I love listening to Rory. But has anyone noticed that of his many wonderful vids this is one of several where his phone goes off while he’s speaking. It has happened often enough now that I am beginning to wonder if we are unwittingly participating in some behavioral economics experiment.
Rory reminds me of that absent minded whiz professor TEEMING with creativity, ideas and wisdom to such extent as to forget to turn off his phone!! hahaahah.. Lovely bloke. Would love to chat with him in person!

For me, I see Rory Sutherland on the title paired with words like “Advertising”, I click. I don’t even look at the views, like to dislike ratio, comments and video duration the way I used to. My time is important and the last thing I want is to waste 20mins of my time watching rubbish content. That said, I see Rory, I click... And watch till end.
The train speed example is a bit flawed because the train speed has clear macroeconomic effects in the areas it serves. So, investments in higher speed trains are not usually motivated by passenger preferences (except Japan, trains are usually not profitable anyway)
wasn't his point exactly that? "it should be driven by people who use it, that would make trains more valuable and hence, profitable even without million dollar changes"
@@chrissh0485 Don't know if you got around to watching it, but he used the fictional McLard burger as an example. If you put an item on the menu that is obviously bad, every other option will seem more appealing.
Yes a sign showing your speed will reduce accidents more then a speed camera. The problem is the goal is not to reduce accidents it is to raise revenue from the speeding tickets.
In this "Hack" of the Human mind, no AI or GAI was harmed. or even used... Jewelry and Flower gifts for Women are perceived as valuable because of their "Sacrificial value". (moments before his conclusion)
Comparing Sutherland to Bojo the Clown is seriously disrespectful. And saying Bojo the Clown had a proper job before his political career is laughable. He was a bloody journalist, and a lying one at that!
Rory Sutherland is simply AMAZING!! There are so many lessons here for us educators...

😊
Rory Sutherland is absolutely incredible!
Not really. He just has a voice to speak the obvious, because people don't think on this level anymore people see him as "incredible"

He's social proofing himself. Making his advice seem more valuable
It just because he actually doesn't care. He's just chilled
Maybe he got someone to call him to help him stay on track for his presentation
You learn fast❤😂
Rory is freaking amazingggg, my notepad is filled with so m any interesting observations I just realized today
I could listen to this man all day
Get his book ‘Alchemy’ it’s brilliant. I have the audio book version and it’s him reading it.
Analogy with Boris is unfair to Rory. If he would get half the airtime Boris got over the years, our society would be in a better place.
Watching this 3 years after your comment and completely agree. Johnson is a charlatan, Rory is well intentioned.
Chalk and cheese
Rory Sutherland for PM!!
Rory and Boris Johnson couldn't be less alike.
Roy has value.
Roys grown on me for real for real where is hes socials or does he have a book or something
@richardasimba5867
Yes he's written a book called Alchemy
Excellent value as always.

Makes me think.... This thing happened in most of his videos. Deliberate? 🤔

🤣
They most certainly do.
Classic
They do and they're happier. It's the opposite for women.
I want to know what the Canadian compromise was!

Please correct the title spelling. Or is it a deliberate interface. Your eyes stop at that word because there is something odd.
I wish we had been that sneaky! Good spot, we've corrected now ;)

His phone goes off every presentation lol.
It's fixed.
I didn't notice :/
What is the expression Rory uses in minute 15:17? "Mclawed"?
Thanks for helping
a McLard Burger
Mclard? I haven’t watched it yet so I’m assuming meaning McDonald’s serving bad fatty foods

Why is she insulting by calling him 'Boris the Lying Johnson'?
What was the compromise??

Intensive Squirrel Farming 🤣 Interesting how human being operate

what was on the screen at 40:07?
My guess is that they made boxes with. 50/50 mix of square and diamond shredded to keep both groups of consumers happy.

Just beat me to it. I have heard of "the Cobra Effect", but not the "squirrel effect".
Cobra is much easier to remember how to spell, too.
