The Indominus rex is great and all, but it’ll be fun to turn it into something new.

One thing I really liked about the original design is the extremely long arms and how it used them so much, really gave it a very unique vibe compared to actual giant theropods
Same here, with the exception of Spinosaurus of course.

Man, I know my Jurassic lore but aside from the Carnotaurus and Rugops I had no idea the Indominus was so filled with Abelisaurids... I guess Wu wanted to be *really* sure those enlarged scales / osteoderms were prominent. Or perhaps they were a counter to the Therizenosaurus DNA to reign in those arms 🤔
It was kind of ridiculous, it might explain the indominus’ insane arm strength with how prominent the muscle attachments were for abelisaurus even with their puny arms
@@ichthyovenator3351Have you noticed in some scenes the indominus seemed to be bipedal? Maybe that’s a reference to the spinosaurus perhaps?
Wu chose those abelisaurids to make the strongest armor composition for the indominus since many abelisaurids had natural osteoderms to some degree and they would work better then ankylosaur dna as it would make the animal to clunky and top heavy
These designs look really slick and unique, but I prefer them as separate hybrids than the Indom imo (The og Indom design is fine imo)
Also I think they should have a more giganotosaurine head shape just to reflect the og design imo

This design looks so much better i really like the idea of indominus using her cuttlefish ability to hypnotize the raptor squad she would probably used that for tyrannosaurus for the final battle imagine the indominus uses this and the t. Rex gets distracted by it giving the indominus a opportunity to attack her
(I know that the Jurassic park t. Rex haves a nickname but i will not say it because it makes me cringe everytime i say it)

I feel like my biggest problem with the I-Rex was that it still looked like it could believably be a real dinosaur species. It's a hybrid born in a lab, make it look the part! Like some ungodly abomination of science!

I really like the design, but at the same time I'm not the biggest fan. Like, there are many things I enjoy about it, like the colors from the cuttlefish, the eyes, and the idea of the hypnosis. But, what I don't like about it is the fact that it looks too much like a therapod that would actually exist. I feel like the point of the I-rex was that it's supposed to look off, like something that is barely a dinosaur, but it looks like a monster just made for people's entertainment. With your version, the lines said by Owen and Grey that the Indominus is no dinosaur wouldn't make much sense because while yes it may act more like a monster, it doesn't look like one. If a regular person saw this redesign, they could see it being a real dinosaur instead of a theme park monster which is what the I-rex is supposed to be. What I would've personally done is give it more snake like elements, maybe add some amphibious traits, still keep the raptor DNA and some of the other Dinosaurs like the T-rex, giga, Therizenosaurus, and the other abilasaurids, and make it look like it's just barely a dinosaur. Other than that, you did a great job with your design, and hey, all of this I'm saying is my personal opinion, and It's 100% ok of you or anyone else don't agree, to each their own like they say.

I love it. Especially since you removed the stupid thumbs. My only critique is that it looks a little too much like a normal dinosaur instead of a monster. I recommend using "awesomebro" dinosaur designs as references, since that's basically what the I.rex is. Todd Marshall's artwork is what I normally use when drawing hybrids.
I find I have a tendency to not be good at avoiding more naturalistic dinosaurs

What i did not like about the indomitius rex was it had to have all these dinosaurs like trex, gigantotosaurusand raptors and half of abelisauridae(only the ones with cool names) in it. If they told me they got a regular allosaurus gave it a butload of growth hormone and janked around with genetics a bit it would have been much more beliable.

0:35 literally same! I love the indominus rex design even if she's just an altered King Kong V-rex in terms of Design! Both her and the V-rexes from are great in terms of Designs, I just hate how every Hollywood dinosaur movie is trying to rip off both of em like you said.
I totally neglected to mention the v. rexes. The teeth randomly jutting out just finds it’s way to everything.

1. Deinocheirus Genome for its long arms
2. Guanlong Genome for Crest
3. Allosaurus DNA for head with only upper jaw
4. T-Rex genome for lower jaw
5. Basilisk Lizard Genome, Icthyovenator Genome, Irritator Genome, Deinocheirus Genome, or Siamosaurus Genome (I don't know which sailed dinos would be best to use) for the sail
6. Body shaped based off of either T-Rex, Allosaurus, or Deinocheirus Genome (again don't know which dinos is best for its body shape)

I have no idea actually. I think besides maybe mules most hybrids irl are from the same genus ( ligers, grolar bears etc) but there’s so many dinosaurs in the indominus that who knows
@@ichthyovenator3351 it would probably look like some amalgamation of a creature, maybe a ton on genetic impurities and extra limbs. it would just die from being so much pain I imagine

Honestly. It looks like a "Real" dinosaur. It isn't as eerie because you can see it from a mile away, and it strays pretty far from the Indominus Rex. Plus it doesn't have the Deinosuchus teeth anymore! Such a waste... 😔
