Hello everyone! All of your comments mean a lot to me! My goal here was to share my artistic journey, but also to motivate aspiring artists. Pursuing art can be hard sometimes, so I'm so glad you find the video useful and inspiring 😆✨
@@АлексейРезник-е7дnot me not being a beginner artist anymore (more of intermediate) and falling victim to drawing short quick lines when I sketch lol 😂
I think it's pretty normal as a beginner artist to compare yourself to others. You did it too when you didn't feel that talented at the beginning. But there are two outcomes: either it depresses you, or it motivates you. And it is important to turn that admiration for others into devotion for yourself. So, in conclusion: compare yourself to others, but don't try being them.
The fact you won this price with Ibis Paint make me so hopeful, usually those "success stories" are always coming from artist with graphic tablet and pricey programs. When I looked through ur instagram I was in awe at the panels you illustrated, in 4 years you went to a great artist to an actual professional in the field. It's so impressive and inspiring !!
As someone who had very strict parents ,the fact that your parents wanted you to have at least 1 hour of creative work each day is such a good thing . Mine would just get mad at me if i was not studying .
I genuinely love self taught artists who decided to make their own mangas/comic. The thought of making one page comic panel fields me with dread because I consider myself a perfectionist and I take a lot of time to make one piece of drawing. I couldn't imagine doing it for several pages. So videos like this is fascinating for me and I love hearing people's perspective on how they achieve it.
Yeah i wonder if she doing it for months? Or just a week, i mean i also spent so much time in one drawing, it's make me think "can i do manga? But there's so much panels, how much time i Will spent"
@@Naixthy Honestly being a comic/manga artist is a bit easier now compared in past because of the leap in technological advancement. I recon it's easier to follow comic/Visual novel work structure than a manga one. Mangakas always go all out and often work most of their life some having 10 and sometimes even 12 hours schedule specially if they release by weekly and this is with assistant and editors. I like watching vids where Mangakas do their work and often times I cringe at how miserable it looks albeit the mangakas make it look easy af. I think it really depends on how much you want to make you story into visual form while also being determined and hardy enough to see it through.
This video hit very close to home because my story is very similar to yours. I also started drawing from a very young age, had a huge gap of not drawing consistently and started up again before 4 years, I got obsessed with drawing and improving, and I’ve also started posting my art earlier this year! This video helped motivate me so much, thank you!
Lol me too, however ive spent my whole life drawing, and when I saw people just casually pick it up again after years of not drawing and easily improving, it made me think i wasted so many years, even now I think Im just fairly decent
You are actually such a help😭. Sometimes it feels like u lose passion when u compare to others at your age and with the high school stress. I HOPE U WILL BE FAMOUS FOR YOUR MANGAS^^
HEY french fellow !! You have no idea how fast was your progression pace. Usually it takes 10yrs to improve enough to have pro manga lvl, but between 2021 and 2024 you broke the 4th wall of reality and your art totally transformed. That's very impressive, knowing you were having work/school parrallel life. This is the fruit of your hard work ;) your story is so inspirating to reach his aims ! I try to become a light novel author or manga scenarist bc I didn't had the force to improve my drawings... Well I'm also trying all competitions I can and learn a lot from it. If you produce a manga in france or japan, I'll support you by buying :) and if you need some manga scenarists one day, don't hesitate to look at the ln authors community! have a nice mangaka journey!
Agreed! My mouth was on the floor! She's such a hard worker with astronomical talent! Unfortunately my undiagnosed bipolar has thrown a spanner in the works of my artwork...
girl i bought the same g pen set and participated in the same sma competition with the same ibis paint for the first time in hopes of getting a prize to buy the same ipad and program, u literally lived my dream
Wow, dude, you truly are an inspiration. And I don’t just mean your success in winning an art competition (which, truly, so happy for you that is amazing), but also just your own person success and growth. Like, your mindset going through all of that is sooooo relatable, and it’s honestly comforting, knowing it’s a normal thing that I don’t need to stress over. And the point you’re at now is so inspiring and just makes me feel good. Like, makes me feel better about drawing and the hope that I will get to a point where I am one day happy with what I draw
Explaining your art journey to making manga was really amazing, and towards the end of your video was very relatable and I'm sure hit many other artists about feeling pressured about making the best illustration possible based on what social media expects, but it's as you mentioned you make art based on what you now like without basing it on people's expectations or gaining as much likes as possible, and that really stuck with me since I'm currently on the same boat, you are amazing and I hope your journey never ends : )
I also want to create manga and you inspire me so much. I am specifically fascinated by your shading techniques like the way you use screentones and hatching is really eye-catching. Do you have any tips or suggestions about how to learn shading like you ? I'm really bad at shading manga pages 😭
I watched the previous video and to be completely honest I thought that you were just lucky to win those manga competitions. But after watching this video I’ve realized how much things go on behind the scene that we don’t get to see. Thank you for this video and congratulations!
4:16 HOUSEKI NO KUNI SPOTTED!! I must say this video has inspired me to just start on my projects. It's been really inspirational. I hope you keep going on this art journey!
holy moly. you cooked with your art progress. In the same way I tried starting to do drawing for a couple months during 2020 but gave up. You made insane progress within a year. Inspiring stuff and congrats on the grind. The detail of your inking is craaazyyy.
Hey Plushlisa, you are an absolute inspiration for me who is also trying to become a professional mangaka. In my opinion I work really hard and am sad when I don't get the results I want but seeing how you went on even through setback and doubt encourages me alot. thank you so much
Watching this video has really motivated me to practice drawing more often. Hearing how you sometimes drew from day to night several days made me so impressed and envious of your passion to draw and motivate yourself to give it your all. I used to barely ever draw then question why I was never getting anywhere with my art, but that’s because for a year I would maybe draw 1 or 2 drawings a week then take a 3 week long break from drawing because my dissatisfaction towards my drawing. I now see how I was getting nowhere but expecting to magically improve over time without doing the hard work to get there. I am trying my best to motivate myself to draw at least 3-5 times a week.
I remember reading your manga that won the SMA contest because i wanted to participate as well. It was so good, i knew i had no chance and needed to get much better. But seeing the journey of the winner can inspire people. Thank you for the video and for your art. I wish you the best for the future!!!
Wow, you have come so far! I'm impressed by how hardworking you are and how you kept drawing consistently and improving. I've recently started my own journey as an artist, so something like this is really inspiring
reiugeir This is so inspiriational to me. Something I often struggle with is taking for granted my current skill and getting in the mindset of "Oh, I'm pretty decent at art" and pull it into an excuse to lay off learning new skills and diving into struggles with the intent of getting better. Seeing artists like yourself working so hard just because you simply have a goal and want to get better inspire me to do the same. Looking forward to seeing your future growth as well!!!! 😸

Whenever I see a drawing that is really well made that is up to my standards I straight up think I don't even know how to draw 💀. But I think the fact that I am amble to copy my favorite artists for practice is a sign that I'm not a lost cause.
I just read your two manga on SMA and they are incredible ! Love the cute story of you have my heart and the main character is so loveable with her silly attitude, i love it ! And for my friend Toma, the work you’ve put in there is impressive, especially on the background and on the shading to convey the mood of each story. The story was executed perfectly and really expressive (poor Martin…) You will be great ! Good luck on your journey of manga !
as an aspiring mangaka myself..It's amazing hearing out your incredible journey. You've taught us a lot with this video and have just ignite a fire within US! Please keep up the great work!! We'll be apart of your journey to support you, Including ME!
I was very surprised watching the video; you have gone through the exact same thought process I have, and even managed to overcome the "fear" you mentioned in the video. I am still yet to do so, and I admire you for accomplishing things not all people can do. Keep up your passion!
Merci pour la vidéo tu m’a inspiré et pour tout te dire j étais tellement content pour toi quand j’ai vu que tu avais réussi ton concours en 2024 continue comme ça
I read your manga on the SMA website and it's so amazing!! The plot twist is crazy and I still can't believe you made the manga on ibispaint, that's really impressive and so inspiring.❤
Amateur. I been drawing since I was born! Nah I am just kidding. Keep having fun. In all seriousness glad you made it. Also My mom told me once that I was scribbling on her Bibles when I was a 1 year old. I didn't feel better about my art until my 30s. My dream was to become a indie game developer, but I doubt I will become that I like drawing more. I also like Picture books a lot more than comics and mangas.
I'm an older hobbyist and got serious near the end of 2021, and also wanted to make comics(more in the Western comic strip traditions than manga - e.g. Pogo, Calvin and Hobbes), but along the way I've detoured into landscape painting and animal drawing and zinemaking. It's true, art is super vast, and going in the "front door" by grinding through manga competitions to be a pro isn't right for everyone, but it's definitely the type of thing that is worth trying once to learn something about yourself.
I loved the video and I'm happy for you! I had a good last year in art, but this year things slowed down a lot. Trying to improve is difficult, especially when you don't any clear results. As your observation gets better, the flaws in your drawings only become more apparent and it's really dejecting. One thing I noticed in the video is that you spent an *enormous* time drawing and studying, so it's absolutely natural that you have improved. This motivates me that if I show as much dedication, I can do it too 🙂
This video was really insightful as someone who's been meaning to try their hand at making manga. I was initially inspired by inee's work Love Bullet too seeing as they're making manga as someone who's not from Japan.
Tysm for sharing your journey!!! Holy shrimple ur so inspiring 😭😭😭💖💖💖 I've been drawing for years and have always wanted to make comics :,) Maybe after this I'll actually attempt a one shot ❤ Good luck on the rest of your career!!! You're amazing 🥹💖
thank you for sharing this! im still stuck on the fear of disappointment part. i am so scared to post my art that i have deleted everything from social media and now i do not have the confidence or time to pursue art 😭 i appreciate the tips you’ve shared 🥹
Really inspiring, makes me want to enter more of these competitions. Bon Travail! (I stopped studying french like 4 years ago so I don't want to embarrass myself by trying to say anything more)
I myself am in the wanting to get better/ constantly comparing myself stage right now and I do feel stuck but this video gave me a little bit of hope that my dream is possible so thank you and I’ll definitely read your manga your art is great
I've also been drawing since I was about 7 or 8. I've improved a lot since then but I'm not nearly as good as I want. Seeing your progress over such a short time and the dedication you put into this makes me hopeful that with determination and hard work, I can definitely get there🥰 Also you have excellent English
I also really want to try being a manga artist but i have *no idea* how and what to do, i’m basically on scratch and is very confused, I’m gonna try to get inspiration to see if I can get some clues on how to start and where to start😭
this video helped me pick my pen back up. all of my friends who are already good at art just told me to keep drawing and that you just need to do it, but i feel as if I'm just banging my head against a brick wall. but seeing someone succeed made me want to try and climb the brick wall instead
This is so inspiring!!! Your journey has truly been special, I'm glad you found what you love, thank you for sharing. I've love drawing my whole life, but the last year has been especially hard for me art. I can't find my style and it feels like constant torture, I'm constantly frozen like a deer in the headlights, unsure of how exactly I want to draw something. Plus I've developed carpal tunnel syndrome and I feel like I'm just losing what I've loved my whole life. It's hard, but I don't want to give up, I want to move forward and finally find myself, find a style and way of drawing that I can call my own.
Thank you so much for making this video! I very recently completed my first year of drawing (still gotta do more anatomy studies haha). I had only heard rumors every now and then about copying manga panels, but your use of it is super inspiring! Even if my understanding of anatomy is still pretty lack luster (and knowledge on doing backgrounds is even worse), will be trying out redrawing a lot of panels from my favorite manga (also a nice break from studies ngl)
It's literally my dream become a Mangaka professional... and I really trying and learning japanese for this, your video really give me inspiration, I have all the story write, but I never draw it because I think I don't have enough art techniques for this. YOU GIVE ME SO MUCH CONFIDENCE I want to start studying more and more, and one day be like the famous mangakas, Really great and inspiring video
Coucou!!
I have always wanted to become a manga artist and even started drawing a black and white weebtoon but I burned out before finishing one chapter, :(( your video made me realise that maybe I should just start with smaller expectations for myself and by just coping some officjal manga pages or page of some random short story that I made up at 3 am 💥 It is kinda demotivating seeing how much you could improve in a few years but the way you talk about it really just gave me hope that I don’t have to be perfect all the time and just focus on practising :333 🔥🔥
This really hit home for me. I’ve been working on my own comic, but I always hold back on super detailed drawings. I guess I’m scared I’ll mess it up or won’t know how to finish it. Still, I’m pushing myself to get past that fear and really tap into my potential. Hopefully, one day I’ll reach your level of skill. 💖
This video was really helpful! I feel like now I should do some more master studies... but I had a question through the whole video, if it's not too personal? You were talking about drawing all day, and devoting all your time to it, and I was wondering what your living situation was like? I was thinking things like "Oh, I can't do that much because I have a full time job, and then household chores and cooking take up so much of the free time leftover..." Were you relying on your family maybe, or were you also living independently? If you were living independently, what was the balance between work, necessary chores, and drawing like? Thanks again for making this!
Didn't watch (as of Dec 12, 2024), but I'd like to say congratulations for becoming an established manga artist! Hoping I can read some of your works some day.
Pretty amazing story and its also ways encouraging to hear other artists journeys. Im currently working towards being a manage artist. Im in the training faze😅 it’s going okay but I’m committed and wont give you. Your words on just doing it and don’t procrastinate are so important of all people but definitely artists we get distracted and talk ourselves down. We are all going to be on different journeys to get to the goals we set but one of the most important things is not letting out fears stop us from progress and pushing ourselves…. 😊
I love creating stories or just characters coming from animes i like and my dream was always to trasform them into drawings but i have so little time for drawing and its always late when im very tired, this video gave me more motivation to keep improving.
I'm happy I just found your channel! Your story is very inspiring, so thank you so much for sharing it. 🥰 I am currently at the stage of creating my first one-shot and drawing everything in black and white...I love color and cel-shading, but learning how to shade for manga is another game completely. Seeing how you also been through that stage and the outcome, I feel encouraged to keep going. 😁
I was in this manga journey since August and im doing it as a passion project, its just sad that i will be layed off from my current job and It might take a while before i got the free time I need to get back on may manga, yet your video inspired me to pursue it more, but once i get the ability to have time to draw. Thank you for your inspiring story.
The feeling of “running out of time” and the urge to rush towards getting better and better kinda resonates with me rn because im going through, I work a demanding fulltime job that takes up a huge portion of my time, and when I get time to draw instead of drawing things that I enjoy or that are more creative, I spend that time practicing (BECAUSE IM GETTING OLD AND IM RUNNING OUT OF TIME!1!!1). Practicing definitely helped my and I’m at a point where I’m really happy with my progress but maybe I should relax more and give myself more time to be creative haha.

This motivates me that if I show as much dedication, I can do it too 🙂
This video is a gold mine -thank you !! And congratulations on your journey 🎉
morpho anatomy for artists will make your anatomy knowledge as an artist skyrocket
This video was really insightful as someone who's been meaning to try their hand at making manga. I was initially inspired by inee's work Love Bullet too seeing as they're making manga as someone who's not from Japan.
Tysm for sharing your journey!!! Holy shrimple ur so inspiring 😭😭😭💖💖💖
I've been drawing for years and have always wanted to make comics :,)
Maybe after this I'll actually attempt a one shot ❤
Good luck on the rest of your career!!! You're amazing 🥹💖
thank you for sharing this! im still stuck on the fear of disappointment part. i am so scared to post my art that i have deleted everything from social media and now i do not have the confidence or time to pursue art 😭
i appreciate the tips you’ve shared 🥹
Really inspiring, makes me want to enter more of these competitions. Bon Travail! (I stopped studying french like 4 years ago so I don't want to embarrass myself by trying to say anything more)
the way she said "Few" years was polite, thou these years were THE MOST frustrating period ever.
I'm biting the bullet and making my first manga. Even storyboarding has been hard for me but I'm inspired to push through !
You really inspire me to be a manga artist thanks to you I’ve been striving to get better thank you
Congratulations on the competitions!! You're art is really fun to look at
the "Idk my art style lemme just draw what I see others do" --is literally ME rn
Even if my understanding of anatomy is still pretty lack luster (and knowledge on doing backgrounds is even worse), will be trying out redrawing a lot of panels from my favorite manga (also a nice break from studies ngl)
you're very dedicated and inspiring. good job
t'es trop forte, je résonne énormément avec ce que tu as partagé, c'est tellement inspirant. Merci pour cette vidéo
This is proof if you work hard at something you can get it done faster then others.
9:32 is so pretty and you inspired me to make my own manga
You started on ibispaint??? Omg.. that's diabolically cool !! May I know how to get the manga textures like the screentones and stuff?
ive been going thru it with my art but after watching ur video, it really made me feel so much better.. 💗💗
It's literally my dream become a Mangaka professional... and I really trying and learning japanese for this, your video really give me inspiration, I have all the story write, but I never draw it because I think I don't have enough art techniques for this. YOU GIVE ME SO MUCH CONFIDENCE I want to start studying more and more, and one day be like the famous mangakas, Really great and inspiring video
thank you for sharing your art journey with us, it's truly motivating
I sadly feel the oposite of inspired from this because you where so good from the beginning that I realize what talent looks like. Happy for you.
hahaha yep
we didn't see the sketches and drafts. don't be disheartened, we show our best works online ❤ even the best artists have days like that
AHhhhhh I saw that Dia fan art at 4:17 omg. You a real one 😭😭😭
You give me so much inspiration, i hope that the next year i can improve so much as like you ❤
give up
yeah, like really cool. pretty inspiring to see your journey and how you get even better.
Thanks again for making this!
you're so awesome and inspiring! I absolutely love your art
very inspiring video keeps me alive to draw again thanks.
I'm also learning art as a hobby but aim to be Manga Artist in a few years.
Hope u very best for ur future too
Didn't watch (as of Dec 12, 2024), but I'd like to say congratulations for becoming an established manga artist! Hoping I can read some of your works some day.
Gosh the improvement is crazyyyy i love it 🔥🔥
Une française !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cocorico, tout ton pays est derrière toi
et bravo c'est géant
You've done great! All the time you put in has paid off! Nice work!
this was so beautiful loved seeing your journey
I don't know why but with each drawing you showed, my urge to draw became bigger and bigger 😭
at the end of the video, your words made me cry, but in a good way. thanks😊
I was really happy to see sakuraopals video here :3
you actually gave me so much motivation now. thank you for this video ❤
After watching this vid, I'm inspired to start my manga... Well I wanna do One Shots and practice for my Manga
Been looking forward to this!
Your manga is amazing!! So inspiring!!
also the way you won WITH IBIS PAINT? CONGRATS DAMN
