the rubber ring and plate replacement sell out there in internet, just replace it with new one. your previous one is not broken. you can buy the replacement and it will work the same. make sure buy the ring with the same size and from official shop.

If the Italians use the mocha pot to make coffee they drink it out of 2 ounce cups (about the same size of your child’s tea set cup) I also get a half cup of coffee from my stainless steel 4cup mocha pot.
Tip:if you find that your coffee is lukewarm rinse the carafe with boiling water,especially during winter I found that the carafe is ice cold and because the coffee flows in it slowly it cools down instantly.

Why don't you fill with hot water, it's much quicker

I tried hot and cold water on my Bialetti Venus and I get the best results with cold water, I thank that's work better on aluminum pot
