The biggest thing I've learned from this channel is that attitude is almost as important as skill. I grew up in an abusive home and as soon as I was on my own, I tried to surround myself with people like this. I remember working on cars with my father and praying I did everything perfectly the first time or face the consequences. At that time I didn't know people and families like this existed. Anyway, I'm grateful for your channel and your success and another great video.
Man, Mrs. O came running out real quick when you fired up that vet! Y'all have a great family and I thoroughly enjoy the interactions between y'all in the videos. The videos are always informative and entertaining. Have a great memorial day weekend!
I swear you can work on anything and make it look EZ The people of Avoca are blessed to have a mechanic with your ability and work ethic. Tip of the hat to you sir
Best way to describe left side to people is to refer to steering, left side steering in North America, right side Europe etc. Love the show for about 6 years now. Used to watch car shows on TV all the time but the shows stopped showing the work and are now all talk and advertising so all I watch now is diagnostics and tuning videos on RUclips. Even the news is real here if you know not to watch corporate owned news. Always just been a hobbiest/racer doing repairs for friends and always been good with electronics for a self taught guy so since I retired from the government I am now doing diagnostics and programming for neighbours and local garbages and you played a major role in that development.
Mrs. O is a totally cool/funny chick. Love to see a good looking, family oriented woman have a sense of humor and not all stuck up and offended at your jokes. Shes a definite keeper. You already knew that tho.
On this weekend. It’s not a holiday. It’s a time to honor and respect our fallen. Bless them for our freedom 🙏🏻🇺🇸💪. Please visit those marble markers if you have the way. Go ahead shed a cry 😢
Im 68 and always been a car guy, do everything I can myself, I drove a truck for many years and always gravitated towards the mechanics hoping to pick something up. I can watch watch a guy work on anything and pretty fast till if hes got it, and you have the whole package, love watching watching your diagnostics, wish you lived closer to me... Best Regards Greg
I drove to BORLA in Oxnard California in 1986 with my then new Mustang SVO turbo-four. They fitted the 1st ever kit made for one on my car. OMG that sounds great!
C-5 overheating can be a plugged up radiator, it’s like a vacuum cleaner, sucking up all leaves on the road and since the radiator is at an angle, they don’t fall off when you stop. Look under the front bumper with a mirror you may be surprised.
Yeah that's what it was. It was jammed right full of seeds and birds and leaves. Pretty much everything. Took almost a half of 5 gallon pal of dirt and debris out from in there. Most people don't see it on these cars because nobody drives them. Apparently they think they're special haha. I don't see the big deal. They're like $15,000 cars on Facebook marketplace. Why let it sit around, get out and beat the pants off the thing. I don't save nothing for the next guy haha.
Did a similar job on the Mustang the other week, swapped out the boring old factory center resonator for a h-pipe. All the reciprosaw fun but with the extra spice that the pipe cuts had to be made right next to the gas tank. I had to do it on jack stands so my cat was able to occasionally come by and give me a solid headbutt of encouragement.
I'm a Chevy guy and I know you're not Mr. O, but I have now adopted your phrase "Woah Chevy thunder!" Even when I just changed the spark plugs and did an oil change on my 2010 Malibu with the big 2.4 I started it after I was done and had to say the phrase.
Nothing to do with the content of this particular video, I just want to say "Thank You" again for doing what you do. We know that there is allot of time and work involved in making these awesome videos and we appreciate it!
Only about 2/3 of the way through, but I had to stop and comment. This is a production shop where time is money, period. But every job I see is handled just like he was working on his own car, checking details and making sure everything is perfect - not just bolted together. That says everything about how Mr. O approaches his work and his regard for his customers. I don't know his hourly rate, but whatever it is it's worth it since the job will be done to the highest standards. The opposite of roll it in, roll it out ASAP.
I did this in my dads driveway on his C5 back in 04. I was 19 and it was the first time my dad handed me a beer. We did it in August, was 110 degrees and 150% humidity. It SUCKED
May be the first time I have seen an exhaust has arrived without at least one pipe end deformed. It work$, but Borla is pretty proud of that packaging $ystem.
I bought an OBX catback for my G6 several years ago. It came packaged the same way with the expanding foam. It's probably not that uncommon for items like this.
Eric I love your interactions with the kitty it's almost like you're a different person when you are dealing with the kitty, and he is or she is cute as a button.
I thought her name was Rona for the longest time, then I heard it clearly, Luna. She wasnt fooling around about going inside with Mrs. O who has the goodies for her. She was polite with Mr. O and tolerated his delay in opening the door, but she wanted in now.
"it looks like I just washed the dishes" 🤣🤣perfect. don't be overly sensitive about things and just embrace it. always think of the end outcome, just like doing a great automotive repair.
At least you don't have, as AvE would say, "Summer teeth." Summer here, summer there. Thanks for taking us along, Mr. O. Nice to see a daily driven C5 in such good shape.
Thank you for your honesty and integrity your clear and articulate explanations are excellent your combination of old school and new methods are amazing. I really love your interaction with Mrs o God bless you both
I just pulled the Borla off my now dead 2001 VW VR6 GTi after nearly 200k miles of use...the car was a rusted hulk, the muffler is fine and will be going on my next car. Good product!
I had an exhaust stop install a catback Magnaflow system on my 20 Ram 5.7l anyway they told be 100 bucks. I said go for it. When I picked it up they took it back in 3 times to get the 2 mufflers to finally have some resemblance of eveness. They earned that 100 bucks. I bet they don't give a set price in the future for an aftermarket exhaust!
Got the same exhaust on my 2020 ram 1500. Absolutely love it. Good tone, yet not overpowering where you can't drive it long distance without getting a headache.
I got a good laugh out of "may pops". I was walking into work one day and noticed I could see steel belts on one of the guys tires that commutes 90 miles each way. I went by his work station to let him know. He was as calm as could be when he replied, they are 2 plies and that's only the first showing.
That Vette looks mighty good on ya sir!! And of course the wifey shows up after you’ve been revvin up that LS!! Haha This was a good one!! I’m figurin oh just another exhausting job installing a Borla X-Pipe kit on a C5, but ohhh no no no, it wasn’t!! Great job mechanican once again sir! God bless~
Nice sound of "CHEVY THUNDER!" "LIKE A ROCK!" Nice to see Mrs. O and of course your cat. Other than the "mellow exhaust sound," I'd like to see just how much extra Horse Power and Torque the Borla cat-back system makes from about 2000 RPM to 6500 RPM on a chassis dyno.
Nice work! Obviously Mrs O likes them. It was funny that the camera was pointing at the door because I also thought, I wonder if Mrs. O will come out because of the nice sounding pipes. Girls did that with glass pacs in my day!

Hello brother. Been there. Kept coming across the bad ones till I learned the same. You don't have to stay around jerks. I was kinda slow. lol
That is hands-down one of the best V8 exhausts I have heard to date.
The WD-40 wrapped mug at the end is classic, all you need now is a Brakleen wrapped mug and you will be set.
Until he grabs a real can thinking that it's a drink!
😂😂😂
And a Fluid Film one.
And a Berrymans B12! That will wake you up!
@@Big_Loo they have those!

That was a riot.
Ya seen what I saw so you tell me.... Emmm I right!?
@@SouthMainAuto Darn straight!
probably thought something went horribly wrong. lol
I swear you can work on anything and make it look EZ The people of Avoca are blessed to have a mechanic with your ability and work ethic. Tip of the hat to you sir
it really is easy .. especially with a lift.. and if you know whats wrong..
some of that wiring/weird stuff he finds i cant do that as a normal person

Dang! Corvette + Loud Exhaust = Mrs. O out there in a heartbeat!😅
Mrs. O is a totally cool/funny chick. Love to see a good looking, family oriented woman have a sense of humor and not all stuck up and offended at your jokes. Shes a definite keeper. You already knew that tho.
Great attitude and all it takes is Mrs.O to come out of the office and you can tell how happy they are together. Great team.
Loud exhaust note always impresses the ladies!!! 👍🇺🇦👍🇺🇦
On this weekend. It’s not a holiday. It’s a time to honor and respect our fallen. Bless them for our freedom 🙏🏻🇺🇸💪. Please visit those marble markers if you have the way. Go ahead shed a cry 😢
@29:50, Hot Chick shows up. That was the laugh I needed to start the day. Thanks for the share.
Nothing like a good swig of WD after a little job to keep the pipes lubed.
And as always “THANKS FOR POSTING” !!
If I could be guarantee that buying a Corvette with a loud exhaust would manifest a quality lady like Mrs. O, I buy one tomorrow 😂
You said it
I guess the Telsa guys are S.O.L 😂
The two of them do make an absolutely epic couple, I completely agree.
They're both like a fine wine. Better with age!
Wonder if an old Mustang is good enough?
I love it when Mrs. O appears in the video. She's a special lady, Eric is a very blessed man...
I like seeing an old Corvette that's a driver.
Im 68 and always been a car guy, do everything I can myself, I drove a truck for many years and always gravitated towards the mechanics hoping to pick something up. Love the trolling level with that WD - 40 tumbler 😂😂😂
It already had a good factory exhaust with a Stainless H pipe cross-over. I would have bolted the new mufflers on only and called it a day.
“Chevy thunder!” Gets me every time. Love it.
Lol love it when Mrs O comes out after you started it up, I’m thinking MrO needs a car with a loud exhaust.great work as always
I’m just glad you gave us the orchestra at the end. I knew they would sound awesome!
I drove to BORLA in Oxnard California in 1986 with my then new Mustang SVO turbo-four. They fitted the 1st ever kit made for one on my car.

always a good day when Luna makes an appearance.
Mrs. O proves it! Borla is the official SMA "chick magnet" performance exhaust of all time!

The interaction between Mr. and Mrs. O makes me smile. Such a cute couple.
"Man Down" _my favorite phrase by Eric O..............
You and Mrs O are hilarious! Keep up the awesomeness!
I bet he doesn't drive it in the winter , in New York state .
Saw next to a fuel tank isn't bad, but using a propane torch within an inch of a plastic fuel tank is fun.
i love the light blur of the license plate for comedic effect
Thanks Mr. O, and we love you too.
I'm a Chevy guy and I know you're not Mr. O, but I have now adopted your phrase "Woah Chevy thunder!" Even when I just changed the spark plugs and did an oil change on my 2010 Malibu with the big 2.4 I started it after I was done and had to say the phrase.

We need more Mrs O in the videos
She's quick witted and funny.
Best Family in America. A National Treasure! Godbless
Great video Eric :)
At the end you said I hope you guys like it ;)
Mrs "O" liking the "Borla" system!
She got a smile a mile wide 😊
Eric is so smooth; he could pick up chicks riding a skateboard!!😃😃
Love you two! Thanks for the years of help, and thanks, Mrs. O for the love!

The end of this video when Mrs. O comes out to the garage was hilarious!
Welcome to South Main Customs, Xzibit will be here for Part 2!
When I had braces (4 1/2 years) I got a Water Pic. Amazing tool to pressure wash the gunk out of the wires!
That Borla Corvette exhaust is quite the hot chick magnet!
Neighbor has a LOUD Borla exhaust on a Shat-Vette....would trade listening to that thing start every morning for just about anything else.
3:49 Thank you so MUCH !! Most people miss that most important step, read and fully understand what you're about to do BEFORE you try to do it
Eric absolutely married well, Vanessa did too. Happy for them!
We love you too Eric :)
Very impressive packing on the Borla items.
Wonderful work. I woulda cut the dang mufflers to get them out instead of messing with the suspension...but that's why I'm a hack and you're a PRO.
Borla Packaged that exhaust super well
Right!! That’s 150.00 of foam.
May be the first time I have seen an exhaust has arrived without at least one pipe end deformed. It work$, but Borla is pretty proud of that packaging $ystem.
The foam packaging protects the cargo and also it helps protect from a few ups and fed ex folks care that they give
I bought an OBX catback for my G6 several years ago. It came packaged the same way with the expanding foam. It's probably not that uncommon for items like this.
i love the interaction between you and Mrs. O.!!! She is a Keeper for sure.
So I grew up by the tracks. Raised my kids there. I knew to wake up before 06:00💪🙏🏻😎

At 16:43 that torsion bar link bushing looks DONE.
Edit: And you nailed it at 19:25 👍
caught it too, must be high mileage.
What a treat, a little bit of "gas axe" action would have been the icing on the cake.
Perfect timing , as soon as you cut the pipes a vehicle went past with loud exhaust, nice touch lol
You have to follow up with "Chevy THUNDER!"
I sent this video to my neighbor is has plans to upgrade the exhaust on his Corvette. Thanks for the video.
"it looks like I just washed the dishes" 🤣🤣perfect. don't be overly sensitive about things and just embrace it. always think of the end outcome, just like doing a great automotive repair.
The Vette owner has great taste in performance exhaust system.
At least you don't have, as AvE would say, "Summer teeth." Summer here, summer there. Thanks for taking us along, Mr. O. Nice to see a daily driven C5 in such good shape.
Thanks for sharing the family dynamic as well as the muffler install.
Thank you for your honesty and integrity your clear and articulate explanations are excellent your combination of old school and new methods are amazing. I really love your interaction with Mrs o God bless you both

WOW, huge diff ! Always fun when Missus O shows up !
As a “Ford guy”, I have to admit the Corvette is a sexy machine. Nice job with the install!
Same here, prefer my Fords, but have others. I can definitely appreciate other vehicles. Just not convertibles.. 😂
@@sk0.0t3r Same. I am not nearly pretty enough to drive a convertible haha
That went together, a lot smoother than I would’ve ever expected.
I keep telling my buddy we NEED a lift, especially if your over 60. Another quality job Eric. Time for some of your ribs
Always a quality job done no matter what episode I watch
Love hearing Mrs O. Means someone is looking out for you!
One more reason to buy a C5-7 in manual! The transmission is smaller so you don’t have to unbolt the subframe to snake those pipes out. GREAT CAR!
You had me at Borla. Those are some of the best sounding exhausts.
The Corvette mating call.
Got the same exhaust on my 2020 ram 1500. Absolutely love it. Good tone, yet not overpowering where you can't drive it long distance without getting a headache.
Nice job, Eric!
You and the misses,
aww it's a Kodak moment!🙂
Eric you look good sitting in there, I think its just the thing down on the farm.
the ending was THE BEST!!
I got a good laugh out of "may pops". I was walking into work one day and noticed I could see steel belts on one of the guys tires that commutes 90 miles each way. I recently sold my 03 zo6 corvette. I miss the car but it nickel and dimed my to death. I kept the factory titanium exhaust. Perfect sound imo...
As usual, engineers make it hard for technicians.
I thought I was in an alternate reality. Eric O doing exhaust and no torch🤣

Hi Eric and the lovely Mrs. O., The cars always bring out the Pretty Girls! Lucky Man!!👍
As the official bearing aficionado of this channel, its nice to be part of the early squad!
Could be a 20 min. Test drive in the making. and a stop for ice cream 😊😊😊
Nice sounding exhaust.
Packaged really well
Little bit of shiny can even make a 5.3 sound good😂
Nice sound of "CHEVY THUNDER!"
"LIKE A ROCK!"
Nice to see Mrs. O and of course your cat.
Other than the "mellow exhaust sound," I'd like to see just how much extra Horse Power and Torque the Borla cat-back system makes from about 2000 RPM to 6500 RPM on a chassis dyno.
Great work. I can’t wait for the customer to come back and ask you if there is anything that can be done with the drone.
Nice work! Obviously Mrs O likes them. It was funny that the camera was pointing at the door because I also thought, I wonder if Mrs. O will come out because of the nice sounding pipes. Girls did that with glass pacs in my day!
Maypop tires. That's the brand I ran when I was a teenager.😀
Hey, I have the same index finger configuration. Hilarious how Mrs O appeared instantly on startup!
Wow, working on a car that's not all rotted to hell? What a treat!
Have a good holiday Eric...looks like we're going to have great weather all week!
That car likely does not see any use between Halloween and Easter - it's on a low road salt diet.
Also mostly aluminum and fiberglass
You can say you love us. We love you, too.
So fun to watch Mr O and Mrs O interact.
You gotta love Mrs. O!
Yes Sir loud exhaust sure does the trick for attention.. great job.
That looked like a good advertisement for that Diablo blade
