They did her so wrong on that show. JLo was not kind to her. She was clearly the better singer from the final 3 and they pushed Scotty and Lauren. It was for the best obviously cause then she gave us gems like this one plus got to keep her creative control.

I first heard this at my brother-in-law's wedding reception. There was a whole playlist of PMJ that played softly in the background while everyone ate, before the DJ kicked the dancing off. It gave the whole affair the feel of an upscale cocktail party, and I recognized the lyrics to All About That Bass and was like 'WTF?!" So this was the second song, and I made my husband go up and ask the DJ what this was. After that, we were fans! Love this! PMJ does various artists doing various songs in the style of the 20's, 30's and 40's They are AMAZING!

Like most everyone else, when the song finished I was so stunned, mesmerized, jaw dropped, breath stopped and tears. Yes. And all I could say, all I could think was "Perfect". She reached inside me and I felt every note. I've listened to some beautiful music in my many years. I've never been so captivated, so struck with awe. That performance is truly a gift. Haley Reinhart is the best thing to ever come from American Idol. It was nearly 10 years ago, and how she is not a grammy winning artist by now, I just don't understand. When it comes to this style, there is nobody better. Postmodern Jukebox is definitely worth checking out. They have lots of great covers... so many unique takes on modern songs. The artists change all the time, so there's a lot of variety.
She is not a signed music artist. Hence, her music isn't played on the radio and she has no access to network TV. In other words, she is criminally underexposed. Haley needs to find someone professional to manage the business part of her career for her and to negotiate a record deal for her. Cause the last time she negotiated with the record labels, she became overwhelmed and stressed out and just said fuck it.

It is possible that, to her, the perfect music career is one where she can make a decent living playing clubs and small shows... nobody pushing her to produce, nobody driving her style to be more marketable, able to walk down the street without getting swamped with fans. However, all of that talk abruptly ended in 2016 after months of negotiating with all of the big major record labels when Haley just became utterly overwhelmed, overly frustrated, and very stressed out and then said fuck it. Hence, she immediately stopped pursing her dreams at that time. Haley's problem is she tries to do everything herself. However, that's a big mistake . As all the best music artists today have a professional business person that negotiates their record contracts for them and that run the day to day business end of their careers. While they focus entirely on the art end of the business. Haley needs to do the same thing. Find a professional business person who can accomplish the exact same thing for her. Not to mention, Haley is 29 years old. In only a few more years, she will inevitably slowly start to lose her looks and when that inevitably starts to happen, she is going to find it harder and harder to earn a decent living via being a music artists. Then as time goes on, she will inevitably have to eventually get a full time job like everyone else to make ends meet, and when that inevitability eventually happens, she will look back and reflect on her career and regret not making better decisions when she was younger. As Haley could easily become financially secure in only a short matter of time. That's how talented she is. Thus, I would hate to see her miss her opportunity.

There are many artists that take full control of their career (Taylor Swift is the first one to come to mind, but there are many others) Also, a 29 year old is not "on the way out" looks-wise as you are describing (you've seen J-Lo right?). I really haven't followed Haley's story much since Idol, but if it is as you have described here, it sounds like personal choices have put her where she is in her career.

I must admit I had the same exact reaction you did to this. This woman is one the best singers of the last 50 years. Also must react to "oops I did it again". Yeah, a Brittnany Spears trainwreck of a song, but Haley does it in the proper over the top Marilynn Monroe style that's leaves you shaking your head and smiling. My favorite is the official " I don't know how to love you" (without PMJ, I believe) Geezus, I'm gonna marry this woman, if somebody will break it to my wife...., only to find she made a full orchestral version.
I completly agree! This is a masterpiece! I love Radiohead and i love the original, but this cover is insane! I was actually going to recomend another band, but now that you have discoverd PMJ, i got a couple of song for you, i am sure you will find interresting.. The band consists of different sessionmusicians, where only Scott Bradlee, who founded the band, is playing in every song. The other musicians is recording with the band, when they have time, because all of them also does other projects. So there is a big change in the lineup, from track to track. Including the leadvocals. The first couple of songs i will recomend is; 1) “All about that bass” 2) “Oops, i did it again” 3) “Crazy” 4) “All the small things” 5) “Who wants to live forever”. The first two is with Haley Rheinhart, the first one she sings with two other fantastic female singers. The third is a duet. This band has made 40’s, 50’s and 60’s music popular again, in my group of friends and because i always have loved the old type of music, i think they are the best thing that has happend to the musicindustry, in a long long time!

Haley recorded a cover of the Elvis song "Can't Help Falling in Love" in 2016 and every day people - usually young women - post a a cover of her cover. Her version was recorded for an Extra gum advert and proved so popular it charted on adult contemporary radio. All of PMJ's stuff is great. They have several with Haley. Joey Cook is another great singer. She has a unique voice.
Haley Reinhart is the best thing to ever come from American Idol. It was nearly 10 years ago, and how she is not a grammy winning artist by now, I just don't understand. When it comes to this style, there is nobody better. Postmodern Jukebox is definitely worth checking out. They have lots of great covers... so many unique takes on modern songs. The artists change all the time, so there's a lot of variety.
She is not a signed music artist. Hence, her music isn't played on the radio and she has no access to network TV. In other words, she is criminally underexposed. Haley needs to find someone professional to manage the business part of her career for her and to negotiate a record deal for her. Cause the last time she negotiated with the record labels, she became overwhelmed and stressed out and just said fuck it.
@@theblackdog2399 Some artists are perfectly happy being under exposed. It is possible that, to her, the perfect music career is one where she can make a decent living playing clubs and small shows... nobody pushing her to produce, nobody driving her style to be more marketable, able to walk down the street without getting swamped with fans.
I don't know if she is staying "small" on purpose or not, but ....come to think of it, that does sound like the perfect music career. ;)
@@RustyShacklefordChannel Uhm... for years all Haley talked about during interviews was winning Grammy Awards, making it into the rock and roll hall of fame, appearing at music award shows, being on Saturday Night Live, being on late night TV and morning shows, being a judge on singing shows and building her parents a new home and financially taking care of them. However, all of that talk abruptly ended in 2016 after months of negotiating with all of the big major record labels when Haley just became utterly overwhelmed, overly frustrated, and very stressed out and then said fuck it. Hence, she immediately stopped pursing her dreams at that time.
Haley's problem is she tries to do everything herself. However, that's a big mistake . As all the best music artists today have a professional business person that negotiates their record contracts for them and that run the day to day business end of their careers. While they focus entirely on the art end of the business. Haley needs to do the same thing. Find a professional business person who can accomplish the exact same thing for her.
Not to mention, Haley is 29 years old. In only a few more years, she will inevitably slowly start to lose her looks and when that inevitably starts to happen, she is going to find it harder and harder to earn a decent living via being a music artists. Then as time goes on, she will inevitably have to eventually get a full time job like everyone else to make ends meet, and when that inevitability eventually happens, she will look back and reflect on her career and regret not making better decisions when she was younger. As Haley could easily become financially secure in only a short matter of time. That's how talented she is. Thus, I would hate to see her miss her opportunity.

There are many artists that take full control of their career (Taylor Swift is the first one to come to mind, but there are many others) Also, a 29 year old is not "on the way out" looks-wise as you are describing (you've seen J-Lo right?). I really haven't followed Haley's story much since Idol, but if it is as you have described here, it sounds like personal choices have put her where she is in her career.

I. Am. Refreshed by your honest revelations of your emotions. As a 60 year old woman I have recently given up on society's roots. Men have been STIFLED and stunted in their outward appreciation of women. This is a terrible turn of events. Seven Nations Army is another excellently done cover. I'm sure by now you have discovered many more. They, PMJ is the most unusual act to come along in ages. Thank you for not censoring your approval. Gives me hope.

Also must react to "oops I did it again". Yeah, a Brittnany Spears trainwreck of a song, but Haley does it in the proper over the top Marilynn Monroe style that's leaves you shaking your head and smiling.

I completly agree! This is a masterpiece! I love Radiohead and i love the original, but this cover is insane! I was actually going to recomend another band, but now that you have discoverd PMJ, i got a couple of song for you, i am sure you will find interresting..
The band consists of different sessionmusicians, where only Scott Bradlee, who founded the band, is playing in every song. The other musicians is recording with the band, when they have time, because all of them also does other projects. So there is a big change in the lineup, from track to track. Including the leadvocals. The first couple of songs i will recomend is;
1) “All about that bass”
2) “Oops, i did it again”
3) “Crazy”
4) “All the small things”
5) “Who wants to live forever”.
The first two is with Haley Rheinhart, the first one she sings with two other fantastic female singers. The third is a duet. This band has made 40’s, 50’s and 60’s music popular again, in my group of friends and because i always have loved the old type of music, i think they are the best thing that has happend to the musicindustry, in a long long time!

My thoughts exactly. I felt that Haley and PMJ did with Creep what Disturbed did with Simon & Garfunkel's the Sound of Silence. You might like to check out both the official video and the live version on Conan. Absolutely phenomenal.
