I'm fortunate enough to be friends with Marley, having gone to Uni together. To see Marley and Amy's work being given this spotlight makes me so proud of them both 🥹 can't wait to see how the series progresses 🖤
Hopefully this gives them some well-deserved recognition, their propmaking experience has been invaluable throughout. Glad you're enjoying the series so far!
Fun fact, my black and gold Paradigm hybrid does actually fit in a Ford Focus, and that's how we've taken it to all the events we've been to. The skirt is actually closer to an NSD/Classic skirt and comes in two halves, so that certainly helped
That's the thing, the actual Paradigm props are so much bigger than many fan builds I've seen, I'm not sure how they would compare. An inspired design choice though!
Really great timing!! I only watched your first video on this around a week ago, and was looking forward to the next episode! Congratulations on owning the prop, I've always liked the Paradigm Daleks.
That’s awesome! It’s looking great! It’s very comical and awesome seeing people drive around in one headless after being used to how they look on the show for so long! I hope it goes well getting the rest of it!
@SomeBoiOnline they really have! I really hope you can get the original neck and head, but if it's not possible to get hold of them the liveshow props were built by Millennium FX. It's possible they might still have their molds. It's been 13 years but it couldn't hurt to drop them an email
Yes It would be ideal, but seems unlikely at this point. We do have access to that live prop thankfully, but it would be an idea to ask MFX about the moulds. It's something I thought of before but never got round to!
0:45 THERE I AM GARY THERE I AM! In all seriousness though, lovely to see this series arrive. And so soon too! The fates must've collided for you to gather together a team so quickly! Can't wait to see what's instore next time!
Yes well spotted! 😂 Really glad you're enjoying the series, people started to get in touch pretty swiftly after the first video, so we've been very fortunate!
This is a genuinely sick series SomeBoiOnline I can't wait to see the next episodes I remember watching the matt smith episodes when I was younger and they hold a special place in my heart
Great to hear you're restoring the prop, always a cool process. Admittedly I've always found the new paradigm daleks such an anomaly because they were entirely new and admittedly mostly cool designs, which were just ditched. Not keen on the eye or the original 5 different colours, but the basis was solid. Also love the title, feels very 80's classic who
I've always loved them personally, but they are undeniably an anomaly in terms of their use in the show and the props themselves! Glad you liked the title 😁
Excellent to see you giving this prop the love and attention it deserves! I'd love one day to own one of the paradigm props, particularly the Eteneral... you're living a dream come true, well done and good luck with future episodes!
I had no idea you had an original Paradigm Dalek, that's so cool! I'm a smidge jealous if I'm honest. They've done an amazing job with the restoration so far. I look forward to seeing it completed!
I don't know if this was on purpose, but whenever I read the phrase 'It Begins!' it's always in the voice of the Dalek that says this in Victory Of The Daleks. (Mainly because I watched the Series 5 Trailer an immeasurable amount of times when it came out and it says this when the Dalek Ironside comes on screen lol.)
It absolutely was, I distinctly remember that trailer from back in 2010! So glad people have picked up on this, "Restoration of the Daleks" is also spoken in Victory, so it's all incorporated into the title!
it is a shame that its actual missing pieces are know to exist but are either buried in storage or in some gits private collection (collection or not, a dalek should be whole)
Impressive thus far! You could probably make collectables out of the unused/broken hemispheres and Ebay them. Bit of extra funding for the continued restoration?
We did talk about this briefly when we'd finished this stage and Jordan came to pick up the prop, but myself and Amelia would recommend all the remaining original parts be kept together. The displays of prop segments are actually becoming a bit of a problem from a conservation standpoint, as I'm aware of a few people that deliberately cut things up or unnecessarily separate parts for maximum profit.
Thank you! It's a nice idea, but as Marley says, there's a bit of a problem with people purposefully vandalising props for profit. So I wouldn't want to encourage that, but some funds will be necessary nonetheless! 😅
The thing is, this chip, along with other damage to the prop, occurred after its use in Asylum of the Daleks. Since we're aiming for that original look, it would've been odd to leave it.
Those Dalek s were crappy looking... made me think they were designed by the same crank who designed the Pontiac Aztec , or as was nick-named Asscrack.
Cheapskate BBC, the Dalek is still foot powered? I'd have thought they'd at least shelled out for them to run on an electric wheelchair or something. I thought that was why they made them bigger ..... on the inside.
Restoration of the Daleks sounds like an actual episode ...
I was gonna say!
That's exactly what I thought, they do say it in Victory too when the Paradigm emerge!
It’s a Big Finish audio story set in the Time War, and part of one of the best sets they have ever done. Totally worth a listen!
Wasn't aware of this but great to hear about!
The three of you could cosplay as the cast of The IT Crowd.
🤣
Hehe, I'm so glad you went with this title!
Love it when a community of people rally together and help out like this too!
Glad you liked the title, it's great to be supported by so many like-minded people!

Ah that's great to hear, thanks very much. I'm glad there's a growing appreciation for the Paradigm now!
Fab video! Can’t wait to see the next episode. Good job to Marley and Amelia 👍
Glad you enjoyed! 😉
Ooo this is gonna be an awesome series
I certainly hope so!
That’s awesome! It’s looking great! It’s very comical and awesome seeing people drive around in one headless after being used to how they look on the show for so long! I hope it goes well getting the rest of it!
Thanks! It's fascinating how much the sounds effects and voices enhance the fear factor in the show. Of course a head would help too! 😅
Absolutely smashing! And absolutely beautiful work by the restoration team!
Thanks very much, they've done a great job!

Thanks so much, mine too! Matt Smith alongside these Daleks is a core childhood memory.
Love this! It was well worth those trips to Cardif to see the smile on your face ❤
Now the Daleks are coming to me instead 😂
Bro always puts a smile on my face ❤
Thank you monkeh 😊
[0:09] same for me as well.
I love the paradigm daleks.
Aw love to hear that!
Even though I've never watched Doctor Who, I can imagine the restoration being actually part of the show.
In the show, we see these freshly made Daleks emerging from a device that creates them, so you're not far off!
Finally it’s getting restored and I was a massive fan of the paradigm daleks and they might now return to the public!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great to hear that, he may very well return to the public eye once more!

Just Subscribed, i look forward to following this beautiful piece of british television history restored to its full Extrminating glory.
Thanks so much, really appreciate it!
“Restore! RESTOREEEE!!!!”
Forgot about that line, that was the stone Dalsk in The Big Bang! The Paradigm are all about restoration 😅
Excellent to see you giving this prop the love and attention it deserves! I'd love one day to own one of the paradigm props, particularly the Eteneral... you're living a dream come true, well done and good luck with future episodes!
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed! Hopefully the Eternal prop resurfaces at some point in the future.

Thanks! There was a video showing him off about a year ago, I just hope he can be seen and enjoyed by everyone once he's done!
Ever since the episode and they weren’t really reintroduced, Dr Who has been going down hill!
Agreed, the writers haven't really been able to create a consistent storyline with the Daleks since Victory, which is mental!
I don't know if this was on purpose, but whenever I read the phrase 'It Begins!' it's always in the voice of the Dalek that says this in Victory Of The Daleks. it. begiiiiins!

Marley is a great guy....
He sure knows his stuff!
Looks great 👍🏻
Thanks!
it is a shame that its actual missing pieces are know to exist but are either buried in storage or in some gits private collection (collection or not, a dalek should be whole)
As Marley mentioned to me, it is also possible, as unfortunate as this is, that they were simply thrown away. We may never know!
its dalek time
Indeed!

@@Marley854 I hadn't considered that angle; too naive of me I suppose! What a shame that happens.
No worries, neither had I!
I'd love to help out somehow there is a full 3d printable neck could look at printing the whole thing for you
Thanks for the support! I've been advised against 3D printing for the time being, but we'll see how it goes!
Does anyone else feel old? Like, really old?
I mean the fact that the "New" Dalek Paradigm are nearly 15 years old doesn't help!
I understand why you would get rid of the chip. I find it a little disappointing
The thing is, this chip, along with other damage to the prop, occurred after its use in Asylum of the Daleks. Since we're aiming for that original look, it would've been odd to leave it.

Yep! Quite impressive that they look so electronic in the show, despite being so clearly handcrafted up close.
