In the chik feet you can also use vinegar sugar and salt for cleaning that is more beter than the salt only. In the fish you can also use jackfruit leaves, guava leaves, and the tanglad or a lemon grass with the ginger.
Today I made this sambal and OMG. Its soooooo good. My daughter and husband can't stop eating. This is wht Im searching for so many years. Thank u so so much. U are my cooking guru.
Awesome. I’m so happy to know your family loved this sambal. I’m sure the love you used to cook brought the level of yumminess up a notch. Glad to be able to help you. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hello! Should I call you Jessica? Yes please blanch the chicken feet first. Dump them in room temp water over fire. Bring the pot to a boil so that the impurities from the chicken feet will be released. Happy cooking!
I've heard soaking fish in milk for 20 minutes helps to rid the fishy smell.. it sounds more like a wives tale - have you heard of this? Your explanation sounds much more proper
Oops, came across this video only now long after I made the chicken feet lotus root peanut soup you shared. Don't laugh but I didn't know the claws should be removed and cooked with them. I used a toothbrush to scrub under the claws and anywhere dirt might be.
I always like to eat at the chicken giblet and liver from the Chicken Rice Restaurant. However, when I do it at home, (I just blanch it with hot water) somehow there is an unpleasant smell and taste. Please help.
I had a chat with Roland about your question. He suggested that you use salt water to wash the glizzard and liver. For the liver, you can further soak them in salted water for 15 mins. When you’re cooking them, try adding one or two pieces of ginger. This may help.
Hi there. We Chinese usually cook it in soup, curry or stew. You can also bake them with some salt, lemon and some herbs like oregano and thyme. Add some garlic- would be great too.
Please cut the kidney in half first then remove all the white veins and stuff in the kidney. After this, soak the kidneys in slightly salted water and leave them in the fridge for 30 mins. Please change the salt water once every 10 mins. If you wanna play safe, soak the kidneys until the salt water stays clear. You can also ask your butcher to remove the white stuff on kidneys so all you need to do at home is to soak them in salt water.
My way is that after rinsing the fish a couple of times with plain water I then add a couple of spoons of common salt and stir the fish thoroughly with the salt. This draws out the fishy smell. Then rinse it again with plain water twice. This is to prevent the fish dish tasting salty. And one more round of a spooonful of tumeric powder. Mix well and rinse off with clean water. And your fish is ready for cooking. You do the same for chicken mutton or beef squids and prawns. That s the way you wash and clean.
Why you eat that feet..? Where is the rest of the chicken, the good parts? Did you get those chicken's feet from the back of the KFC store? What about the feathers?
LOL. No they weren’t from KFC. Just go to the market and they will sell you. The rest of the chicken were bought by other people. Feathers of the chicken were made into feather dusters.

Spice N' Pans thanks
don’t cut the tip of the chicken feet off just the nail will do
When the fish smells that means isn't good you have to throw it away
Haha no not really. The fish is good. Just that the blood on the fish makes it taste fishy. So you need to really clean it properly. Happy cooking!
My way is that after rinsing the fish a couple of times with plain water I then add a couple of spoons of common salt and stir the fish thoroughly with the salt. This draws out the fishy smell. Hi there 🙏🙏
Isnt a fish supposed to smell and taste fishy? And thats the head of that fish, with the 2 eyes and everything in it.
LOL. Don’t tolerate nasty fishy smell on your fish. They are not supposed to taste nasty. Insist on the best for yourself. You deserve better.
