    I rarely comment on youtube videos but I wanted to say you are a true inspiration, Brian. Got back into lifting this year after more than 4 years of absolutely no exercise and lots of weight gain and discovered you within a couple weeks of starting again. When I find myself wanting to make excuses I think about your struggles with vomiting and how you still perform at an insane level with all that going on, and I know I have no excuse at all. Suffer Beauti(ful)ly has become one of my two main mantras when the weight gets heavy and I get tired.
    Can't wait to see what's in store for you and your gym in 2019! Hope you're able to finally figure out what the deal is with the throwing up....Happy New Year!

    This was a Kickass video. I had a loved one pass away on christmas last night and I'm still gonna go hit my bench workout 100% today before mourning, love you Brian thanks for being such a massive positive for everyone out there. Making the decision to get a little bit better, every single day.

    Brian, I hope your throwing up stuff gets sorted out. I know it's been an issue for a long time and it stinks watching you "suffer" (it's in quotes because you're still demolishing weights). These videos are just motivating and prove that even if you're going through some crap, you have to have perseverance and push through. Thank you for everything and Merry Christmas to you, the family, and the gym family.

    Thank you Brian for the great content. It's very encouraging to see you work this hard bro, although you have lots of stuff going on with your body. I've been following your channel for the last 2 years, and it really got me hooked to Strongman. I just finished my second Strongman comp, and I'm doing my next one in March. Although I haven't bought a program from you yet, I've followed your programing from the content you share. Most effective for me is your giant set format, conditioning, and conjugate programming. I love it. Thanks again

    Name ideas for the next program: I dunno, but leave out 4s and horses. Get those two confused all the time. It's "the one with build and back-off sets" or "the one where you lead with a variation." 🤣

    Merry Christmas Brian hope you and the crew have a great new year. I know you have had just about every test performed. I hope you find a solution even if you don't get a clear answer to what causes it. My best friend had a ton of problems with everything coming out both ends back in the late 90s when we were in grad school. He attributed it to either all the shots he was given before Desert Storm or the exposure to a fair amount of shit while over there. Never got a clear answer did some different types of cleanses and then just started eating cleaner and slowly improved. It wasn't over night maybe 4-5 years but he doesn't get sick anymore.

    Yo Brian, quick question about conditioning intensity... I do your linear periodization program 4x week, and 10 min intense EMOM cardio after every session. I literally feel like I'm about to die halfway through every cardio session (I get through it though). Do you think this intensity is sustainable, or should i bump it down a bit?

    • @alexseed6839
      @alexseed6839 5 лет назад

      Thats pretty much exactly what he recommends, id say watch your recovery, eat a lot and sleep and lot, and keep motivated brother

    • @jimmerd
      @jimmerd 5 лет назад

      Johan Reineholm i reckon if you’re still getting through it, there’s no need to bump it back

    • @joshjohnston7388
      @joshjohnston7388 5 лет назад

      I am not Brian and I would listen to him over me. The way I understand it, if you are questioning your life choices halfway through your conditioning session (to quote the man himself) then you are on the right track. I see him do emom-style conditioning all the time, so I bet he's a fan. As far as sustainability, I'll add my own bit. The effects of conditioning on the pulmo-cardiac system are done within minutes of stopping. As soon as your breathing and pulse return to normal, you are "recovered." So no worries on that front. The only glitch there would be if you are doing things with your musculature that are "novel" movement patterns for you. Say, if you NEVER do sled drags and use them in a conditioning session, or perform them at a weight that's significantly heavier than usual, that's gonna hit your recovery resources a little harder, and may (may) somewhat limit your strength progression as measured in the big lifts. Other than that, meh. I mean "everything costs something," so if you're heavily prioritizing conditioning, that's gonna eat into your strength gains somewhat, but probably not completely. It's gonna be a value assessment that only you can determine. Nothing wrong with prioritizing conditioning relative to strength however you like, as long as you are ok with the tradeoff. If I gotta put 100 pounds on my bench in a year or the mob kills my family, I'm probably not going to be doing much conditioning, for example.

    • @BrianAlsruheOfficial
      @BrianAlsruheOfficial  5 лет назад +1

      I’d say that sounds just about exactly how it should be brother. If you bump it back you’ll be sorry. When it’s time to bump it back you will know. Until then drive on and focus on your recovery
