You need to put all books aside & read Reckless (& also book 2, which is her best friend’s story during book 1). It was PHENOMENAL. Every minute was amazing. Can’t recommend it enough!!!!!!

I feel sooo similarly to you on The Ministry of Time, and I was so shocked to read so many conflicting reviews! I enjoyed the language so much, and even learned new words, haha! The unique way of telling history, but also an observation of our current time - through the eyes of the past, was just marvelous. I enjoyed the characters, and loved the relationship/romance between the two main characters. I too could relate to her (and your) perspective - my dad was born in Indonesia, and my mom New York! It’s a perspective I don’t get to read about very often and I found it so relatable.

The Rachel Gillig duology starting with One Dark Window is the closest vibe match to the Cruel Prince trilogy I’ve found in a long time!! Highly recommend - super easy reads, each one has only one brief spice scene.
I love how you read more than just strictly romance. I feel like there’s some booktubers who mainly read the cheesy romances which is fine but as a 25 year old I need more than just those cheesy romances now haha. I love watching your reading tastes grow!!

the husbands has a very similar premise to the midnight library by matt haig, which is really good and I feel like it does it better, bc there is a lesson and it tackles grief, regret and is really sweet tbh

haley, you NEED to read renegades by marissa meyer. it is a YA fantasy/sci fi with the CUTEST sub plot romance everr! it is just a must. stakes are high, double life, secrets, and the series is just too perfect. you will read the trilogy all in one day (or at least want to). if this is already in your tbr, READ IT NOW!

A Fate Inked in Blood was a really good book! I really enjoyed it!
I have a recommendation for something that has some of the elements you loved and related to in the Ministry of Time.
The Glass Gate by Hanna Sandvig is a modern retelling of Cinderella that has Fae (but is super clean, no spice!) and it’s Cinderella is half Japanese half Canadian! It’s a cozy romance with high stakes and is a part of a really cool series that retells fairytales, but with Fae and in the modern world!
I totally agree about Husbands! It was fine but I wanted something more.

Hailey if you're looking for book recommendations I have two:1) "Black beauty" by Anna Sewell, it's about a black horse and the aithor meant it for adults to read and the second "A thousand heartbeats" by Kiera Cass who wrote The Selection series, and it's about a war, romance, enemies to lovers. I promise you love these after reading them😊😘

I saw “I Hope This Finds You Well” as one of the recommended books for “The Ministry of Time.” I just finished I Hope This Finds You Well and it was a 5 star read for me. So good!!! It gave Mhairi Mcfarlane vibes.

Just finished the first book of my first fantasy series. I’ve loved Greek mythology since I was a kid and A touch of darkness series is exactly what I needed to start reading fantasy. Highly recommend it 😊
3:04 A Fate Inked in Blood is such a good book...you should totally give it a try....I just read it last month and it was a strong 4.8 stars (it is a bit spicy but you can surely skip that part otherwise totally recommended ❤)
