I'm watching this for the second time, and enjoying it again! Painless education 😊. I'm not a farmer, and I live in Canada, but even foreign senior citizens can learn about how the rest of the world works. You help keep our days interesting and we're grateful! Wishing you all the very best in all of your endeavors. Love you all.❤

Totally agree. Politicians do say what you want to hear but do something else. Can't trust them as far as I could throw them. Im not a farm just obsessed with this pdcast, hoofgp & the sheep game 😊 I learn something every time.

Another great podcast … and I never tire of you talking about how the laws need to change regarding dogs on leads. So crazy how it is, and the “thinking” behind it. Hope it changes for you all.

In Germany a "flexitarian" would be someone who will happily eat everything: vegan or veggie, meat or fish, whatever comes their way. Maybe a slight conotation towards "will choose veggie but will also eat meat and fish" but I think it basically is used for "omnivore"😊

Cold lamb sandwiches are delicious. Or even leftover slices battered for next night tea. (Australia)

I'm just surprised that Yousaf didn't complain that there's too many white farmers in Scotland. lol

re farmers involved in future policy ..i wish i agreed with how it supposedly comes across ..i think the reason they might want farmer involvement is because they have little clue how to make oor job work and the sceptic in me might say when it goes to hell well you guys designed it this is what you guys wanted ..hmm whilst i welcome the engagement opportunity , sorry to sound so negative ..40 years workin experience gets me to this point .. great podcast again. keep up the guid work baith o ye , cheers, john

I love all the podcast ans sheep game youtubes you guys and gals do. Cammie about the people who take their dogs on private properties ive been there after dogs pulled all the wool off my two sheep im not a easy person to be by when something hurts my animals from human ignorance. I believe that the off lead but under control is a bunch of bull crap. They mind until they dont. Ok off my box. Have a great next week.

The Icelanders have shoulder smoked lamb, ( Hangikjöt ), which you should try. Might be worth considering doing something similar as a use for our lamb. The lamb price might not always be as good as it is at the moment.

Oh good. Was worried for a moment. The proteins in the milk don't do well for me but I can have a nice goat cheese and oat milk. Haven't tried sheep cheese but willing to give it a go if I can find some. I'll argue with my allergy for ice cream though. Some things are worth the discomfort.

I think I might be a ‘flexidarian’ 😱 I’m allergic to normal cows milk so I drink Jersey milk or sheep milk at home but out and about I have to take oat milk. Sheep’s milk is delicious btw, wish it was more available!

Don't you in the UK have prices fixed of the cost of milk? In the US we had a problem with children not growing because they needed fresh milk so the government has a maximum of what the stores may charge.

Don't quote me but I think live export sheep from Australia are manly Merino bred sheep, not traditional x bred lamb so maybe a different market all together. ?

With export of meat to Muslim countries is making sure it's halal. There are halal processers though and they can have meet certified as halal.

Never apologise about your plight for tougher laws against dogs on farmland, not only is it irresponsible of dog walkers and their dogs potentially harming livestock ,they are putting their own animal in danger and themselves.
Think of the heartache they would suffer if their dog was killed as a result of an attack.

What about a trained 4000 GBP dog? Your own sheepdog? He's a dog off-lead. Make sure that gets written into the law.

    • @FedByFarmersPodcast
      @FedByFarmersPodcast  4 месяца назад +1

Anyone with a sheepdog off the lead will have the land owner’s permission so the law doesn’t apply in the same manner. 👍

I can well understand why you get so fired up it’s your livelihood and it’s so frustrating. The problem could so easily be solved if entitled people just thought about the potential damage they and their dogs could do. You must have seen about the farm in Devon they lost about 45 sheep and lambs, they were either killed or had to be put down.
Why on earth would you go into a field of cows especially if they have calves, their just protecting their young.
