My friend's sister had this job in Japan and I think it's a very good job if you don't have time and your schedule isn't working as a high schooler it was easy for her to get this job so that's why they got this job
@@clusterfeld8192 for you of course Some people just want to enjoy there life in Japan Heck in japan you will mostly be lonely because of there toxic work
MioChan It depends, I actually work at a Butler Cafè and the food is kinda good, but we mainly serve japanese food, not sweets, on a side note in many Maid Cafes I visited the food was really good.
It varies place to place, I've been to a cat cafe in Asakusa and the food was great, but I also went to a gundam cafe in Akihabara and it was not so good.
People should just enjoy whatever they like to do and what work they do. Nobody is getting hurt by this and lonely people probably feel like they belong somewhere. More power to this concept, the people working here and the people it attracts that genuinely feel like they have a place where they feel appreciated.
WWII: USA destroyed Japan with atomic bombs 2020: Japan 'destroyed' USA with their cuteness. Yes, I know you can't destroy people with cuteness but you get the joke.
well... those nucleair fumes they did breathe in, as that earlier regime fell, may be part of the reason japan is world leader in crazy stuff;) and us westerners had some soviet infiltration too, leading to all this feminism, transgender, genderfluit and whatnot noncence we have today, instead of the traditional values that actually did build our society. if I look at pre war recordings I always think.. the western world was better than..
Dreamy subliminals I know, but people are always blaming America for everything! Can people just leave us the hell alone, if they hate us so much then stop but attention on us!
This honestly looks like it could be therapeutic. Like if I’m having a super sad day where I’d feel alone, I’d love to be around people who look like they’re happy to see me. Even if it is just part of the job. At least these girls look like they’re genuinely having fun. Their cheeriness can be contagious, I bet.
Exactly. I don't see why people call this 'sad' or 'weird' tbh. Walt Disney has adapted this concept to the western market with Disneyland after all, and nobody would consider that weird or sad. People need a place where they can feel welcomed and given attention to, and I feel a café like this, when taken for what it is, is no different.
@@natalieklein9945 disneyland is about making kids happy. maid cafes specifically caters to grown, lonely weird men who overstep and cant recognise they're just customers. it's really weird when the whole maid thing is about girls being a subordinate to customers who would probably mainly be men. it's also heavily sexualised. in general, anything that has young girls acting like this to men doesn't sit right with me because of the rampant sexism and pedophilia in societies. that's mostly the fault of japanese media tho. the concept of a cafe where everyone is happy go lucky could've been so cute
@@hyukleberry5567 oh yeah, I totally forgot that Disneyland is just for kids 😑 and if you've ever worked as a cast member for Disney (especially portraying a female character) you know that a lot of dads can't keep their hands to themselves while taking pictures btw, but sure, I guess that isn't considered inappropriate to you. All I'm saying is you calling one 'weird' and even throwing in pedophilia while the other is perfectly fine with you makes you look like a hypocrite ✌️

Personally, I would find this to be an absolutely terrifying experience. I can't begin to put into words the amount of discomfort I would feel in the presence of someone who eminates that level energy let alone a whole group of them.
@Rosy DiorioTell people that when they go to disneyland, carnivals, and so on. Women and men both go to maid cafes from many ages. Your treated like royalty in a fun environment so its catered to fun times not to just say fun is not for adults anymore lol. I work at one in cons here in the USA as a male butler. People who come are from children, teens, adults and even elderly. Its a good time and one to feel like your being served by maid staff and enjoy your time with the staff or other guests at the table. This is where the idea came from, japan itself.
The one I went too had men, women and couples seated. It's just for a little fun and Japan does have a big drinking culture so serving alcohol is not a surprise or unusual in such a situation.

Seems like a simple, part-time job for High-schoolers, chill out people.
it is! Most girls working in these places are college or university students. One of the girls in this vid said they were all college students. Its probably way better than working at McDonalds or Burger King
Yeah, if i were in Japan I would honestly really want this job during school. It has a super positive vibe and u get to sing, dance, and act cute. I think it's great and interesting
I think the reason why they chose this job is, yeah, let's say it's fun but it's probably one of the only jobs that let you have a schedule that suits your school schedules.
My friend's sister had this job in Japan and I think it's a very good job if you don't have time and your schedule isn't working as a high schooler it was easy for her to get this job so that's why they got this job

Lousy parents from low working class. They're the ones to blame for their daughters working these jobs.

$7.90 an hour is horrible, they deserve $15 minimum
Fair enough for Japan who work 100 hours per week or at least I could say 15 hours per day. Beside, it is a maid café not a office workplace.
AMERICAN minimum wage is $7.50
@Ronald Morrison $10
The stuff there is also cheaper, a soda is like 1-2 bucks and it's 3-4 dollars in Canada because we gaint twice
7.90 is rly good pay
they work so hard even if its only one person, thats the definition of dedication right there
Instead of clubbing, people should go to a place like this- not only is it innocent, it’s also tourist friendly.
Innocent? Read my comment about the tsundere maid cafe.

Some people just want to enjoy there life in Japan
Heck in japan you will mostly be lonely because of there toxic work
One question, is the food good?
ikr
MioChan It depends, I actually work at a Butler Cafè and the food is kinda good, but we mainly serve japanese food, not sweets, on a side note in many Maid Cafes I visited the food was really good.
In most of case it's horrible and insanely overpriced.
It varies place to place, I've been to a cat cafe in Asakusa and the food was great, but I also went to a gundam cafe in Akihabara and it was not so good.
Ive never been to one and i probably never will, but i heard its super overpriced. Dunno bout the food quality tho :P

People should just enjoy whatever they like to do and what work they do. Nobody is getting hurt by this and lonely people probably feel like they belong somewhere. More power to this concept, the people working here and the people it attracts that genuinely feel like they have a place where they feel appreciated.
This is so adorable. I feel bad for them honestly tho for their bad reputation

I love how Japanese once wanted to rule tha world now they are just being cute
WWII: USA destroyed Japan with atomic bombs
2020: Japan 'destroyed' USA with their cuteness.
Yes, I know you can't destroy people with cuteness but you get the joke.
Ahaha I got it
*outstanding move*
They now rule the world with their cuteness
well... those nucleair fumes they did breathe in, as that earlier regime fell, may be part of the reason japan is world leader in crazy stuff;)
and us westerners had some soviet infiltration too, leading to all this feminism, transgender, genderfluit and whatnot noncence we have today, instead of the traditional values that actually did build our society. if I look at pre war recordings I always think.. the western world was better than..
I'm sure he wouldn't feel this awkward in Hooters. Americans are not used to cuteness. They're used to sexiness being the desirable trait. Sigh
Agree they are more into sexiness
Kinda like the opposite of what Japanese and Koreans think, they're more into innocent and cute girls.
I mean your not wrong.
Lizeye cloud but it’s true though

They probably don't want to embarrass their customers with the camera so he was there at a quit time.
You cant film or take shots inside Maid Cafes, so the Cafe booked for him to have time to see, film and interview the girls.

But if there's alcohol shouldn't it be a place for pervy guy or something ?
Exactly...but since its for grown men it seem like its for pedophiles
Rosy Diorio It does seem strange but im going to check it out when i go to japan 101%
This video popped up again after 5 years, still can't finish it
