- For Halloween 2023, the family restaurant Chuck E. Cheese dropped a coincidentally-titled promotion called Five Nights of Fun. They have publicly denied any and all involvement with FNAF, but behind the scenes, we see some definite inspiration!
This isn't an attack on CEC, it's just a humorous take on some of their (perhaps tone-deaf) promotions that tend to cause uproar in the media and among their own fanbase.

It's so funny to me that they could have just nonchalantly done a horror themed event at the same time as the fnaf movie, but the fact that so many references are made while simultaneous telling employees to lie and say it has nothing to do with it or else they could be sued is hilarious.
This is what is so odd to me. I get not wanting employees to divulge trade secrets they may be privy to (upcoming promotions, insider info, etc). But to launch an event that has potential legal pitfalls and then instructing your employees to essentially lie about it is just…insane.

Scott Cawthon said in his own words on a Steam or Reddit post (I can't remember which) that he wouldn't make an actual Fazbear's restaurant because he doesn't want some crazy person to renact the erm.. actions that led to the animatronics possessed in game. Perhaps CEC didn't accept any partnerships for a similar reason.

As someone who got into animatronics because of fnaf, this whole situation is so surreal. I’m really hoping this creates a turning point for CEC corporate, but honestly who even knows anymore.
I really hope this movie convinces corprate to leave the rest of the shows alone moving forward... high doubt, but we can only hope.

Scott like CEC showbiz as a kid I heard and he was inspired by it and what they're doing to him is so wrong.
I'm glad that i'm being respectful to CEC, FNAF (and of course Showbiz/any other Rock-afire typed shows), like some of the fans (mostly FNAF) could go crazy on them despite how CEC is keeping the event kid-friendly and not associate with the games/film relating to FNAF and thank god i'm not like that, especially when i use social sites like Twitter.
Five Nights of Fun (or ''FNOF'') is really a wild event when it comes to that, and if some officials behind FNAF sees this and sued them, then i guess that they might end up forcing them to name it as ''Chuck E's Not-So-Scary Fun Nights'' instead but that sounds a little Disney-ish, but then again it could completely omit the (unwanted) FNAF reference like when they did try to not associate to the famous horror franchise.
Honestly, they could also make bank on adults, like me, who grew up loving CeC and animatronics in the 80s and are into FNAF a great deal because of their nostalgia. If CeC did a once-a-year thing with FNAF it would do them a lot of good. Its adults that bring the kids after all and with how sad CeC has looked lately I'm not planning on bringing my Great Nephew the way I brought my Nephews there for fun days when they were kids in the 90s. Also, IMO, if you want to parody FNAF movie stuff own up to it.
At this point, I'm eating popcorn and watching it unfold. 😬 yikes!

What I don't understand is the fact that they want to capitalize off of the FNAF when they don't have animatronics anymore. The animatronics are the main selling point of FNAF and now that CEC doesn't have them anymore, this feels weird.

Oh wow with Chuck E. Cheese not being affiliated with the movie. But difference is the target audience, as Chuck E. Cheese is geared for kids, while FNAF is for adults (because of jumpscares from animatronics).

In short for the ending point, and what I can say after finding stuff, is yes. They absolutely know there's an appetite for the older designs and lesser known characters connected to Pizza Time Theatre. But they also don't wanna touch FNAF with a ten foot pole. A video ages ago was released called "Five Nights At The Pizza Time Theatre" where Chuck was forced to visit an old location that still had The King, Dolly and Oink in it that had him interact with a night guard named Mike who "works here five days a week." Since then, they removed it entirely from their youtube channel. Meanwhile, 80's Tees has the license for the Pizza Time Theatre era character designs and have been using them, with special ones for The King, Munch and Chuck in particular. But I also think it's a balancing act by far. Appealing to a fanbase of retro animatronic looks, a current fanbase of kids, a fanbase of adults who grew up with the more recent previous design like Cool Chuck, while also trying to deny connection to a video game series that has two of those interests pegged down at the same time and all.
If they wanted to simply have “five nights of fun” why didn’t they have three nights of fun, or two nights of fun, or seven nights of fun?” They got themselves into this mess, so why should this be the employees problem? CEC clearly wanted to be relevant again. It doesn’t help that their “Big Night Of Fun” is on October 27th.
I bet good money they added Bella because of Fnaf. They already have a canine and a hen. They can't use a bear because of showbiz pizza so the rabbit was the only thing left.
What makes it even stranger is that before Bonnie, there never was a rabbit in a well-known animatronic band.
The fact they do such a massive fnaf poke when they block anyone that mentions fnaf on their social medias just feel scummy. And those employee papers really dont help the case
I think - and ironically - the fact that they *didn't* lean into it at least partially and forced employees to pretend it didn't exist makes them sound lamer *and* out of touch.
Like, I get that they're a family friendly operated pizza joint (that delivers!) but they could have went full comedy and said that either Freddy's a boogeyman-esque figure and they're still trying to track him down or have Freddy be, like, this classmate/old friend/distant relationship/protegè of Chuck's that went downhill after he opened his restaurant and lied about *Chuck* ripping him off/copying him.
The possibilities were endless about how to address it and they went for corporate extortion.

I get that they would want to clear up that the partnership isn’t formal, but they do seem to have a weird disdain for FNAF. I can only assume it’s because the story is specifically about horrible things happening to children, and they might not want their brand associated with the concept of endangering their customers. But even then their hatred for it feels so strangely intense. That’s not just me, right?

I believe it'll be kind of interesting and get some people into Chuck-E-Cheese if they get a co-op but of course , they want to do their stupid squeaky-clean reputation of modernizing everything. But I would love to genuinely see some Freddy fazbear's merch and some decor with Freddy fazbear and Chuck-E-Cheese

Scott coffin has openly said they will never be a real Life, Freddie fast bear in a travelling show all its own location or any other characters, so I very much doubt that Chuck E. Cheese could convince them for Freddie and friends to be a guest star where half the stores don’t even have animatronics and a trying to capitalise of him. Yeah, he’s not gonna be letting Chuck E. Cheese use his image or his characters.

firstly, no scott wasn't inspired by charles entertainment cheeses.
They were actually inspired by showbiz, cec's used to be competitor (they were bought by showbiz after bankruptcy in 1984, and by the early to mid 90s the showbiz name was no more.).
also someone who was an cec employee did confirm that uh, CEC employees will not be fired over name dropping a funny bear with a tophat. Lmfao.
hopefully that clears some stuff up to the best of my knowledge.

Actually Chuck E. is not the original at all, Freddy Fazbear is based on Billy Bob from showbiz pizza place who existed long before Chuck E. Cheese and was a bear. So no actually Freddy is based on something far more original.

I don’t mind if they collaborate with FNAF to do this event but the fact that they denied any connection with FNAF and create an even that inspired by FNAF, not only that but their poster look like a ripoff from FNAF movie not to mention one of their speech which is a copy of Phone Guy from FNAF 1. And the fact that they prohibit employee from mention anything related to FNAF and even blocks people on social media for mentioning FNAF is kinda sketchy if you ask me

2. They "accidentally" made it looks very similar to the FNaF poster
3. The prize event is on the 27th, literally the fnaf movie release date
4. Uses the wording "purple guy" on the poster that already resembles the fnaf poster
Even if the manual is fake (a few people have claimed to work at CEC and mentioned they have had meetings about it where they disclosed a slip up could get them sued, but I'm going on a limb and saying they are all making it up for the sake of this) that's still an uncanny resemblance for it to be a coincidence, especially when they actively block people for mentioning FNaF, meaning they are entirely aware of what it is and what the references would be.
cec doesn't want anything involved fnaf, yet they literally have fnaf references such as phone guy, purple guy, the name, and the same poster as the fnaf movie....how nice. 😑

@@NickyNoob-so9tw Of course, the term purple guy isn't instantly fnaf, but it's the fact that it's all of these oddly specific references together at the same time as the fnaf movie, and the fact that the prize event happens on the day the fnaf movie comes out.
It could have been the next barbenheimer. I don't think Chuck E Cheese's brand would have been ruined that bad if they just admitted they were promoting the fnaf movie because Barbie a family friendly brand promoted Oppenheimer a R rated movie and the Barbie brand seems to still be standing well.
