was actually a obdII non vanos so I actually converted it to obdi also
What ecu did you run?
Thanks for posting this 🙏🏾. Gives me confidence in my e30 m62TU build. Just curious. How long did it take for you to complete the job?!?!
