    If nothing else-this documentary did two things few others do
    1.It showed dinosaurs having goofy moments, even if a bit cartoony at times, but it did help present dinosaurs more as animals than as mere monsters.
    2.It had very, very colorful dinosaurs, which is also often underrepresented, despite most creatures in nature having deep, saturated and sometimes even bright colors. This too is truer for archosaurs and lepidosaurs than for mammals, thus further implying dinosaurs are colorful.

    • @maldambao6126
      @maldambao6126 Год назад +10

      Exactly, and modern wild animals can be quite goofy even without human intervention. They can get spooked by their own shadows, put their nose where it doesn't belong and get bit or stung by something that is ultimately harmless, and they get stoned and drunk more often than we think, some even do it on purpose. Nature is quite harsh but not behaving like a perfect machine isn't an automatic death sentence.

    • @gladiolus5377
      @gladiolus5377 Год назад +7

      The reason why Dinosaur Revolution is so goofy and cartoony is because originally it was going to be a series of stories with dinosaurs in the vein of Ricardo Delgado's Age of Reptiles comic, with less focus on science and more emphasis in creating fun stories with dinosaurs as the protagonists. However Discovery decided later to make it more scientifically oriented like Walking with Dinosaurs and by that point most of the stories were already done, so they had to mix the more cartoony elements with the scientific ones, hence why the series can be so jarring at times.
      Still a great documentary and really ahead of its time.

    I really love the dinosaur revolution colors. That’s my favorite part about the show, especially with its iconic Tyrannosaurus rex, especially Jack and stumpy even though we didn’t see other tyrannosaurs that looked different however, we all do know the tyrannosaurus have well skull like faced well for the males. All the females have a visible skull like pattering but still it’s an easy way to tell a part for the males and I got to see a Skull like face is one of the best ways to go with a T Rex not to make it look scary in stages to make it look cool or interesting and unique. For some reason I’m having a bit of a tie between who is my favorite type of tyrannosaur model I can’t be if I want to choose dinosaur revolution or primal carnage

    Dinosaur Revolution was the first dino media i saw where the dinosaurs have proper AND interesting feathering, everything i saw before that either had exclusively scaly dinosaurs or they looked ugly as hell.
    And as we all know at this point, it wasn't supposed to be an ACTUAL documentary, which is why those comic moments felt so out of place and why the designs varied so much between individuals of the same species, it would be like if we removed all the dialogue in Disney's Dinosaur and edited it to sound like a documentary. And honestly, despite that, it still had quite a lot of moments with the characters behaving like proper and flawed animals, rather than being portrayed as perfect machines that get put out of commission if they make the smallest mistake.
