Looks good, nice job. But, you might want to make one change for your viewers (and for when a certain piece breaks). Don't use an end grain cut off at the stop. It's takes very little pressure to break that thing in half.
Use a piece of side grain and you'll be golden. (Meaning, the grain of the wood should run the length of the stop piece, as opposed to running the thickness of it.)
Great tip! I learned that the hard way. It broke a week in, just like you said! Thanks again for taking time to comment.
I made a pair of these, simple and functional. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome! & glad you liked it!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked it! Thanks.
Thanks for posting this great instruction video. I made 3 out of a 2"x4"x8'.
You bet. I'm really glad it helped!
Great video!! Just knocked it out. Thanks for the how to!!
Awesome! Thanks for letting me know.
Well I be dam!! I found my weekend project. Thx!!
Haha!! I’m so glad. Enjoy!
This video brought to you by the word "countersink"!
Haha!! I wonder how many times I said it. Lolllll
@@diywithandrew how's the hanger holding up? I'm gonna pull out the table saw tomorrow and knock this out. I need to change up the current Cornhole storage! Appreciate the video and inspiration!
@@kell733 It's still rockin! Only thing is my little tab broke because I cut it off the wrong woodgrain so it was weak. Updated that and all good!
Love it! Next weekend's "p'oject"👍
Thank you! Hope project goes well. Thanks for watching and the comment.
This is awesome, can't wait to try it. BTW - I like that bike wall mount, could you share what product that is?
Thanks man! Here’s the link for the bike mount: amzn.to/3d5rXTk
What's the measurement from the top of the hanger (base 2x4) to the part that goes through the hole?
About 7”.
I followed these directions carefully and didn’t account for the stand that folds into the back that blocks the hole. I guess to anyone making this, check that the board will actually fit before cutting or hanging! 😅
Sorry that happened! Thanks for sharing and adding to the knowledge pool.
sorry if duplicated but what drill bit did you use for counter sinking the holes? Did you put some felt on the top later or is that what your sanding was for as I did not see that video with that? appreciate it! Great video and getting that done while I am redoing our garage!
Hey Shawn! No worries at all. Here is the link to get a set for your tool box. They are essential in mine! amzn.to/3bPYD31
Oh and I forgot! I didn't use felt and have had no trouble with it.
This is great! Got any more stuff you can make with just one 2x4? Or scrap wood?
Thanks dude! I'm sure I do. Stay tuned!
Great video and just what I needed!
Is the 1x2 on the miter saw to keep wood from fraying?
Yep!
Do u need to do the angle cuts or is that just for looks?
Totally for looks. Great question!
Actually, it does add don't function. Without the angled cuts, it may be too sharp and damage the hole. Not trying to correct the creature, but his idea does have an important function beyond looks.
Should the 7 1/2” boards be 9 1/2”? The width of each game board is 4” x 2 = 8”. How do two game board fit on a 7 1/2 “ hanger? Am I missing something in the instructions?
Great question! Because the extended hanger is mounted on a 2x4 which adds an additional 1.5 inch. The first cornhole board can go around it and touch the wall since it is a box. I hope that makes sense!
@@diywithandrew Thanks for the clarification. I made one yesterday at 9”. I don’t have a saw that can cut at an angle for the top of the hanger so I chiseled and sanded it to a curve. I’ll let you know how it works out. I made it as a gift for my sister.
Could make this from pallet wood for no cost
Totally!
Do you have plans for this project?
Not yet but working on them! I'll let you know when they are ready.
Bro. You don’t need plans.
It’s 2 different size cuts (plus a chamfer if you want one) and a few screws.
Watch the vid and make it happen!
