Wow a breath of fresh air loved your video essay! You have your own unique sense of vibe to you that I get which is refreshing and awesome:) kinda reminds me of one of my favourite Australian anime creator Melonteee, she talks about One Piece but does it and tackles it in such a unique an refreshing way about it, than most other creators do that i have seen been in the OP community alot longer than her. She really made me like and appreciate Video Essay.. Watching your video made me love it even more!! I Appreciate your introspective view on Look Back and thank you for giving me food for thoughts in my own life.. Life's not static whether it's people, dreams or circumstances but despite all of that you should always move forward. Kinda ironic when Fujino is in the hallway and starts regretting things from the past she finally gets the courage to walk in her room and when she for the last time "Look Back" she sees the jacket she signed to kyomoto as a child, the encounter that sparked a new flame in her to pick the pencil up again when she was little, as she looking back at the wrtiten jacket saying her full name "Ayume Fujino" "Ayu" meaning to step or move forward and "Me" meaning Dream in kanji form. Basically saying "Move forward on the dream Fujino" and immediately after we get a shot of a beautiful scene as she's walking forward through the snow with conviction. Absolutely loved that part!! Another thing you said that made me think was at 4:36 "Life is never actually a fair playfield but it isn't like life is against you either it just is for better or worse" that quote really reminded me of a show I just finished called "Sonney Boy" it's an anime that consist of 12 episodes with a beautiful art-style which touches alot of themes on life, beliefs and identity. The writing is unorthodox and each episode gives the audience a thought-provoking storyline compared to typical shows it's more of a "show don't tell" kinda anime takes a few rewatch to understand the subtle messages and the overall plot of the show. Maybe that could be one of your future video ideas one day hehe. Sorry for the long ass yap comment lol it tends to happen when i get invested in something 😅 Either way Loved your first video absolutely fantastic!! cant wait for what's in store here next. Hope you had a great year and an even greater next year! ❤️🙏🏼
Thanks so much for your comment, I'm really glad you enjoyed the essay! You touched on an interesting point about her name- that would have been a great detail to incorporate, hehe. I may have to look into Sonny Boy, and add it to my backlog 🤔. Also, thanks for suggesting Melonteee! Have a great Xmas and New Year as well! c:
I read this manga a few months back but it didn’t touch me as much as this video did. I kind of overlooked the story and read it to say I have. Now I want to go back and reread it after your review thank you😝 (also I’m second year in art school and I do have those questions all of the time)
@katnaz_ hehe, well I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I probably got too analytical lol. I feel like most artists tend to go through similar experiences. GL with your studies c:
i sound negative asf the video is good. My personal gripe lies with the way you hang on your words at times comes off as putting on a "reading voice" rather than talking. Keep doing wat u do tho!!
Not gonna lie man, I'd rather prefer her to talk like master oogway rather than a highly caffeinated xqc, you ok as you are girl, your way of talking actually helped me calm down after all the chaos in my day
I disagree. It's not really slower in average than most chill video essayists (a mood I vastly prefer). I'd say that varying the speed a bit would be fun, for dramatic effect where appropriate.
@@studyaccount4260 thats cool man i personally think that having an already monotone reading voice mixed with a slow pace of speaking makes it hard to listen since it comes across as the person making the video being bored. Again im not saying she NEEDS to but it WOULD be nice
It was a very well put video didn't realise I'm watching someone's first ever video, RUclips did a good job bringing this to me
Thank you for the kind words, I'm a bit surprised it reached people at all tbh lol

writing and editing aren't bad but you should talk a little faster

@exomoneylabel I totally understand. I tend to speak slower in general I think for clarity lol. Thanks, will try to improve on it 👍
