    I like these trains. They had so much promise, but they were unfortunately plagued by technical issues. I like the way they look and sound, though, just because they have a little bit of charm that sets them apart from other high speed trains.

      You do realise they weren't actual passengers? They would have been actors/extras with the film production company who made this video (which I think would have been Spa Films Ltd, who produced the FGW In Case of Emergency film, amongst other training/safety films). Paul is also an actor, and he is taking on the part of a presenter in this video. The FGW staff featured in this video would have been asked beforehand whether they wanted to take part, and giving their opinion of the Adelante (when compared to the working environment they would have been used to on the HST's).

    15:24 It’s A Interlock Light Not A Hazard Light

    • @BritishTrainspotting
      @BritishTrainspotting 5 месяцев назад

      Actually that is incorrect, the exterior lights are illuminated only when some status of the train means that the interlock will NOT be active. This is an official staff training video, so the term is by nature correct.

      HD Transport yeah, how hard can it be to answer the question you were actually asked...?

    • @joeymandrews
      @joeymandrews 3 года назад +1

      You seem to have forgotten that Mike answered Paul's question with a few answers. He first mentions safety (ATP), and then goes on to talk about the service (e.g. the onboard Refresca catering facility), followed by his mention of information provision (e.g. the dot matrix displays), and then he mentions the disabled facilities (accompanied by a member of staff assisting a wheelchair user onto the train). So he did actually respond to Paul's question with a decent answer. Also you need to remember this was filmed back in 2001 around the time of the Adelante's introduction. For us to be watching this in the late 2010's/early 2020's, the railway industry is very different now to how it was back then. We need to consider the fact that this was a different age entirely. Thing's have certainly changed. What may have been deemed revolutionary back then has become the norm for the railways today.

    I love how they say 4 minutes is quick for trains but they obviously don’t know about the TGV for a TGV 0 to200mph is only 50 seconds
