A great intro Vanessa, the tension of the build up and beyond the point of turning back, not that you would with the best hand picked back up team. It's these behind the scenes videos that show that we are all human, (apart from if you're a dog, a cat or a marsupial etc that doesn't have a grasp of 21st century aural language understood by the dominant bipedal species..... oh hang on I've had to work with some exceptions to this in the past). Anyway it's a tense time for the whole TGOAB team. Many thanks for sharing. I'm looking forward to the next one.
LOL you’re funny thank you so much for the sport. I really appreciate it and it definitely means a lot that me being so open about the realities is appreciated.
Great that you give us this behind the scenes. You were really getting nervous ;-) and why shouldn't you? Good idea to have your crew do their own behind the scenes. Looking forward to more episodes, Günter/Nürnberg
In the early eighties I had the plan myself to go for Dakar. Back then it was probably a lot easier to participate, but I could never have managed to go to all these preparations. It literally takes years to get ready for a race like that and being an unknown small-village person without connection or support in the rally world nearly impossible. But really interesting to see what's needed to get to the startline of that epic race👊😎
Oh thank you. Yeah it’s so true. They often say that getting into the Starlin is as hard as getting to the finish line. And it really does take a huge amount of planning preparation and funding
Amazing intro to the main event! looking forward following you to the finish, well done Vanessa - I wish I had followed this live, but heck, this is more exciting 👍👍😁😁🌹🌹
Ironic how I believe there is a joining of hands across the web of your faithful supporters, willing you to do well, and you have your doubts. We do not have doubts and know you will do it.
And having been along for the ride online when it happened, it gets me buzzing again! 🤗 And what, nobody asked Anika? She was just carted off to the airport in a wheelbarrow, right? 🥳 💪🤗
Brilliant Vanessa so awesome where you started from and where you are now, man or woman, bloody good going dam inspiring and a little bit of jealousy from me. Keep spanking life 😂👍🏼
This was nine days ago, I love when you are doing these rally's they are so great seeing all the behind the scenes stuff and watching you overcome. I took note of one things in this video I would like to point out at one point you said, "I am over all this I just want to get to the starting line." I think is the quote that shows that you are not thinking that you should not be there, that you want to bail and go home. What this shows is you are having nervous excitement and want to get on with it and that say you got this, now go have fun and conquer the mountain I spoke about in my last post.
You're fully prepped as is the team and bike, can't do anymore. Wish you all the best, just don't take any chances stay in it for the long game. I'm sure you will make the it to the end. 👌👍👍
Hmmm shopping cart heist or was it a distraction? Rides after dark are not fun, especially if the path isn't sure. Oh, the crew filming will be fun .... cannot wait to see those also.
Good choice of the brown trousers, if you crap yourself, no one will notice! 😂 I'd hate to think of getting food poisoning out there.... That would be a nightmare, funny for us to watch, but seriously a nightmare... ❤
OMG, your comment has made me giggle. Honestly on a previous race. I did get an upset tummy and I had to pull over on the side of the road on the liaison and do a poo. Thankfully it came out very quickly… Not glamorous. lol You'll enjoy part 4 🫣
@@TheGirlOnABike you have reminded me of marathon runners. I watched the London Marathon many years ago now, and I remember Paula Radcliffe slowing down and I'm like, c'mon girl you can do it.... Wait... what's she doing? What? Eeewwwww! Right there on LIVE TV. I'm like, do we really need to see Paula Radcliffe go to the loo? I mean it's kinda hilarious and it's probably, actually the best thing so far watching the marathon, but a bit of dignity wouldn't go a miss! 🤣🤣🤣
Body position is a major factor, if you can get that on point then the pressure and strain on your hands, wrists and joints is very minimal! This is something iI learnt the hard way - I was often shredding my hands and would have achy joints, but since learning about the correct postioning I have not had any issues since! Hope that helps
@@TheGirlOnABikeWell, seems I didn't do it right for many decades, now the joints of my thumbs are worn and depending on the bike I'm using there are days I can' do more than 300-400km. It hurts a lot, only on my Harley Sportster or one of my enduro bikes I'm able do go further distances.
Looking forward for the next episode
Aw yey. That means so much to me

Haha oh who would know with that crazy lot, I stay well out of it 😇
You will feel better with Boost and Aspircreme both you can get at Walgreens .
👍
At about 12:00 on, you were recording in mirror mode. distracting.
Sorry about that

Do you ever have problems with your hands/joints when riding so much off road? What about sitting?
