after years not using Flash, I needed a refresh and this was just perfect.Simple, clear, effective. It's all coming back to me! Thank you.

Thank you very much for this tutorial! Initially I was also having problems like Julian and the symbol wouldn't adhere to the path, but I read your comment and tried adjusting the symbol to snap onto the path. Just a little nudge seems to make all the difference! Also, my symbol was rotating around as it went along the path (a curved path), which I didn't want, and it turned out that un-checking "orient to path" will keep the symbol from spinning around if you have loops in your path.

This method of doing this can be very trouble some. Make sure that the bullet layer is "inside" the guide or "path" layer and then make sure it is done using a classic tween and it should work just fine. Sometimes Flash just doesn't recognize that it is on the line. Make sure your image kind of "snaps" to the line in the first and last frame. The classic tween should do the rest if positioned right. Another way to animate something like this is with motion tweens.

I did two animation states for a pixel art animation. I'm wondering how to use the tween to swap back and forth between both image poses. Any ideas? I'd rather not animate this manually frame by frame.

I've followed this as closely as possible, but I can't get it to work. My bullet just goes in a straight line, it doesn't follow the pencil path. Not sure what I'm doing wrong!

Hey there, I'm doing a walking animation and I can't seem to get this path thing down pat. So I've got 35 or so frames each with one phase of the walk, and I selected them all choosing "Create Classic Tweed" before parenting it to the motion path I created as per your studio. Unfortunately, the first layer with all the keyframes likes to jump around to parts of the path instead of gliding over it as intended. Any idea as to what I can do?

Motion Tweens are the best way to go about this with the latest version of Adobe Animate.

The second keyframe on the path's layer is not needed
