It’s really amazing how much you put in the video. Everybody else just shows the dog at the begging, then the end, and says “buy my training guide”. God bless you sir. Not all hero’s wear capes
This just got my 16 week cocker to stop laying down and digging his heels - entirely of my own doing! 2x10 minute sessions and it's almost gone. So happy!
Whenever you talk in that sweet, happy, praising voice to doggies it makes me feel all happy and fuzzy inside too- as if I am the one being rewarded! Haha! 😄
It's so great to see a training video with a less easy dog breed. There are so many videos of people showing their skills with Border Collies, Malinois and ect. But this is where your knowledge and talent has to kick in. Very useful video showing the subtle nuances training such breed and the reason behind it. Thank you for sharing it. You mentioned that slip lead is your favourite tool. How would you compare it to a choke chain and Martingale? It would be lovely if you made a separate video about those and other training tools.
hehe, you should see how "easy" it is if you have a Malinois-Greyhound-Mix..... this is no fun either, I tell you! :) She's driving us nuts!!!! By the way, nice video @Fenrir Canine Traing, I NEED YOUR HELP!!! Pleeease :)
I have a Lab about Eileen's age. The differences in the two is amazing. I have to work on slowing him down, not getting him started. I'll be doing these pressure drills from now on though.
As much as I wish I had sent my dog to Brandon for training before bringing him home ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU I am so grateful for this down-to-earth, practical guide. His training techniques and tips really work. Thank you as well for dedicating your life's work to rescue dogs, and to rescuing those of us who want the very best for our 4-legged family members.
Duuude! I am so glad I lucked up and got my pup when you got Eileen. My kangal pup HATES the leash and digs in every time. I have been doing exactly what you displayed in this vid, but until I saw this video I had no idea if my approach was sound or if I was creating more problems. I have never had a dog so independent/ stubborn in regards to having a natural dislike of a leash and going for walks. Historically it's always been me teaching my dogs to stop pulling, but never to start walking lol. Thanks again!
I just discovered your channel yesterday, and I find it one of the most informative dog-training channels I've watched! I really enjoy it, and I've already learned a few things to teach our 11th-month-old field labrador. Cheers!
This is exactly what I was longing for to help teach my puppy to walk with me and not pull. I just ran through half a dozen other unhelpful videos. Wish I would have found you first, thanks!
How did it turn out? I have an 1 year old jack mix. He was doing good, but we went to harness too quickly and others in the house let him pull. Sometimes I feel like I'm just leading him with treats.
This is exactly the example I needed to watch. I have been searching endlessly about how to get a puppy that digs her heals in the move on the slip lead. My 11 week old Springador is sooooo stubborn with digging her heals in and not moving unless she is going in the direction that she wants. So thank you. I really needed to see this today.
Absolutely bloody brilliant! Thank you so very much for taking us along on a realistic training session with the wonderful Eileen. Will, you have just shown us how patient we need to be AND that we need to break the desired outcome into small achievable steps. It was also magical to watch the interaction between the two of you, and how closely you watched her body language. Wow. More like this please.
Im so glad you show that it isn't as quick as one or two attempts. I have 2 pups that i unfortunately and unintentionally taught horrible lead habits to. Ive been working with each every day this week using corrections and rewards. One is getting it, but the other is a bit more stubborn.
We're getting a Marremano pup who was abandoned and has never been in a household before. I find that your videos are the only ones that really educate owners on the psychology of the dog and the root of behaviours and success. I feel this education is what stands your videos apart from the others and is so valuable because owners needs to be trained just as much as the dogs do! I can't wait to take the puppy course! Keep up the good work!
@@Jack-bi8mg he's doing so well! He's not toy or food driven at all so it's been a journey of trust and building a relationship with him to follow commands. His fear tends to override everything when he's scared so not quite sure how to maintain leadership when something has scared him during a walk 😩
@@rorayneadventures108 yeah, I have a very fearful puppy as well. I find it can be frustrating. He does so well otherwise. And the guidance we got from a trainer to remove him or avoid the situation doesnt work when he needs to go out or to daycare. No amount of treats or distraction works when fear kicks in.
This video was insanely helpful thank you so so much. I have six month old shepard never had large breed dog in my life I’m learning so so much. Much needed🙏🙏
Our 2 year old border collie was incredibly reactive when we adopted him 7 months ago. We believe fully that this is because he’d been walked on a harness for the first 18 months of his life. The owner sent a harness with him when we picked him up and it enabled him to pull like a freight train. We quickly replaced this for the flat collar and later on a prong collar. It’s been a long process over these past few months of trying to undo the terrible habit he’s been allowed to do for so long and teach him to walk nicely on a lead. He’s still by no means perfect but it’s a massive improvement compared to where he was. I would give anything to be able to go back to the beginning like this and teach him to heel from scratch before he’d learned to pull 😂 That being said there’s still things from this video I can incorporate into his training for sure. Excellent video as always mate!
Great job Will my 4 month old cane corso Ghost has come a long ways watching your videos. Your videos are much appreciated has helped us both out a lot.
It’s so nice to see a video with a stubborn dog, lol! It’s gets frustrating when your puppy is so stubborn and I really appreciate your thorough explanation and walk thru of it all.
Thank you so much for this video! It's easy to verbally explain a concept of training but then to actually watch it with an animal that's not already trained is so helpful! I'll be getting a bullmastiff this year, so understanding the stubbornness and less drive than other breeds, this is so helpful!
I have a Mastiff/GSD mix. I am not able to tell if she is more the Mastiff or the GSD. She’s intelligent when she wants to be and stubborn when I don’t want her to be. Despite her training I like following your methods and techniques. And I cannot begin to tell you how much they’ve helped me establish an understanding of this giant. Thank you! Please continue with the fabulous work you’re doing. #Fenrir #dogbehaviour
Excellent! I've been searching for days on how to stop a puppy from digging in her heels and refusing to walk. This video perfect for my German Shepard/Portuguese Mastiff mix. The most stubborn dog I've ever owned. She's 9 weeks but I am sure this lesson will help tremendously. Thank You.
Just discovered you about a week ago. First of all, I wanted to thank you for the videos. The instructions are clear and concise. These are some of the best training techniques I have seen online. Just like the Dog Whisperer, you stress that the owner's energy is so vital in the training process. I will order one of your dog training leashes. Hope you deliver in Turkey. I live in Kusadasi Turkey and in all, there is only one professional trainer who is way too expensive.
I have to be honest and say, I love your videos your content is simple yet easy to follow which makes sense so thank you very much. As we have a Belgian Malinois puppy she is nearly 6 months old...
So good to see the 'process'...and how it really takes patience from the handler to work with the dog...so glad I found your training...so sad you're not in Australia! Currently trying to teach my 2 cockers 'everything'...but crate training is taking the priority - I was adamant I wasn't going to buy crates as our other dogs never had them (they were older rescues)...but Ollie and Milo will be our last/into retirement pets...and after after watching you, I have changed my mind 100%
I LOVE Eileen! It's so funny to me how stubborn all the giants I have worked with are. Just like this! I always tell my friends and family "you don't so much train a giant, as you negotiate with one" Once you're on the same page though, they'll do anything for you! And I mean anything! I don't think they're less intelligent, just that they want to do things their own way, and will bang their heads against a wall to get there! Like Eileen with the fence, "I want be with Puppy, but this isn't working, let me try here or here or maybe here? No? Ok I do something else" 😂😂😂 It sometimes does require a tremendous amount of patience, but they're all so sweet it's hard to get really cross with them. Thank you for this very real video, Will! ❤️
Dude, you're awesome - getting a Samoyed puppy in a week and I've been binging your videos. Making me feel much more confident that I'll be able to raise a happy, well-behaved, and confident dog. Thanks so much for sharing your passion!
This one was very helpful. I love that you use real time training not an already trained dog like others on UTube. I needed this for my new 8 wk old Collie pup.
So helpful. We are the other end of the scale, a very small, very confident puppy. I totally agree it's not just obedience, (She has picked up very quickly the basic commands,) its manners we are really working on. Your videos consistently point us in the right direction. In fact you are the first trainer I have watched who talks about the importance of manners, and manners in all dogs, no matter how small and cute, are vitally important. Thankyou
I discovered your channel a couple weeks ago and I’ve been watching your videos since then. I have a 9 month old golden retriever that initially would listen and behave really well but for the past 2 months she just ignores me and doesn’t listen to me anymore. Hopefully with these videos I’ll learn how to get her to listen and train her better. I want her to be a service dog in the future for my mom so I know she has to be really well trained and that’s why I’m so frustrated. Thank you for your videos! I’m sure they’ll help 🙂
This was so helpful. Wife and I were just outside trying to walk our 4 month old Pitt for the first time and she would dig her heels in and freeze. She does ok if we arent trying to get her to follow but refuses to follow. On top of that our vet suggested a harness instead of a leash but boy was he ever wrong. Thanks so much for this video.
Thank you for this. You have really solved a problem for us and we can move to the next level on this. I really appreciate how to communicate using this lead.
Thank you for this video! I have always had rotty crosses. x shepherds and other medium/large smart dogs. We got a rotty x Bull Mastiff pup a week ago, I watched this video and then literally a day or 2 later took him out for his first time on lead in the back yard (just 2 mins) and this is exactly what happened! Haha. Have never had this reaction so was so grateful that I had just watched this and knew exactly how to handle it the right way. Thank you Will
Get my rottweiler puppy next week. Been watching every single video of yours because I'd like to nail training from the get go. Love your explanation. I watched several videos regarding training the Heel command and some how your video just clicked and I understand it. Currently training my 7 month Yorkie. Thank you! :)
Fantastic! Thank you, i'm doing the perfect puppy course with my 4 mnth old French Mastiff. This video has been so helpful, particularly from a breed point of view.
Gonna try this on my 2yo old dalmatian, he wasnt trained as a puppy and my biggest wish is to walk him normally without pulling. The slip leash seems to help already so this is the next step for me. Thank you
Good live videos! I follow Will perfect puppy course and my Presa Canario is a "perfect" 16 month old Presa. But its good to see this live videos any way :)
Brother, you are an amazing coach/trainer . I don’t like flying my dog anywhere I purchase without it being at my feet . I would love a bullmastiff from you if you were a breeder but I’m in the states . I’m new to your channel and haven’t done my binging yet but if you breed let me know we just put a deposit on a male bullmastiff after losing our champ Grunt in October . This breed is unlike any other in my definitely biased mind 😂
Thank u soo much for all these productive informative videos, i have learned so much. But there is something in my opinion almost every trainer miss to teach us is: how to react or what to do if my dog did the opposite of what im training them. For example if im training SIT for several times and once he just ran and kept running chasing a cat!! not answering his recall or come!! What should i do? Should i keep calling him? Should I stop so that my command means somthing? Should i chase him? Should i try to distract him? Although ive tried !! I really need help what to do if bad behavior like this happen what should our response be as a leader? Would really appreciate ur answer from ur own prospective. Thanks.
I am definitely guilty of making all of the mistakes you mentioned in this video. Starting your Boot camp today and this will definitely help with the socialisation element.
Thanks for your videos, you do a great job explaining things. I have a 2 months old American Akita, who doesn't seem to be motivated by treats. She digs her heels and doesn't want to move forward. I'm currently using a harness but will consider using a slip leash. Is it too early for slip leash training at this age?
I just love your voice when praising the dogs! It's so funny😆😆
And it works
Giant hairy tattoed beast man, saying cute things in girly voice. God bless him.
Yep gets a good contrast compared to angry low growly voice.
I find myself saying good girl in his accent when I’m training my pup lol

I’m new to your channel and haven’t done my binging yet but if you breed let me know we just put a deposit on a male bullmastiff after losing our champ Grunt in October . This breed is unlike any other in my definitely biased mind 😂
Dang that's an impressive sleeve!
Very helpful thanks!
You're so welcome!
Thank you for video this is so helpful.
Outstanding thank you Sir.
Thanks.
I'm lovin your vids man I can see improvement in my sharpie x staffy
I am definitely guilty of making all of the mistakes you mentioned in this video. Starting your Boot camp today and this will definitely help with the socialisation element.
Thanks for your videos, you do a great job explaining things. I have a 2 months old American Akita, who doesn't seem to be motivated by treats. She digs her heels and doesn't want to move forward. I'm currently using a harness but will consider using a slip leash. Is it too early for slip leash training at this age?
