Yes, I agree. Whenever I am in Norway it feels similar to Scotland, only the mountains are bigger and more dramatic and the native forests and other habitats are in better condition. The geology is similar too - the mountains were part of the same chain when the two were part of the Laurentian continent many millions of years ago.
Truly breathtaking Jim, hard to put into words. Your film makes it feel like we are just walking behind you sharing in the experience but in reality setting up those shots must require so much planning. Thank you.
Thanks. It makes the walk take twice as long as it normally would, setting up shots, setting up the shot again because you realise your head was out of frame! But I enjoy capturing the beauty of it all so it’s time well spent I think.
On my way to north of Troms a few years ago I passed Senja Island, but unfortunately never had time to visit. Beautiful filming as usual Jim, thanks for rubbing it in 😅😉👍
I'd been meaning to go there for years. It's often overlooked because everyone heads for Lofoten (which is a pretty spectacular place to be fair) but Senja has some sensational mountains too.
Superb. Thank you Jim. Excellently done.
Another beautiful film, Jim. Thanks for sharing it and introducing me to this stunning landscape.
It’s a great area. Really beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful place and so lovely hike bud, simply masterfully executed content.
Thanks so much. Really nice of you to say.
Amazing film! I love the atmosphere... again! 🤌
Thanks again. Appreciate the encouragement. More to come from Norway...
Walked up and down the North Cape from Holland passing the entire Norwegian coast. Good memories. Many islands and many ferries...
Wow. That’s a long trip. I’ve often thought of doing that on a bike but have never had the time!
@@Jim_Manthorpe-hiking yes took me over ten months with cold and harsh weather conditions.
Well don't wait to long to make your dreams come true!!!
@@Jim_Manthorpe-hiking me too, cycling it would be a great way of utilising time and distance.
@@kayakcobber524that's an epic journey! Well done 👏👍
@@tonypaddler yes one of the many adventures over the years. Stunning coastline for sure!!!
Thank you for showing my country in a very beautiful way. I have always found Scotland and Norway to be remarkable similar.

OMG, amazing scenery and beautifully filmed. A visit to Norway is on my bucket list. Thanks so much for sharing Jim. ❤
Thanks. You could spend more than one lifetime exploring Norway. Just a beautiful country from north to south.
The landscape at the last day looks incredible 😍 What a beautiful scenery.. must have been a great experience. Great video
Yes, That's Segla. A very popular hike. It didn't disappoint!

@@Jim_Manthorpe-hiking ah yes, the Lofoten archipelago, somewhere else I'd like to cycle across.
Life seems so very short when I'm thinking like this!
@@tonypaddler Lofoten and Senja are both spectacular. could spend a lifetime exploring Norway.
@@Jim_Manthorpe-hiking so much world to explore but not enough lifetime!
@@tonypaddler Absolutely!
