Roger absolutely slayed this. This performance most truly captures the spirit of Pink Floyd since Live 8. I was at the show in Boston and it was one of the best shows I’ve seen in a while.
I don't always like to take photos or video at shows, either. I tend to just sit back and take in the experience. When I saw them on this tour, I did capture a little video on my phone, and I'm glad I did. I've already gone back and watched it. Oh, and I also happened to meet Guy Pratt after the show. They did a great job re-capturing the sound and feel, yet it was updated just enough that I felt it was very accessible and enjoyable for those who were long-time Floyd fans as well as the younger crowd.
Fantastic - and Roger sharing a stage with his replacement in the Floyd, Guy Pratt, and giving him a big hug at the end of it too. Never thought I'd see the day!
Louise X Not sure Guy has ever toured with Roger? Any bass playing duties on the In The Flesh tour that weren't in the hands of Roger himself were taken on by Andy Fairweather Low. Multi-instrumentalist Jon Carin, on the other hand, has played on both Roger's and Dave's solo tours...
David stated many times that without Rick a reunion is impossible. Even Nick has given up on the idea. I think they'll continue to star in each other's concerts.
Mad Matt... IMPOSSIBLE! Rick Wright is DEAD! 1/4 of Pink Floyd is GONE! so it will be David, Roger and Nick. That is all. Sorry to bust that bubble of illusion.
Wow! Come on David, get in there with these two... and then one last PF tour for us that were too young for the last one! And thanks for uploading this video!
Joe Bryant, You obviously have not seen Dave Gilmour's latest podcasts, talking about his guitar auction, when asked about is there any plans for a Pink Floyd reunion he said ' no not at the moment, but who knows in the future' then he said, ' never say never', sounds like Dave is beginning to mellow as he gets older, here's hoping something happens, Peace..
Joe Bryant, Yeah l get that your post was 3 or 4 weeks ago, l just mentioned it because You seemed adamant that, what did you say,' not a hope in hell ' which l thought was a bit strong, but hey we are all Pink Floyd fans here, and l think if Nick and Dave did tour together again, they would call themselves Pink Floyd, because the name is strong, after all they did the very same during the Momentary lapse of reason period. The album was a Pink Floyd Album in spite of the fact that Rick Wright was not on it, but of course he came back later for subsequent tours. Peace
This is so damn awesome! Saw them in Akron and it was a fantastic show. I envy all those that got to see this particular performance live. What a moment!

Seeing as these two have been friends since school, I would not doubt that Nick planted that bad drum baton. Nick uses it first but purposely uses it in an upright position. He would have known Roger would play it violently and it would eventually slide off. Which is hilarious if it was intentional. You can see Roger's reaction and at one point might be yelling at "Nicky" and probably calling him a tosser! It is hilarious. These two are the great and everlasting friendship of Pink Floyd. It is a joy to see them together.
Looks to me that Roger is just behaving badly. He did similar at the Eric Clapton - Ginger Baker Tribute. ruclips.net/video/DTsRRMUfEQw/видео.html at 6min 10 sec. Ron Wood broke from the pack and told him to get back to playing the cowbell. Nick wouldn't spoil his own concert by setting up a broken gong mallet. Its a gimmick Roger set up so that he could call attention to another sensational event. Like: releasing the floating pig out into the atmosphere. Like: Having Syd led into the studio at the moment he drops the needle on SOYCD. Like: spitting on a fan, who was really probably a roadie he arranged such a stunt with. What an embarrassment.

this is special on so many different levels. it's really indescribable. it's one of those little, remarkable moments that immediately go down in the band's history. Roger with his hand over his ear like in the good ol' days and then, later on, really pumped up waiting for the guys' cue to play the gong, seemingly afraid of messing it all up, was priceless. someone needs to bring this tour to Brazil before it is too late! :( I saw Roger last October in Salvador during his 'Us + Them' tour and I still can't believe that, besides other things, I saw one of the four geniuses that composed my favourite album of all time ('Animals') play 2/3 of it live, unbelievably close to the original arrangements (I went nuts when I heard that delicious backing synthesiser towards the end of the main guitar solo in 'Dogs', twice, in a fucking stadium with I-don't-know-how-many thousand people-don't even get me started on the overall astonishing quality of the live sound mix), and with an unbeatable stage set (during the first set, I almost cried thinking that we were not going to have the station's chimneys over the stage's wall. stupid me. when they started to rise up, I had the time of my life while screaming my lungs out). that truly made up for the fact that I wasn't able to see him during his 'The Wall' tour, which broke my heart back then. but Nick... I cannot even measure how happy I would be to go experience one of these once-in-a-lifetime gigs and see a gem such as, say, 'Lucifer Sam' (!!!) played live-especially because I was also not able to see David when he came by some years ago during his 'Rattle That Lock' tour, so Nick would make up 2/3 of ex-Floyd members still alive that I would've seen (and hopefully David has not retired yet and I'll still see him someday...). unfortunately, I don't think Nick is going to make it down here to South America. cruel world... hope at least a DVD comes out of this in the future.
