I think Far Cry 5's development is the result of someone's wish on a monkey's paw. Despite all the progress the series made over Far Cry 4, it's still the same old boring mess of an open world game that it has always been.

The worst part of any Far Cry game is that they keep making loot and switch weapon the same button. There is nothing worse than being in the middle of combat and realizing you just switched your shotgun with a shitty handgun and now you can't find the shotgun.
Thankfully you automatically pick up ammo from dead bodies in Far Cry 6

My problem with the game is that every time I went to fish, drive down the road 50 feet, or buy things in the "safe area", a freaking plane would start shooting at me. WHY DO THEY HAVE SO MANY PLANES!?!?!? It was so annoying.
iT REALLY BOTHERED ME WHEN i WENT TO FISH OR HUNT AND COULD NOT ENJOY IT WITHOUT A PLANE THERE TO TAKE ME OUT.
I bought a rpg early lol

just call in Nick Rye, boom mark the plane and you never have to look at it again lmao. You literally just mark it once, and it doesn't even attack you again usually.

Deputy isn’t mute, when you catch fish they mumble and say stuff like “nice”.
The Deputy probably does talk, just not much and Ubisoft just didn't give the character much to actually say out loud. I like it because it lets me have my own responses.
Yeah they are peaceful compared to the times when you and ur friend wreak havoc with 2 choppers😆
I’m mute and my brother showed me the game just because of this, it’s just so wholesome how people treat the deputy if he was
There is nothing more adorable than my female character's "Ha-HA!" Of triumph when she catches a fish. I wish she would do that clip too whenever I shoot someone in the head.

This game is obviously very messy, but... I can’t help but love it. The gunplay is so fun, a decent chunk of the side content is a lot of fun, and the soundtrack is good enough for twenty sins to be taken off.
Only because they made the protagonist mute, they should pay for it by shoving themselves twenty sins

He's been saying this for years and people still get angry at him whenever he posts a video, just look at the dislike ratio on his RDR2 video.
@@v0rtexbeater But just like Cinemasins, he doesn't frame it as satire. The "it's a satire, bro!" is just an excuse to get out of criticisms against his criticisms.
9:34 Also, the silent protagonist choice takes away a potentially awesome one liner possibility of telling John to "Say yes to the bullet."
Weren't we all saying it, though?
The person in the church recording the video, in the beginning was released by Joseph as a warning of what will happen if you cross him. They were making an example of that guy.
Looking at it, Joseph didn't kill him, he just put out his eyes with his thumbs.
That's exactly what killing is
What's the point in going above and beyond to cut that area off from contacting the rest of the world if you're going to deliberately release footage that paints you in the worst possible light? The whole point of cutting phones, internet and jamming radio is to prevent anyone inside from calling for help. Even Pagan Min had a propaganda mill spinning news non-stop to make him look good and tell everyone outside the borders that everything was going great in Kyrat.

The jacob hallucinations were actually genius. Because after doing them like 4x you dont even hesitate killing what clearly looks like Eli just out of habit. Only afterwards do you realize its been that exact bunker and not some random assets the whole time because before you were rushing through it. Also I think the far cry universe split into 2 at that game. 1 ending leading to new dawn and the other being the one every other far cry leads to
No they weren't. I knew what he was doing from the very beginning, and if you just don't you fail and can never progress through the game. Now if there was a hidden option to refuse to shoot Eli for real the last time, then it would be pretty good, because then it would be actual programming, because plenty if people would still do it, and it would make you think about how in games you sometimes blindly follow your objective without thinking about the ramifications.

1. The GPS in the helicopter doesn't move with the helicopter.
2. The character doesn't have a shadow, but the cracks on windshields do.
I think that the main issue with this game is that it doesn’t get you invested in the fight, it never builds up any personal relations with any character to motivate you to fight, you are basically just there to kill cultists and once in a while you run into some familiar faces but you never feel any attachment to them. You are just a nameless, emotionless character without a voice, which works fine for Half-Life but not for Farcry.
In Farcry 3 you play as Jason who’s desperate to save his friends and family and gradually over time he grows more confident and eventually starts to enjoy killing but in Farcry 5 it doesn’t matter where in the game you start playing, your character is the same from beginning to end.
A more perfect summary couldn't exist
@@magician121089 thank you
Thank you. By the end of the game I'd become more attached to my 2 random NPCs than any named character given a cutscene because they felt forced and unimmersive while my adventures with the 2 Erics (both helpers named Eric) were wayyyy more fun.
The thing that really fucked me off is that I realised they were conditioning me to kill Eli waaaaay before the final run and gun, so I was careful. I went around that corner, saw Eli, saw the green crosshairs that meant ally, and I held fire expecting a different resolution. Perhaps the red haze to fade away and for Eli to be stood before me trying to shout me down while around me were the bodies of other Whitetail members I must have killed to get to him. Perhaps, just perhaps, the conditioning failed and the Dep was able, through the players actions, to avoid succumbing to it.
Nah, no choices in this game that have any impact whatsoever. The sequence just resets so you have to do it again. Tried it several times just to make sure.
If you think about it, at that stage, you're not actually in a kill-house doing practice, you're actually in the Whitetails base, and that actually is Eli standing in front of you, so how the fuck did Jacob just wrench you back out of it to try again when you don't pull the trigger?
That Eli problem is rife throughout the entire game. If you think back, no choice you make affects the story one way or the other. All endings result in the same catastrophe, and every good deed, every person you saved, every act you make is just railroaded onto the story tracks, and it carries on with you as a powerless passenger.
Ubisoft need to hire writers, ideally really good ones but at this stage I'd just settle for competent. Perhaps hire out the guys who made Dishonored, or beg them for tips.
It's the result of Far Cry's recurring "shooty player bad" narrative they keep hamfistedly shoving into every game after 3. They'll never let you feel like you're actually a hero without harshly subverting it. Meanwhile, you're forced to listen to monologues from characters that most of us would rather shoot than listen to.
10:14 US fire code stats that all Doors leading to the exterior and exterior doors must open outword on all buildings design to hold more that 25 people.
Thank you for the new information
That is in almost all countries.
Google Cocoanut grove fire. It is a perfect example of why the code is created and strictly enforced.
In the result of panic such as a fire, the doorways are funnels that can easily be blocked. Having doorways open inward will cause a massive blockade and as the person tries to open the door, it's impossible because everyone is pushing out, this results in a mountain of crushed humans that blocks the way and ensures the death of anyone trying to escape. The end result is a melted heap of humans with their stored fats acting as fuel to the fire. Having it open outward stops this from happening.

I was thinking just that
Faith is actually just a tag line for who Jospeh chooses for the role. Not related to them really. If you do the side missions in detail like the haunted hotel outpost liberation, there are readable notes saying that Faith was actually as tall as jospeph, but now is a shorter blonde woman. This implies that 'Faith' keeps changing according to Joseph's wish. I found other clues in pepper stash places that imply that many women were called Faith at certain points. He just replaces the women

@Demiclea They/them is also used when the gender of the person is unknown.
@Demiclea whoops lol, sorry I've seen people actually mean what you said before 😅
I think the point with "not having to worry THAT much about assuming someone's gender" was about the NPCs using 'they' on someone who appears to be female instead of just 'she' so as to not assume the deputy's gender. (Not that that was the actual reason, they just didn't wanna record twice.)

Simple logic would kill this sin count to under 20
Yes
The reason why they don’t kill the deputy is because Joseph wants the deputy apart of his family so he spares the deputy
I think it’s important to realize that the cult weren’t as openly violent until the police tried to arrest Joseph. So, I’m sure people would have gotten the military involved if they had as much concrete evidence of the cult’s wrongdoings as they did after the arrest attempt. They didn’t realize that stuff had gotten real until it was too late.

With Faith, I'm under the assumption that the fight was in the Deputy's mind and the end is when the Deputy gets a lucky shot on her. Yeah, Ubisoft really wants to make Far Cry a science fantasy game, that's the only explanation for 90% of this game.
Cody Martin her whole thing was drugs so every major encounter and fight was a drug trip basically.
Literally everything was from the Deputy's perspective so if it looked like magic it's not reliable. It's an unreliable narrator trope, which comes with its own flaws. However that's not what the video is criticising. I'd have more respect for this video if it pointed out how it is lazy to use the unreliable narrator trope rather than getting annoyed at it being "magic" when we clearly see that the drug causes mass delusions.
getting harmed in the faith fight is because of drug overdose (bliss) however beating faith 'frees' you from the bliss
I wanted to make the same comment before I saw this. Seriously, most people don't understand Far Cry 5. Also, people should learn that having RUclips channels that criticizes other work doesn't make them more intelligent than other players, the only thing I think is wrong with this game is that they can just kidnap you anytime they want.
The greatest sin will always be how no one notices an entire helicopter doesn't come back without 5 people in it.
After the Nuke ending, I theorize the real reason the authorities never swooped into Hope Country was because law and order was starting to break down in most of rural America with constant news updates about rising tensions around the world. I also imagine that several conflicts were breaking out between local, state and Federal authorities over what appeared to be the end of the world before the Nukes arrived. This could be the reason the missing Marshal never draws attention from his superiors.
Fallout had a similar situation with Roger Maxson. Old boy went rogue and the government didn't care because they knew the nukes were coming.
Nope the nukes came from Kyrat, Pagan Min told Ajay he has nukes pointing directly at Montana in the end of his DLC in Far Cry 6
So they were either at war with Nepal orrrrrrrr Ajay was threatening to nuke America with the weapons he got from Pagan Min for some reason hence Joseph preparing for the collapse
@@seanmacguire. Or, maybe the devs were just trolling? Ajay would never launch those Kyrati nukes, even if he wanted to, they wouldn’t be able to reach North America and that DLC came out years after FC5. No way the devs thought this far in advance! Also, the Kyrati nukes make no sense: Pagan could afford a private army, a gold statue and a palace or two by plundering Kyrat’s wealth but not Nuclear Missiles! @The Law They weren't really supposed to be likable at the start, hence the character arc. Just seems kind of weird to omit him when he's actually a interesting, well written character.
+Jay Doubleyou
I chalk it up to Jason Brody being super high on drugs. The way he can slaughter endless armies of pirates at one moment, and yet end with "OMG I killed someone, oh no!" seems like he's just disconnected with reality. Maybe he was hallucinating about playing laser tag while killing people. Or maybe he was hallucinating himself as Rex Power Colt...
Well that's just standard shooter protag syndrome, they're always better at killing then everyone else in the game regardless of background because they are controlled by the player.
Sovereign Jason was meh I think we played far cry 3 for vaas
His character sucked ass, American corny ass dude bro suddenly becomes a badd ass and slaughters his way through. Those godless brown people in need of a white savior...
Some of these are legitimate but a lot of these sins are just being pulled out of his butt
Don't know about y'all but far cry 5 is the first one that made me want to actually go to the place where it was taking place i.e Montana 😂
I also wanted to go to Montana because of far cry 5
There's no healing animations that what's wrong!!

You should just join them because there right
Joseph wants to know your location
Oh wait he already does
One of the things that irritated me about FAR CRY is that they have never attempted to give the RPM indicator in cars any functions. Cars are all manual but your hands never move from the steering wheel.
No attention to details.
Yeah but you get to run over cultists and do drive by's so I dont mind
The story wasn't good, but the gameplay is fantastic for some mindless fun while you listen to podcasts and videos and shit.
i enjoyed the story
@@ferofox-mp6mc me too
The concept is good, the conception isn't, not even for a fantasy setting. Too many holes. I agree with the game play, though I wish Rook wasn't made of crystal and the foes made of concrete...
i used it as muck around while i semi watched old school shows i've watched to death, this time it was Becker
I'm gonna take a guess that you missed the whole underlying story?
I can't wait for dartigan to do Detroit: Become Human next lol
KuroiYuki88 I know right that game looks so good
We want Detroit become human please
Exactly. I've already spotted some sins myself hehehe
Tbh i want to see Bayonetta 2 but Detroit become human just came out at this exact moment so lol XD
+KuroiYuki88
Me neither.
The sins about the cult being hypocritical were... strange to me. Like yes? That's the point? Lots of real world cults and religions are extremely hypocritical and often don't follow their own teachings, or pick and choose certain teachings while ignoring others. It's a realistic inclusion to push how deranged they are - that they put themselves on a high horse despite being just as human as the rest of us.
11:42 exactly what I said! “They are trying not to inflict harm on you!” “Why they shoot at me then?!”
I loved Far Cry 5 and it was my favorite FC by far, this video is hilarious though.
Also damn roasting my baby Faith
I like far cry but faith killed my boy pin man Larry

Faith was annoying as fuck imo
@@raoul3016 but she was hot 🔥
The only thing wrong with FC5 is that it's too short, I watched this video with an open mind but most of it is him just looking for things to whine about for 20 minutes.
howsjames1 that’s my main gripe (along with the ending) I blew past to of Faith resistance meters without er catching me in between
Dude that's the point of gamesins. It's meant to be over the top with a little bit of truth on top. Look at moviesins it is exactly the same.
Robert No, the point is, is to show what the game/movie did wrong not whine and gripe over the games tiniest details for twenty minutes. He sounds like a Doom Eternal Journalist.
This was my first farcry and to be honest I had fun playing it. Yes I seen the issues but I did enjoy the freedom to progress your own way. For the record I did play 3 after and it’s 10x better!
They could’ve fixed the useless government issue by having Dutch explain at the beginning in his bunker that the States were all rebelling against DC, militiamen were slaughtering military convoys and the Air Force was carpet bombing cities. Ww3 and the Second American Civil War was breaking out outside and that’s why the cultists listened to Joseph!
You missed one at the beginning since Joseph wasn't strapped in he would of been thrown from the helicopter when it spins out of control.
there were 2... things? story moments? that I really, really liked in this game
1. Jacob's brainwashing. I was getting sick and tired of running through these nightmares but then that last time where it ends up being Eli behind the corner... honestly the game managed to condition me, it worked I guess.
2. Faith's last moments. When she comes out and says that Joseph abused her and made her do all that. She didn't want to be a part of this. Also when she tries to get closer to Rook, tries to hold out her hand, but he/she backs away from her in fear. I honestly felt kinda bad haha. I might have been hoping a bit too much for a super cliché-romance ending...
Vincent Mauron yea they couldve done a cliche ending but this is the first far cry game where you can pick your gender so it wouldnt really work if you were a female
hoot so you’re saying that then being a lesbian wouldn’t work? Say a lot about you.
[Jackies Squirrel] Why are you getting triggered?! Literally it’s true, in lore the deputy/rook is a male.
@@hoot3780 what if The female deputy is lesbian
I just wish the protagonist can talk, there was natural healing, and that the takedowns would be with a knife.
i wouldn't mind if they were better
I mean technically there is auto healing, it just isn’t fast at all
And the weapons were like in Far Cry 4
Like every previous FC game?

Deputy gets saved and wakes up in the island bunker: "Fine, ill help you with your island, but then i need you on that radio calling for help. This county isnt that big, get me a rifle, some ammo, and a few med kits. Im going to the next county over to call in the fucking army."
Eli actually says "Em'"during the initial cutscene with him (Doesn't say "Him")
Kranos yeah he used gender neutral pronouns
We say 'em, or 'im. Not him. We dont use the h on the beginning of words much. We DONT sound fucking southern though.
@@Ateezwooyoung no. Some people talk that way. It's just an abbreviation.
@@Ateezwooyoung no that’s just how some people talk like how I say “Em” instead of them and “Im” instead of him
My main issue with this game is that it blue balls you with giving the impression that you have choices and consequences. When it came to rescuing the deputies, it was implied or hinted that you can choose to support the upset deputy and fight what seemed a hopeless and suicidal vengeance against their captors or walk away and let them die fighting alone. If the game had allowed for that then there would be weight to the decision and consequence of either choice. Fight overwhelming odds by siding with them or less odds by leaving them to their desire for revenge.
The game doesn't do that, ofcourse.
Same with saving the sheriff, the game tries to raise the tension by implying that he may die if you're too slow but ofcourse they remove any consequence because Disney happy endings. By making it impossible for him to die or scripting him to live they completely shot that instance of tension. They fucked that up.
When it came to Faith's scenes it implied that you can leave the Marshall with her, but you can't do that all. You have to save him, no other choice which completely erodes the false impression of choice and different paths. What would've happened? We'll never know because Ubisoft didn't create a good story design.
For Faith, I wanted to save her because she's a victim in her own right but no, the game doesn't give you a choice in the matter. It would've been great to see what the consequences would've been if we saved her. Imagine taking her in to the jail, only to upset alot of the characters there. Perhaps the sheriff himself would've allowed the move and merely jailed her but everyone else would be furious given her history. Losing allies and a safe zone would've been a sensical consequence, but NOPE. Ubisoft was too lazy to do anything more than a bad railed and linear story.
There are probably other similar instances but I can't recall.
I didn't one any member of the seed family to die.
Being forced to kill Faith but only arresting Joseph when you chose to resist was complete bullshit, defying both reason and emotion, adding a twist for the sake of adding a twist.
Keeping the protagonists mute is very often in games you know that...
Well don't think this game has got a very messy plot.... The reason is that we are used to get a good ending only in most of the games so far, but this game did a different job in making the game totally different(considering all the endings)
FC5 was my first far Cry game I ever played, it was a bit complex at first but I really like it now, especially aerial combat and the planes! Is there other far cry games with planes?
wait... in the game we can get planes, helicopters right? why can't we just fly away?
Because we need to save the country 🤣 and the cult has helicopters so they would be able to hit you anyway, one way or another.
Yeah, get a speedier plane and fly out get backup, bingo bango U.S. Army in here kicking ass.
I need to try that
I really tried to like this game, I really did, but the end product is just plain shit. So, to answer your question and mine as well, we can't fly away because this game makes as much sense as Lost (the horrendous TV series).
(Avegers music)
Disagree with most things, i love this game but i get some points
5:25 - “This is how you make a 10h game into a 20h game, forcing the player to...”
wtf man I was afraid to get resistance points because i enjoyed the ai, the bugs, the map so much, i didnt want to end the story lol xddd
This game is FUN!
I miss the funny bugs that were removed lol :( why ubisoft
You can tell this guy couldn't find much real bad things about the game and instead just nitpicked random things out to milk it for a video.
I don't care how high your drugs make you, they cannot give you magical powers!
Ignoring pain isn't a magical power?
It's something one could also accomplish through mental and physical training, but pulling someone who is surrounded by your enemies away from them into an alternate reality created in your drug hallucination is most certainly some kind of sorcery.
You're a wizard. Faith.
rcblazer I just called that "bullshit".
Zyx Luz "Yer a junkie, Harry!"
I only agreed with some of these. But I loved the game so funny and fun 😀
The one where John was tattooing, I've actually thought about that one in my game before.
While he does make some good points, most of what he says can be debunked by putting it back in context or simply listening better. For example, when Eli refers to the player, he says ‘Em as in them, which is a gender neutral term. Also, the so-called “grinding “ is made so much more enjoyable by the fact that the missions in this game are so diverse and fun, they never get old. If you want to learn what real grinding feels like, play Destiny 2. I feel like the actual count should be around 54
@Juu Tuub tell me one. I’m not saying it’s perfect, but it’s a lot better than he makes it sound
@Juu Tuub the kidnappings can be avoided. I know because I’ve done it. No one can enter or leave the valley because the peggies have blocked the roads, meaning if anyone wanted to leave, they would need to hike through miles of trees without roads to guide them
@Juu Tuub ok I’m gonna stop trying to debunk this. If you want to hate this game that’s fine but you don’t need to be such a moody bastard about it
@Juu Tuub I avoided the kidnappings by grabbing a friend and blowing up every car that we saw. It was fun. Far cry 5 is a fun game. Looking for plot holes in a game that is just supposed to be fun takes all the fun out of it. But if you want to hate the game because it isn’t good enough for you go ahead.
@Juu Tuub I come here because I like to listen to the bullshit people spew about games they either haven’t played to the end, or have played, but chose to ignore. Nothing pisses me off more than people lying about good games being worse than they are. More than half the stuff this guy whines about could have been resolved by simply paying attention to the story. These “sin” channels are the RUclips equivalent of clickbait journalism.
The real question is how Joseph Seed keeps his glasses on during a helicopter crash and hanging upside down
Nice question 🤣
Wow, as usual over half of these weren’t sins at all. Why I keep watching these videos is beyond me

also love how people get triggered over facts
+1 extra sin for that **ding**
5:25 honestly I really liked this approach. It made the game feel less linear while also making every small thing matter. I do wish there was a few more checkpoints on each one's meter to help flesh out the character more but I still enjoyed it
