Could be that elderly homeowner is going into an assisted living facility. Still rather sad that all these treasures end up in the trash. Glad you rescued it all!
That is what I am thinking as well.
This is life. With all the people dying of covid, family members could care less about cleaning out homes and having sales. Thank goodness Renee had the presents of mind and wherewith all to stop otherwise these wonderful items would be in the landfill.

I graduated from yard selling to picking trash. Saw a old enamel pot that would make a great planter. I definitely thought of you and Taco as I eagerly saved it! Giggling 🤭

I commend you on not knocking on the door. You know that sad stuff could be going on inside and that is why this glorious stuff was thrown out. It always lifts my heart to see you looking at the treasures like a small child on Christmas morning. It was heart-breaking that the lady would not agree to you taking the pictures, I am sure there was a reason for it, but the loss of art does hurt. Keep picking. You never know what the next bag or box might bring.
Wise words. I do think about that art house and feel bad, but the owner had their reasons & so I had to respect that. There's always more treasures waiting around the next corner!

Munsingwear was a sports brand back in 1960's 70's lots of pro golfers wore . and mid century elves. Can't believe people don't know about how popular mid century decorations are. Guess they don't think about recycling cardboard boxes or don't care vintage bathing suits are used for decoration at old beach houses hang on wall or in frame. IZOD skirt depending the astronaut poster could be worth some $$$ Mercury Gemini or Apollo very collectible.

The best part is seeing the look on your face when finding the elves.....Love seeing people happy..............Always check inside pillows...people hide things inside I.E. Money, paperwork etc......
The Tote Man told me last week there was a vase that was bubble-wrapped... sat in a tote for hours, so he finally decided to cut off the bubble wrap so people could see it. He found $200 inside of the vase!

Renee you were meant to find those treasures…its so sad that someone would just throw them away..so thrilled for you. I went to a church rummage sale on Saturday and there was one little angel ornament..i picked her up and then put her down..and then i picked her up again because i just couldn’t leave her behind..I cannot resist anything Christmas and especially if it’s vintage…great, great finds!
I thought I did well finding stained shirts with bright plastic buttons in the trash. Today, we passed a dumpster full of furniture behind an apartment complex.

I think that you,by not going to the door, are a true trash picker. Choosing only to interact with the home owners when they approach you, is a good way to go. You’ve definitely got the gift for finding the goods. I would think if you’re ever in need of content, you could do a video on trash picking fails COMPILATION. Some people who are new to your channel, might not know THAT sometimes... you are just a trash hauler. LOL ! Lastly, when my mother in law passed, only the kids went to do the clean out. I know for sure, there were elves in the guest bedroom closet. When I asked about Christmas... my sis in law said, “oh, that stuff was so old we threw it away.”
I was crushed. I think of that every time you spot elves in your treasure hunting.
Finding this many in one trash bag was a true surprise to me! I'm thankful that I spotted the older cardboard boxes & took a peek inside of the bags.
christmas came early for renee. i'm on the west coast and enjoy watching you with my breakfast--black tea and a warm peanut butter and banana sandwich. it always feels like home watching you get excited over your finds.
Tea & peanut butter toast has been my breakfast for over 15 years... nothing quite like that first cup of tea in the morning!
I'm WIDE AWAKE, Renee, for the next surprise bag!! Like your shirt full of cute cartoon "folks". You'll have enough little guys to decorate a single tree. Thank heaven for persons like us who treasure and save these vintage items which could end up in landfills! Jansen...a big name in women's bathing suits. My mom had three of that brand. Mr. and Mrs. Santa appear to be on a strict diet and workout at the North Pole Gym! Why are those little elves called "Knee Huggers"?...Perhaps you said...TREE HUGGERS?

@@PaperandMoose Thank you, Renee! Today is the first sunny one in almost a week. Our "Mark Twain" spring/summer has lifted... for now! I hope Monday brings you another bag of goodies! I always enjoy my favorite trio of pickers: You, Dee, and Taco! Taco was the first I viewed...he got me "hooked" on trash picking videos! Now, I do it (T.P.), on a VERY limited basis, as there is so little stuff left out and rummaging is considered stealing from items left for scheduled pickups by Recology, our scavenger service! Despite that, I've been a bad boy at times! Just could not pass up a couple of neat vintage radios, albums of old 78 records....and, and...yes...a small fr-g collection!!!!!

These were thrown away because we all have our set of value that we put on things. I became a junk journal maker and now place value on paper items that I would have put in the trash just last year!!

I am always delighted and a bit amused when you find Christmas elves and pixies as I remember almost 50 years ago when I could get rid of mine and buy better. And I was happy and I still don’t miss them, but I appreciate that you do.

I sewed the bottom 10 inches of many ties together and made curtains for our guest room.
At around 14 minutes, that red and white jersey one-piece looks like the gymsuit I wore in jr high school in the early 70s, except my school wore mustard yellow striped with mustard yellow bottom.

Hello Renee. Wowe wow. Knee huggers galore. I remember having one of those dresses that was a shirt and skirt together and it was red. Some fun clothes in that bag. I love the hats and you look so late 60s early 70s in the yellow hat. I remember a commercial with women in them and on tv shows. Such a wonderful bag of joy.
