My Full Trumpet Course is now available at my website www.trumpet-guy.com/course and you just pay what you think the course is worth. More explained on the website.
This was the one out the three videos that is most helpful to me and I use it my warmups. I've been playing this for a week or two and have already been able to play this higher than before. I could barely hit the C well the first time and now I'm at Eb trying to get to E🤟
i wanna thank you for making this mini series . only been using this exercise for one day and I am already seeing progress . i can’t wait for football season 💪🏽😁 !!
iRiotz V I love football season for this reason exactly. High note screamers are what the stands are made for If you want to see my high register playing, check out my RUclips channel ruclips.net/channel/UC0zqaQGuJmVSwEuz5h7fydQ Just some tips when playing in that high of a register, to become more efficient :) *1. To gain range you need to play in the upper register more often (It's probably going to have to be a daily thing in your practice routine, just make sure that it isn't the only thing you practice however) *2. Just go slowly by half-steps 3. Octave glisses 4. Watching out for excessive mouthpiece pressure in the upper register 5. Your mouthpiece placement on the chops 6. Fast/ efficient air *7. Relaxing the throat - not forcing the note out, letting the air do the job for you 8. Starting articulation of the note you are trying to learn 9. Hearing the note in your head before you play it 10. Resting the chops (After practicing all throughout the week I usually give myself Saturday & Sunday off) 11. Having confidence *12. Tightening the core - Breathing from the abdomen "Flexing your core"
Thanks for making these videos Mr. Trumpet Guy. I will use them in my daily warm ups. The highest note I can play well is a Bb above the staff. I have hit a D above the staff before.
Enjoyed the 3 part series. Thanks! I am 68 and played 50+ years ago in High school band but never better than 3rd chair. One of the other online instructors taught and suggested flipping learning around to high notes first for many reasons but mostly to find that embouchure that works for "you". I play in a local New Horizons Band designed for older retired players that want to re-learn their instrument. I am encouraged as I can hit a G and want to hit an A clearly. Our songs are pretty easy and tend not to go above G too much. Your comments, suggestions for my age?
My current highest note I’ve ever hit was a triple G but that was only one time. But I typically hit double G and higher multiple times this past semester in jazz band
@@trumpet_guy - thanks so much. Would it be good to intersperse the three exercises with other less challenging exercises? Also, I am practicing with a mute so I don’t make my wife and son crazy… Should I not use the mite when doing these higher range exercises? Again, thank you so much for your feedback and help.
@@FIGBARFILMS yes that definitely wouldn't hurt. I don't think the mute should be a problem unless it reduces the airflow you can put through the trumpet
Make sure First- no pressure on lips till blue...first sign damaging blood circulation inside the lips...no blue colors on your lips...very important!.. Second-right Mouthpiece for your Embouchure...try them as many as you find right one for you in many places-stores...dialers...buy different models...sizes...till you find right one... Of course Embouchure and Aperture are very important for range building practice...Good Luck!
So, realistically, if one does these exerciese daily for 10 (?) minutes or 20 minutes, how long will it take to play high C with comfort? I can play a G, an octave and a half above middle C on the piano (I know it's a B flat trumpet - you know what I mean) but not well enough to believe I can do it during performance when I am nervous. Please advise!
I know that you most likely will not see my comment but I have a playing test coming up soon and it consists of playing low G (1&3) to high G (open then back down again without stopping . I already have trouble playing the G by itself but when I get to the high parts I’m already out of air so I can barely play a f. I also push my trumpet closer to my mouth to play high notes. If you see this I would love if you would help me out
@@Ilnur-v6z I'm late, but what most people I know including me say is double starts at the 3rd octave of a scale, so the g above high c is a double g, so a double e is a 6th above double g, really high
And should I be concerned at the fact that I can play pedal tones and sound like a trombone, and play mid-range notes really loud and sound like a Mellophone?
Jonathan different people have different physical limits on their range without special mouthpieces and advanced tongue arch and things like that. He could play higher if he practiced his range a lot, but for what he does he doesn’t need to go above high C. He’s just helping his viewers.
it doesn't matter how old you are, or how long you've been playing. if you're really so good make a video of you playing it. i'd love to hear your perfect high f

May I copy these down on paper from the last three videos?

These videos are so great that I made a list for it self
These are awesome - thank you so much. First time I played I got to C - highest I have ever got. Unbelievable!
Hey Trumpet Guy, I’d like to purchased your practice notes for the three series you produced. Can you add them to your website?
I can currently play a D to E flat above the staff relatively comfortably but my goal is to play a double G before I graduate, which is soon sooooo
My current highest note I’ve ever hit was a triple G but that was only one time. But I typically hit double G and higher multiple times this past semester in jazz band
Curious as to why you keep editing the videos
Thanks for these tutorials. How often should I practice these? On a daily basis?
I recommend every other day

I been really tying to play high A but Im making spit sounds

I can reach the notes but they sound like a mouse has died in my trumpet! Probably because I can't hold the note stable.

Are you coming to Adam Fest? Chris Boti will be there! Let me know if I can help you get here, I'll be a great time!
Impossible
Thanks. Know I'm late but I can almost play a double g
The highest I can play is a d above the staff smh
That's not bad. Just keep working
Angel Castro how long u been playing for
Angel Castro that's kinda good tho, I've been playing for 2 school years
Are u in high school or middle school
I’m at triple e
I honestly dont get what double or triple in a note means. Where does it start counting from?
tuxman3osmanov gg if I’m not mistaken I think it’s the one above the staff so double e and e are on the staff but I could be wrong
@@brandonkreber2564 I looked on google images and it showed that the first E that is above the staff is a double E.

i can make a legit squeak that sounds like a mouse not even a note
Lol. Always remember that today’s squeaks become tomorrow’s notes.

Play high notes
He teachin how to play high but he can balrey play high himself. He cant even play screamin notes.
I think it’s just how the audio comes across. Plus, not everybody is built to play much above what he’s playing.

@@ColinMroczko i am 16 years old and i can play a tripple G and sometimes A.
I am the only trumpet screamer in my school though
@@ColinMroczko IMO physical limitations dont really come into play until you get to double G range. If you're dedicated, anyone can "scream."
Jonathan cool man 😐
I'm not sure the highest note I can hit. It's kinda random but I know I can definitely hit a double C, sometimes a D above that or higher
I can play f above the stave and I'm only 15 LMAO
