Thank you for this. I also saw it in another video that baking them for an hour at 190 C post washing thoroughly, can kill the mould and ensure better hygiene.

Very Informative. But I have 2 Questions.
Would be Grateful if you could reply.
    1) I have heard that after Baking, Mud pots are yellowish and porous. After baking the standard practice is that the Potter uses something like a thick paint all around the pot, inside and outside. This seals the pores to some extent, and also makes the pot look neat, and improves the aesthetic appeal.
My question is what is this paint that they use. I have heard that it contains a lot of toxic heavy metals like lead.
    2) My mother always says that Fish Curry after cooking has to be left in the Mann Chatti, and that it will be more tasty the next day. Some say that after cooking, whatever that curry may be, it has to be transferred to another vessel, and that the Mann Chatti has to be cleaned right away and kept to dry. I just wanted to know from your experience all the reasons why we should transfer curry to another vessel after cooking. Or is it ok to leave the curry in it, reheat and use it till it is over.
    Thanks.

Hi, glad you found this video useful. Regarding your enquires
      1. Its called Glazed Terra Cotta Ceramic pots also known as baked earthen pots. I normally use unglazed clay pots for my regular cooking. I do have Terra Cotta pots which I hardly use as I love cooking in our traditional clay pots.
      2. Your Mom is right fish curry taste better when left in mann chatti, I always do that no need to transfer it to another pot let it stay.
Hope you found this info useful. Eat healthy and stay connected for many more useful videos.
