Those bugs were so cute. What kind were they? Do you know? I just want to pick then up and let them crawl on my arms and hands. I know you think I'm nuts but I like bugs.
No matter what you find in the house, nothing beats the thrill of the totally expected finds like these. I enjoyed every minute and your enthusiasm 😀😀😀😊
It's so funny ~ you kept marveling at the vintage Christmas in the trash, but then I couldn't believe you were passing by the needlework stocking. That probably took hours and hours of time and love to make. You know what they say about one person's trash is another's treasure! Great pick, great fun!
In 1974 I bought that angel tree topper for our first Christmas tree and just fixed her up last years with material from my wedding dress since she was falling apart. Love your finds, so true one man’s garbage is another man’s treasure! Love your videos.🇨🇦
Whomever they had handling that estate sale did not do a good job at all. They tossed valuable items and I hope the family sees this. You found treasure for sure Renee. Good for you, you deserve it.
I love your excitement when you were going through the trash! It was like opening gifts at Christmas! They threw away a lot of collectibles. The Mushroom wall hanging was cool. I’m surprised no one bought this stuff at the estate sale. The badge that said CD stands for Civil Defense. During the Cold War, there were Civil Defense fallout shelters all over the place in case of nuclear attack.
Hi Renee, I'm so happy you rescued items from the dumpster. Hard to believe the vintage items thrown away. As others stated I think the CD stands for civil defense, I remember the "duck and cover" drills at school in the 60's. Thanks for sharing Renee, can't wait to see what you find in the house❤️😊
Between the dead santa and the sad angels I was laughing out loud 🤣. Your excitement is contagious. Thanks for taking us along on this newest adventure!
Renee - I love your videos, you are like a breath of fresh air. I was born in 1946 and remember having a few of those pipe cleaner Santa’s in my family’s stash of ornaments. And they were old even then. Also remember Santa on a rocket snow globe. Wow, can’t believe there are other people who recognize such treasured memories from my childhood. The badge you have has a big CD in the middle and stands for Civil Defense. Civil Defense was from WWII when there were neighborhood volunteers who would help out if there should be a bomb attack. Take care.
I have a feeling that you found some amazing treasures in that house. Looking forward to the next video. This situation makes me sad because I think about all the vintage goodness that has been discarded over the past 50 years. Glad you braved the dumpster and saved those treasures.
I loved your little "romp" in the dumpster Renee! The gold CD Badge is the Civil Defense agency from the 1950's! I think when everybody had fallout shelters from the bomb threats. Love all your videos.
So much fun!! For everyone's info, old or worn US flags are not recycled, nor should they be thrown in the trash or dumpster. They are to be burned, in a ceremony conducted by your local American Legion, VFW or Boy Scout troop. Call around to find where to drop it off in your area. Thanks!!
@@dickrush4178 If I remember correctly, the blue field is to be buried and the stripes to be burned. Yes, in solemnity and silence. 🇺🇸 So glad many here are aware of the dignity in which an old flag should be treated. God bless you and God bless our nation.

Renee, yes you did put a pair (2) silver tea steepers into your box like you thought see timestamp 4:58-5:08...Hope it's mate shows up, it sure was cute! Enjoyed this video, and eagerly await to find out what was inside the house!
TeeHee… You’ve succeeded in making me trying to tell you what to grab for me😂🤣😂😃 I was like… Blue crocheted doily, blue crocheted doily, repeatedly. Then I saw the white crocheted white star ornament. Oh well, saved me a few dollars 💸 Again, I love your videos 🤗💕🦋
Wow...amazing things that people will throw out! Thank goodness that you went through that box, some really wonderful items saved, good score👍 love love love the little pipe cleaner Santa’s !!!! I found that little nativity picking on day🙂
I so love to watch you when you find vintage Christmas😃 I’m the same way. I would have grabbed the entire box and go through it at home lol!! Can’t wait to see what you find inside the house.
It's amazing how one person saw that stuff as trash, but it's definitely treasure to people like you, who appreciate, and want to save our history! I saw an American flag in the Christmas box. I hope it was taken out and dropped at an American legion or other places that properly dispose of old, unusable flags! We Need to give them the respect they deserve, as a symbol of America, and the freedoms we have been given by our forefathers!
So glad your friend picked up the barometer, they give much more accurate readings then the weather forecast and are really underrated collector items.Even the pots, frying pan and pressure cooker looked in very good conditon, good cooking sets can expensive a shame they didn't advertise them out earlier for free someone would have been very happy to use them.
A true trash picker, I love your excitement when you find things that you personally love. I get the same way whenever I find vintage Christmas. Found a vintage Halloween blow mold stack the other day. Pumpkin, ghost, cat, skull and pumpkin with a hat stacked up for $3 at a thrift shop. Almost wet myself. Put in my booth for $55. Hope it sells quick.
That was a box filled with small treasures…kept yelling “take the box”…just like the bags when I first started watching…never know what treasures you pass up in you haste to find what is there…just take it all🙃🌻
@@adorejunk And instead of throwing what she didn't want "out" into the dumpster, she kept putting it back into the box and moving it over and over. Also push the flap of the box behind it so you don't have to keep dealing with it falling down in the way.
I was so happy you grabbed the colander to hold the ornaments and tea strainers in. I got one like it in 1975, it's now missing all 3 feet but I still use it! The tea strainers were a great find, wished you would have taken them all... crafters make them into ornaments, my Aunt used to hide money in them, put in paper money and toss them in a utensil drawer, she said, who's going to pay any attention to those, not a burglar for sure! She also hid money in the couch covers that had zippers, Kirby vacuum bags still on the vacuum, zippered pillowcases, did I mention she was my eccentric Aunt? Seeing this vid a day late, so on to the house clear out next!
Loved you dumpster diving! The first time I saw you were trash picking your favorite trash bag house! Yay!!! I have a 70s or 60s lavender girl elf on the shelf from my childhood!! Happy picking!!🍁😊
Civil Defense was a civilian group trained to help authorities in times of disaster, civil unrest, etc. This was in the 50's and 60's and the Russian scares. My father was a member.
Just the ticket for first thing in the morning a dumpster dive with PAM. Love it. If you could bottle your joy and sell it you would be a millionaire. Loved those pipe cleaner Santa's. That wasn't a griswald in the trash was it. Looking forward to seeing the house.
You are so cute digging in the trash bin-oooh ah oh, oooh ah-you still have the wonder of discovery, and I love that! Sounds like me at a digger garage sale, when I find treasures-don't know if I can dig in a garbage bin-but that one was pretty clean!
Growing up in the 60’s, my mother had a knee hugging elf sitting on a large gold garland holding mistletoe that she would hang across the larch arch going into the formal living room. ❤️
Your hand was so close to the lid to the blue music box a dozen times! I hope you found it in that first box. It was heartbreaking to see them toss crochet, embroidery, hankies! Anything can be washed. Wow what finds!
Hey Renee - What a wonderful video. I sure wish I could have been there with you!!!! I would definitely have kept more of the tea strainers/steepers - they're great. And, CD stands for Civil Defense. It looked too shiny to be left from WWII, but could have been from the 60s and the cold war scares back then.
I totally remember the Sears mushroom kitchen collection...my aunt had the entire set. And she started me on the Sears kitchen frogs and my sister on the Sears kitchen daisies. We were the only 10 and 13-year-olds with half the collection in our Hope chests. 🍄🐸🌼
