their ceo has a rock, specifically jrock background since he worked with x japan. siyeon was also in a rock band in her teen years. obviously the ceo was the driving factor but giving her background, I'm sure siyeon was supportive of the idea. there are indications some members listen to rock/metal, like jiu liking baby metal, but I don't think these were significant driving factors. the ceo is a legend for giving them a second chance. that's something you don't hear about in kpop where there's a lot of negative connotations about the industry. there were a lot of more popular, higher profile groups that disbanded even after having semi-successful first year or two. he said he saw the members could pull off any concept and genre so he couldn't let it end with minx.
Regarding 8:10, no, Happyface Entertainment wasn't starting out with Minx; they started out 2008-2009. Their main idol group was Dal★Shabet (debuted 2011). Love Shake was one of Dal★Shabet's B-sides. There's also a really cute cover of Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree with Minx + Dal★Shabet. Highly recommended.
the original song is b-side from "Dal Shabet", they senior. But now we have Love Shake version Dreamcatcher too. The company didn't chance their name, they just add sub label "Dreamcatcher Company" under "Happyface Entertainment"
For Theo => now is the good ones: 1. The CEO&Wife willing to sell their shares of HFE + add their personal income to re-debut the members as Dreamcatcher 2. The CEO promised them, if "project Dreamcatcher revival" gonna failed again, he will personally make cucumber plantation business & hire all members to make up their losses financially 3. CEO pulled his connection to J-Rock industry & X-Japan for Dreamcatcher music 4. Siyeon find this concept suits her musical taste&style 5. The re-debut thing in Kpop as far as i know only happend about 10x since 2003(when i start follwing into Kpop world more seriously), none of them are very successful at that moment, so for them really brave enough to do this is such a very big bet. 6. Handong & Gahyeon supposed to debut with Minx, but since the whole thing happend they really have to adapt quickly with Dreamcatcher concept that almost total opposite of Minx (they did good in chase me & later on progressing well as years goes by). 7. I think there's a change of working culture in HFE, which more relax & family approach + more freedom to the members life as well, which is still done until now. Idols in 2000-2015 kinda live in a very restricted life which is might leads to more stress in life.
I prefer Why did you come to my home in general but the mv is a big yikes considering Dami and Yoohyeon were minors. Some of the oldest comments on that video are just downright disgusting because of the camera angles. The sexualization seemed to have had quite an impact on Siyeon and Dami who just refused to wear anything but pants for years after that. Both have also mentioned not liking the music they were making at the time. As for whether or not they liked rock, Siyeon used to be the front woman of a rock band in middle school and high school and has been a MASSIVE fan of one ok rock, miyavi and fall out boys since the beginning, Jiu is a fan of baby metal. I believe it was Siyeon who said finding out they were re debuting with a rock concept felt like going back to her roots (unfortunately this led to her getting pigeonholed as a rock vocalist and now non fans refuse to acknowledge her skills as a traditional vocalist) and I think Jiu was the one who mentioned being scared that she wouldn't fit the concept.
Love the song its still a bop. In terms of liking rock before Dreamcatcher, i atleast know for sure that siyeon liked rock, pretty sure she was in a school rock band or similar? (Someone can correct me there). Out of all the members i think JiU fits the theme 100%, they did an ot7 version of love shake relatively recently after their first win, you can find it on youtube! Edit: alot of the members (especially siyeon and dami) couldnt listen to any minx music for a long time after the disbandment as it hit them very hard. It was only after their first win that they started embracing it more
For Theo => these are the good&bad things happened behind the scene: The bad thing first(the good one will listed in my next comment after this): 1.siyeon & dami super sad& almost depressed since they kinda thought they failed in music. Siyeon refuse to listen any song at all 2. Jiu really questioning herself about her leadership & wondering if her lack of leadership = 1reason of minx failed 3. SuA dislike that short hair & never wanna do it again 4. HappyFace Entertainment not having a good income & later on the CEO have to sell some of their shares for future activities.
Ahora (G idol) copio ese concepto y le llamaron klaxon 😂😂😂😂 Pd: me encanta dreamcatcher pero ese pasado oscuro hasta yo trataba de olvidarlo al igual que ellas😅
dreamcatcher \:D/ ... uh I mean minx lol you need to put dreamcatcher in the title or no one will find it. I guess there might be hardcore minx fans who search for minx reactions but... 😅

Justice has arrived, but here Minx's Love Shake rises.
Love Shake is legendary song. For good/bad it's a step stone for Dreamcatcher :)
I genuinely like this song. The chorus is a bloody earworm!!!! 😂
Dreamcatcher just comeback with 10th Mini Album 'VirtuouS' and their title track JUSTICE. You might love their B-sides too from this album.
i like 'why do you come to my home' than love shake in term of song but mv i prefer this.
The whistle note from Siyeon in that song is wild

Dreamcatcher made a comeback a few days ago. Please check it out. It's really awesome!!!
Love the song its still a bop.

Correct, Siyeon = the vocalist of her school rock band before joining HFE
also dreamcatcher made a cover of love shake
That's so cool haha
