Thanks Michael, got Kanae and myself a lovely Japanese egg omurice lunch 😋 a good walk today ^_^ it was chilly and now the sun out, not as humid as Hawaii though!!
@onlyinjapanGO Hi John. I'm glad you found something delicious to share with your family. I'm looking forward to the day when you and I can share a hot meal together. Preferably Unagi. That's my all time favorite.
Hi John, this streaming took me back to september last year when I stayed at robot hotel asakusabashi! 'Feels like home' watching the route! Arigatou!!
People run to catch you, John! I really like the arches with the train on top. As much as I love trains, I would love to stay along the tracks. Thank you for the walk. I especially love walking through the streets with you being our guide. ❤ OMG! I can't believe you tried the fiber squash.
I walked this route almost every day when I was in Tokyo back last year, looking forward to my stay there again and running into John again. Btw, @49:12, there's a pet-friendly hotel (ICI) in the shot that's pretty decent, even if you aren't travelling with pets. Folks who are interested in staying at Asakusabashi can give it a try.
Akihabara is exactly what a geek wants to see in Japan! That is my #1 spot for just window shopping, checking for retro or brand-new things :) . There is a used electronics store on the first level in one of those historical buildings where you can find quite rare Walkmans on a display, not for sale :) .
I think Ikebukuro has upped its geek game and Nakano is more authentic but for international visitors right off the boat, Akihabara won’t disappoint 😂 no place else like it although it’s gone to the touristy side the last 6-7 years, which is why it’s still alive.
@@onlyinjapanGO I agree, but other cities also have a similar district where geeks can get lost for a day :) , like Den-Den Town in Osaka. I love that place as well! I wish I could find something like that in Europe, but this is exclusive to Japan as far as I know :) .
I enjoyed it adventure but it’s interesting that you tried the drink John Im impressed how many ramen restaurants are in that area hope you find something good to eat
Tried once and DONE 😂 I had to do it, have to be a good sport, take one for the team. Hahaha! I still taste a weird asparagus after the sugar evaporated 🤢
I actually stayed in asakusabashi last summer because it was significantly cheaper and still very close to akihabara. It took us like 20-25 mins to reach akihabara by foot.
@16:25 “I guess just somebody might have passed out in the store, overwhelmed by all the electronics inside of there.” 😂😂😂😂😂 (Let’s hope they’re okay). 💐 Today was my Birthday, I want to say a big ✨Thank You John💫, for taking me along to Akihabara and Asakusabashi and brightening up my day. 😊 Ganbatte Kudasai! 👍
I can tell you about a dozen things that “grow on you” that also will kill you 😳 hard pass on Fiber Squash 🤢 energy drinks shouldn’t have an asparagus aftertaste.
Yeah, it’s not as popular now. Might be the sweetener (corn syrup?) or it’s just not good cost performance or they stopped innovating when so many other sweets shops have been excelling. Japan is a trendy place.
Hi John. I love when you go on these walking tours. Always appreciate when you take us along. Mahalo my bro.

I’m so looking forward to my fist trip to Japan from Tempe Arizona

A day later, I still taste asparagus! 😂
@@onlyinjapanGO oh my goodness. You are a brave soul. Cabbage, Asparagus, carrots. 🤢

Love these very detailed descriptive walking tours. So interesting and you bring each locality to life with your enthusiasm !
i was there in April, its an awesome place, my kids were spell bound & lost for words...
That line to go to the smoking area is truly impressive! Thanks for showing us around. 🤗
Controlled addiction 😂 impressive in many ways.
@@onlyinjapanGO I first thought they were waiting for the bus or something 😅.

Thank you John for bring us in these walking tours. All the food places in your walks made me hungry, lololz
I did this same walk almost step by step a couple months ago! nice to revisit that morning.
Please keep doing these walks so I can prepare a list of places to go when I come back to delightful Japan
Loved it!
It looks really quiet! I will be visiting Akihabara in about 11 days 😊 My second favourite area to visit when in Tokyo
Awesome! Now you know what to expect around town.
@@onlyinjapanGO I will check out this route! I’ve always wanted to venture down this part of town.
Due to time constraints I could not spend much time in the area hope to keep one entire day to explore when I visit next, great walk-through
It’s a really cool walk, esp from 5-8pm for dinner. Loads of great options or head north to Asakusa, 20 min away.

Big fan! 👍
I miss Japan so much💔💔

Hahaha!! " You can get plowed here!" 😂😂
Where Ootoya is today used to be a basketball court/open space in 1999 when I visited Japan for the first time.
i see akihabara and i click MOAR
Spent some time there in 1984.
Has changed quite a bit.

"For those of you who only eat at McDonald's... STOP IT 😾"
😂😂
Those fiber squash's are like coffee. the 1st time is nasty but it will grow on you. just buy a couple more ;)
I can tell you about a dozen things that “grow on you” that also will kill you 😳 hard pass on Fiber Squash 🤢 energy drinks shouldn’t have an asparagus aftertaste.
I feel like I’m going to get a lot of exercise when I get to Japan 😂
I know you will! Walking is the best way to see everything, or maybe I should say miss nothing! Got in 15,000 steps today ^_^
I can't believe he tried that drink? Bleagh
What is the name of that place @57:35 ??
This livestream was brought to you by.... FIBER SQUASH™
Ugh 🤢 “with an unshakable asparagus aftertaste”
i dont know whats worse... drinking fiber squash or being seen by carrying the fiber squash can around...
oh i know that the trash truck kun talks, and it is saying who wants to be isekaied?
I had Beard Papa choux cream when I was in Yokohama and it doesn't quite taste as good as it used to :(

no robot cafe?
Didn’t see it, could have moved.
