I couldn't be happier with my new Seawing Supernova fins! They are the most efficiently powerful fin I've ever worn, and offer great control. The fact that they can split for travel, are modular and can be customized are just added bonuses in my opinion.
I replaced my aging Super Rocket Fins with Seawing Nova Gorilla fins many years ago (2014). Love those fins, they work for every fin kick, including backing up.
Still have my first set of Scubapro Jet Fins I purchased 5 decades ago. I usually use and am happy with both Nova foot & open heel versions.
I bought ROCKETS in the 1970's and they still RULE today
I have a 10 4E wide foot, and booties and fins have been something of a frustration for me. I find my Deep 6 Divers Eddy fins how more power and control then my RK3, especially in current, where I find the RK3 to break. Hover the Eddy mold puts pressure right in my toe joint and causes swelling. The Atomic Blade fin is my favorite OW non Technical dive fin, great pocket. Mares Quartto, absolutely crushes by big wide foot.
I am currently using RK3, but I would love to see Zeagle Recon and Oceanic Manta ray to be in the list as well.
I have the Cressi Palau fins.. Very comfortable, durable and easy to dive with. Surprisingly they are very good even at deeper depths up to 22m. Anything beyond that it still works, but reduced efficiency, esp with mild currents.
I love how the Palau fins are designed for the blade to start at the top of the foot pocket for a good angle while still being mostly flat so you don't bend them while standing on a flat deck.
I bought the aqualung storm and didn't realise they're barefoot fins. Fantastic 10 ten presentation.👌
I usually dive in warm water in Taiwan, we have 0-3knots currents here. I have(had) :
1. Scubapro Seawing Nova, not the gorilla version(sold cause too soft for me).
2. Scubapro Jet Fins(friend borrowed and still borrowing, powerful! but always kick my selves leg while frog kicking).
3. Tusa SF-22, my first OW fins with lots of color to choose(sold cause also too soft)
4. GULL Barracuda(My top3 fins, can swim very fast to chase mantas, whales or shark whales, but too long for traveling, and not easy to walk and carry on reefs.
5. DiveRite XT Fins, my No.1 fins(one kick=seawing nova 3 kicks, powerful!!), but only have 3 colors to choose, if they have green ones, I’ll order immediately.
6. Mares Avanti Quattro Plus, power little better then seawing nova(never use it since I bought the XT’s)
My top 3 is XT’s >Barracuda>Jet Fins
how does the RK3s compare to the Fourth Element Tech Fins?
If you had to redo your 800m/yd fin swim for DM, what fins would you use???
Quatro for strong current, rk3 for cave diving🔥
Is is true about sea wing nova are pretty less of power especially against current?
Hi there I’m new to diving in the uk and have no kit and wanted to ask what types of kit (make and model) anyone would recommend when purchasing second hand kit. Lots of people are selling equipment on Facebook and eBay . But it’s a bit of a minefield when it comes to prices as peoples opinions on how much things cost vastly vary???? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hollis F1 are great for power and floaty feet too
the Fourth Element fins are practically an exact copy of the Mares Avanti Quattro
Beware of the Seawing Supernova; yes the swappable foot pocket is a great idea BUT they are VERY VERY FLOATY, to the point I was almost unable to keep myself from being pulled backwards towards the surface without adding ankle weights. Obviously everyone is different and maybe others would find they trimmed out well. I'm replacing mine with some RK3 HDs.
Sad to hear that. I quite fancy them.
Still can't beat the Quattro
Hahaha
if you don't get bungy or steel straps walk away, just too hard to get off and on.
you can also replace your old straps for bungy inexpensively if you like the fins.
Totally agree, it's just so convenient and easily replaceable as you mentioned
RK3's, JetFinn, Quatro ;)
just curious why is the nova recommended over the supernova? isnt supernova the successor which addressed some if the flaws nova allegedly had?
What about Beuchat Aquabionics ?
Love the videos. I’ve seen several of these “best for” lists and “floaty legs” is a common category. But does anyone have any suggestions for sinky legs?? My lower extremities seem to redefine the phrase “lead foot”
It could be as simple as relocating some of the lead to shift your centre of buoyancy.
Thicker neoprene boots may help. If you're diving thin 3mm boots then a pair of 6.5mm will double their buoyancy with minimal impact to your diving. Neoprene trousers are another way to increase the buoyancy to your legs.
There are a handful of buoyant fins out there but, I'd start by looking at where the lead is placed to help bring your shoulders down.
@@ScubaDiverMagazine thank you for that! I’ll try the boots first and see what kind of difference that makes and adjust as needed. Appreciate you!
Tusa flex pro ♥️
Tecline light jet fins
why is eddy not on the list?
OMS Slipstream, a lighter alternative to Jet Fin
Don't forget the Deep6 Eddy
RK3’s are king
I've put 120 dives in the rk3s and another 120 diving between the scubapro jet fins and the dive rite xt-2 fins. In comparison the rk3s are a toy. There no comparison. The latter ones are far superior. In the end, you get what you paid for. It's very much true with fins.
I use RK3’s for most every day use and are my go to fins. I have an old set of TUSA Liberators that I like for snorkeling, and a set of Scubapros for when I might need a long surface swim on a shore dive.
@@GuilhermeSadovski1 jet fins are not good for wetsuit diving at all. They're way too negative and will mess your trim up. RK3s are good for wetsuit diving in cramped areas where XTs would be too big to manoeuvre with.
@@GuilhermeSadovski1 you mean jet fins are way better than rk3 fins? (i've been using jet fin since my certification and now looking for a better fin if theres any)
@@Biriadan this is not true. I dive jet fins using hash guard in summer and 5.5mm wetsuit in winter.
👍
Gull gt fins
gull super mew xx
Gull really have awesome products, Barracuda, Warp
is this the new "simply scuba"?
went from rk3 -> Eddy fins
Why is that ?
"Sinky" huh? LOL
🤣👌👌
This was poorly researched.
