- Michael travels to Scotland to deliver hire machinery to a farmer with a breakdown.
Michael answers a comment on his RUclips which he found a little confusing, to say the least, and he drops into Mainsgill farm shop on his way back home.
Are you a farm shop fan?
Have you been to Mainsgill? Have you also been to Gloagburn Farm shop?

Great video again Michael. I appreciate you helping that guy in debt with you. He will appreciate you i think. Ive got a vote for you. What should I build next. A Stewart grain/silage trailer or a Avro Vulcan. Both cost around £80 excluding paint and glue. Ask your team please mate
Nice to have you in Scotland Michael and I have to fully agree with you on three points. 1, regarding your rant on non payers and exposing the fact that there are businesses that causes these issues, when I was in business I took the same action against them and in all my years only had one that fully turned to a bad debt that was not fully paid. 2, Mainsgill is outstanding and 3, so is Gloagburn (Crawfords Farm). Thanks for the video. You will probably find that the ones who negatively comment about the non payment don't fully understand credit control and the level of credit that has to be offered in business, and in the hire game it can rack up very quickly.
Thank you. I like Scotland
As ever Michael great customer service. Looks like Joe loved the doughnuts you sent him👍 enjoy your time at LAMMA
Thanks 👍 I dropped them in as I was literally going past his gate. Joe is a great guy. But don’t tell him I said that
Hi, great videos usual. The person commented about you pursuing a company for its debts, has obviously never run a company or been involved in the finance department of a company. Over the years I’ve worked for myself for some quite large and very professional companies, and it seems at some stage despite running full credit checks most companies end up with some bad debts that need chasing the way you describe. I’m glad you’ve made some progress.
Bad debts pull good businesses down. You were entirely right to pursue them and its worked. While I'm not unsympathetic to whatever their issues are you cant let them become your problem
You do a good job taking care of people. You deserve to be paid in a timely fashion. I still can't get used to all the driving on the wrong side of the road all the time. {humor} I like the videos, I was able to meet the owner of Euro Auctions kind of by accident when he was here in the USA. He was just pitching in and doing what ever was needed to help his people at the Florida Auction.
Thanks for your comment. Yes the Euroauctions bosses are great and I have a great friendship with them. Nothing is to much trouble
When it comes to bad debts, you need to look at it the context of the sales needed to recover from the loss, especially if operating on tight margins. If operating at a 10% margin you need 9 times the bad debt amount in sales to recover from the loss.
Brillant video your top class just see your channel by chance well done
Never listen to others opinion how you run your finances etc and comments, you are living proof that you run a successful business with helpful reputation , and yes use legal means but as last measure just 100% as you have done
Wow, what a farm shop!!! That’s epic!!
It really is!
your right you have bills and staff to pay
Always going the extra mile will pay dividends! Move on from the bad customers and continue to look after the loyal and new ones!
Nice One Michael I have know idea of the sums of money involved with the machinery hire job probably does knot take long to mount up to a large amount you have a your employees to pay Thanks again
Brilliant you took that man out off tight spot
Michael and Michelle showed their appreciation towards their first gift. Video with the JCB Fastrac thum nail
At the end of the day Michael. When you sign an agreement. You commit yourself to pay the money. I have a ccj on my name. If I was hiring from you I would pay the full term of hire
Great vid, people don't understand bad payers try everything too not pay even when can, should be a name an shame done to them all cause if u go out of business they laugh cause don't then have to pay
You supplied a grade a service you deserved to be paid great video ,ps hire a driver or two put them 24 /7 roster you can only do so much your self
The farm shop had a weekly 30 minute program every week for a fare while, all its business side from jar of honey to a wooly scark.
Good the extra mile for good customer s if you have a bad customer be always wary to help them
Restaurant at the farm shop was excellent when called in last year for Sunday Lunch when passing With regards the comment on the debt, that person is probably one that thinks they can get away with with not paying for a service provided, as I also have a few of those and I will not let them get away with it, it’s your money and if you’re been fair your entitled to it😡
Business you have do it because bad news travels fast good news travels slowly well done
A friend has been caught for a fair sum of money and the customer is not paying up .
So it does happen and some are using others as a cheap line of credit 😮
Has he perused it
@@GCSMachinery it's for 40 ton of barley from last march, it's going in the hands of a debt collector
Statuary demand is good and free to issue
@@GCSMachineryDemand has been issued and a 1 pence payment been made 😮
Glad you got some of that debt paid Michael. Typically how long would you leave it before a winding up order is served and how many £'s before you go down that route, assuming you've tried all other options. I'm at 4 months and £10k on my man I'm chasing. Thanks
Hello. 5 months 15k. The problem was kept promising and then nothing and wouldn’t answer phones
@@GCSMachinery Yep, similar situation here. Keeps promising, then every time I remind him it's like he's only just been made aware of it.
Nice grab that is
You can only wait so long for your money. You were right to chase your invoice.
Do you have a TM320s on the hire fleet and a toe tip bucket for it?
Just a quick question ,Now the fella has paid you some money and providing he pays you the other bit ,Would you deal with the fella again and put it behind you ,Don't think you was wrong trying collecting what your owed sounds like you tried to work with the fella ,Been to Mainsgill ,very impressive
Nice to hear you have been paid from your bad payer. Communication helps you need the ££ to pay your bills like everyone else.
I to don't understand what's wrong with chasing owed money, we always do when it's overdue just normal business practice. We would also put unpaid accounts on stop once their credit limit is met or they fail to make a due payment. Tight credit control we find to be esential.
Dept comment was out of order, a good company will to help the customer before legal action, well done Michael.
Which comment was out of order??
I had helped the company for many months but when they stop talking and ignore you what do you suggest??
@@GCSMachinery well done, you in buisness to be helpfull not see your customers as cash cows, you did the right thing the right way, well done.
@@GCSMachinery the one about it was your fault for letting them get into debt, its called working with the customer, your did the right thing.
Serious trip just to hire a telehandler
I think the guy on Facebook might be getting pressure to pay their own account somewhere . You always try to think the best of people that they will pay but time sometimes gets away on you
You will always get key board warriors looking to put a reverse spin on comments, ignor these type of idiots. You have no reason to explain your self.
Ive Had It. and I Don’t Like It I Work Too Hard
I Find The Small Man Doesn’t Do It But Bigger Firms , Will Nail You.
Whoever made the comment about you being in the wrong obviously has never been self employed and waiting for money sitting out that you need to survive.
Ps i need a 1000l diesel tank 😊
Don't touch the camera whilst driving
Either the customer had a secret bad gambling problem I'm speaking from experience I don't want another finance car if I can't afford it I don't have it I work hard I have money in the bank now because I had a online gambling problem I have a friend who is also from a farming family and he was gambling online etoro an all that shit.
If you buy something you pay for it
