I would LOVEEEEE to go snakehead fishing with you!!! Please? I've been DYING to go! I have kayaks...if you'd want to go that route too. pm me and let me know!
They go on a feeding frenzy like this for just a few days before spawning. You can wait until they finish spawning and start guarding their babies. That's also a crazy time to catch them.
I gotcha, but there's this tree by the bridge that's fallen down and blocking my way to fishing underneath. I used to walk down there all the time to fish, but that tree's been down for a few months now, and nobody from the park has bothered to clean it up. So, I'm stuck fishing from the bridge, and whenever someone walks by, I pause to avoid bothering pedestrians or cars.
@@peterfishing I'm just messin with ya. It struck me as funny that you were fishing right on top of the sign like that. It's only really meaningful later in the day when there are a lot of joggers around and they start overflowing into the street. I grew up fishing off that bridge back in the '60s and early '70s. The water out there where you're casting in this video used to be 3-4 feet deep, and we'd actually take the john boats under the bridge and fish the other side.
Before spawning, they'll be around for about a week, then they'll stop feeding. Once they're done spawning and get excited again, but not all snakeheads do this, you can still catch snakehead, just not as aggressively.
Hahaha! There are so many snakehead at Burke Lake, you can't stop catching them, especially at this spot, it's packed with snakehead. I don't eat them; my friends take them home, or I give them away to anyone passing by who wants them.🤝🎣🎣
I'm on both sides in this one. I know snakeheads are an invasive species, but when I see Peter catching an equal number (many) of bass/snakehead over the months and he only releases bass. I start to wonder what are the true numbers of bass/snakehead at burke?
That's great brother 👍 I fished there with frogs and all sorts of other jigs I had no luck. I gave up and went to the pier trying for crappies. Keep catching more of it. You're a snakehead slayer!
Haha! My bad, but I sure hope the folks managing the park get around to cleaning up that fallen tree soon. Then I can get back to fishing under the bridge.
Becareful those bushes are poison ivy bushes right of the bridge. I got rashes because i brushed onto it. I tried everything but no luck I've seen it swimming in front of me. Threw a frog and other lures no luck.
Love how you never hide your spots, techniques, time of day, etc. True member of the fishing community!
Thanks! Hope more anglers can catch some snakehead!!!🤝🎣🎣

where on the lake is that?
northwest corner of the lake
Nice will they still be biting good in a few days ?
Today's unexpected cold snap might make fishing a bit challenging, but once the temperature settles, we should see a lot more action

Are they gonna stay there for the whole time or just pre spawn season?

After this video, there are going to be none left there 😂 Nice video though, you probably kept the family fed for several days

C’mon Peter. No fishing from the bridge.
Nuh uh

Holy dude, that’s actually crazy lmao. Do you think they’ll bite on like a sleepergill or basically a top water frog just not like yours?
Most topwater baits work great, and in open water, chatterbaits are also effective.
