My mum in law finds that one of her legs, as she's walking goes out to one side, changing the direction she's going. Very dangerous when walking by a road, so she has to keep away from the kerb.
I will try her with this exercise, she's 87 and active but notice her strength is going.
    Thank you for this video.

I would try and have her doctor address this. That is a bit unusual as you describe.

I damaged my nerve behind my calf. Torn on 2 places so I walk with a drop foot.
I am always aware and look where I walk as I also had a few falls.
My.problem now is that I had vertigo which brought a fear of falling. I get anxiety attacts when I am in open spaces. If I can just hold onto something small like the hem of my husbands shirt in the mall I am fine.
I bought myself a walker and can walk quite far and quickly it is just this huge sub conscious matter that I do not have the courage to get over. I am only 62 but had this problem for almost 5 years. I fell in 1997 when I damaged my nerve (peroneus).

will nerve damage in my legs from peripheral neuropathy prevent proprioception from improving?

Nerve damage will certainly limit proprioception since your ability to feel where your legs are and what you are standing on is provided by your peripheral nerves. But You can certainly improve your proprioception with the right types of activities. Balance challenging and specific proprioceptive exercises can help you improve your sense of where your feet and legs are DESPITE the neuropathy.
