Sprig is getting big, great video.
I learned so much with your videos in training my GSP, you guys are the best. Love your equipment too, I ordered bird launcher and easy lead and I'm so satisfied😀
Great intro video! I'm going to start working with my Lab Booker. My mom grew up in Pretty Prairie, great little town! We still have family there today. Thanks for the good video!
That’s awesome! Small world! Thanks for watching.
thanks for watching the video
What setting were you using on the collar and do you have any other previous videos that show introduction to collar in regards to establishing the correct or preferred setting? Appreciate the great videos and content that you put out! Thank you
I noticed no clicker training in this video segment, still do the clicker training when starting collar conditioning too? or drop that part out? great videos, great dogs!
around 6:10 I feel like the penny dropped for me. Because I saw that the dog was responsive to the behavior you want: drop your hand and/or say "here" and he comes and boops your hand. I didn't understand why you would then stim the dog during this reliable response. But I think at 6:10 you explained, that the dog is responsive in low distraction environments, but needs a better stimulus to respond when it is in high distraction environments like the field. In other words the remote collar is the high-distraction stimulus because the body gesture and/or voice command may not get through to the dog - is this a correct interpretation?
When and how do you get them off kibble training?
Are you using a “nick” stimulation and would you start with vibration mode?
Nice how teach them there name with no problems
Were you using a very little amount of shock or just vibration?
We you using a vibrate or pulse for this training?
Vibrate!
StandingStoneKennels is it a circumstance thing then that the dog learns whether vibrate means come back vs go to kennel?
Im new to this but interested. What exactly does the collar do?
It allows you to reinforce behaviors you have already taught through positive reinforcement. It is especially helpful when you have a puppy that starts to get independent and treats aren't a valuable enough reward for a recall in high distracting environments.
Can dogs become collar wise? Where they will only listen well when the collar is on? Do you have any tips for preventing something like that?
Yes they can consistency is key. All of our dogs run advanced tests where they aren’t allowed to wear collars. We build all the ground work for that with e-collar training.
