I have always wondered, because we know so little about their behavior, what if most carnivore dinosaurs like T-rex were ambush predators. Specifically where they'd lay down between the foliage and once a herbivore walked past they would use their big strong legs to stretch up and pounce. Because, think about it, in that time ferns were the grass of the time, which means the ground was covered with thick foliage that could hide a predator. And I've always wondered about their paw-size difference; giant legs but tiny arms. Just running up to other dinosaurs and trying to bite them seems like a dumb hunting pattern, no other animals do it like that. Most animals hunt strategically. And just running on it's hind legs... with such a big body, it seems very energy-consuming for a predator and also tough to balance. Therefore I think an ambush through pouncing sounds like very efficient behavior. Any thoughts? I'm curious to discuss this
Lots of animals do that actually. The most prominent examples are canids. Wolfs, painted dogs and others don’t use their forelimbs for grappling like cats but for traction while the mouths do all the work. Crocs also do that. But ambush was definitely the most efficient method of prey capture for most theropods barring maybe Carnotaurus or a juvenile tyrannosaurid
Even though Plateosaurus didn't live in Arizona, wasn't Pangea still all connected during that time? I mean even though there hasn't been any fossil evidence found couldn't they have migrated to certain parts of the supercontinent?
That's a good question and I was gonna address this in the video but cut it for time. But basically just because a continent is connected doesn't necessarily mean there'll be consistent movement of different animals. Climate, physical boundaries like mountains or habitat differences block different animals even though they can feasibly walk to a given area. An example would be that there aren't jaquars in Canada or elephants in Germany.
Awesome work! I really gotta start trying to draw dinosaurs someday… As a side note, I will eventually be reviewing the Walking with… series. Just don’t know whether to start with WWD or WWM.

I just wanted to say, the tusk wound on the Postasuchus was from a hunt OFF screen. At least that's my interpretation
Amazing video and gorgeous art, I am so glad you were in my suggested vids! Definitely subscribed!^^
Thanks!
I love the trend of paleoartists depicting the new versions of prehistoric animals fighting with the old ones
Didn’t even realize it was a trend lmao
I love your Narration and Paintings, Subbed
Love all the redesigns!! Especially the Postosuchus :)
Awesome work! I really gotta start trying to draw dinosaurs someday…
As a side note, I will eventually be reviewing the Walking with… series. Just don’t know whether to start with WWD or WWM.
Thanks Jackson! I feel like WWM would be best to start off with because of your series of paleozoic invert vids. I can already here you tearing into that "Megarachne".
This video was amazing!! Can't wait for the next episodes😍
