In just two seasons, the New Orleans Pelicans' Jose Alvarado is on his way to becoming a somewhat unexpected NBA star. He has managed to turn annoyance into an art form and excels at getting under his opponents' skin. From going undrafted in 2021 to becoming one of the most notable players on a star-studded Pelicans roster, there's much you still don't know about this 6-foot point guard.
For instance, I’m sure you remember the "Yes, I can shoot" incident with D’Angelo Russell that made him go viral a couple of seasons ago, but do you know how he got his nickname, Jose “GRAND THEFT” Alvarado? Or why the point god, Chris Paul, hates him so much? Or, in general, why he seems to irritate many of today’s NBA players?

Loved him at Georgia Tech, always brought all the energy and one could see he was gonna be a spark plug in the NBA.

Alvarado is a self made player. He's not going to be a star but is one of those players that every team needs.
How you know he won’t be a star? It all depends on media, and his skill, and other factors
As a Pels fan, I, as well as the entire fan base, absolutely adore this guy. He’s an inspiration to my two small sons, knowing that with hard work and determination, you can do amazing things, no matter how many times someone counts you out. Just keep showing out and doing your thing.
